Great but app needs improving. This is a great camera “but it does have some faults with the app”. I’ve been looking for a good ip camera and i’ve had cheap ones and i’ve got other ones for another big well known company motorola who’s picture quality is bad. Back to this yale camera the picture quality it’s great i use it on the standard definition, even when your remotely moving the camera it’s good picture quality. You can turn off the ir night lights so you can see out a window at night if outside is well lit up. You can use a free dropbox account to get security motion alerts uploaded “instantly” (need to have micro sd card installed) which works great so any burglar etc, footage will be stored online doesn’t matter if the smash the camera (your internet speed may affect the “instantly” i have the up to 32mb 😉 when you consider that other companies will charge you a monthly fee like motorola to have this feature. It was very easy to setup with wifi you’ll have to turn off the wifi only in the app account if you want to view it with mobile data. You can use the app to control the camera, take pictures, start recording video etc. The bad points:the app seems to work better with android for getting the instant alerts it’s not doing it with iphone (you can setup email alerts) i emailed yale about this they did respond but it’s all went quiteit doesn’t do well with keeping the correct time even after you’ve sync it, seems to want to be about an hour ahead. The sound quality is to low when trying to listen through the app, seemed a little better with the uploaded video footage on dropbox.

However i can get it to work by plugging the ethernet cable directly into the router then it works brilliantly and what a great. I bought this device couple of weeks ago and i struggled to connect it to wi fi as explained in the previous review. However i can get it to work by plugging the ethernet cable directly into the router then it works brilliantly and what a great little camera, but obviously your choice of placement of the camera is limited to the length of the ethernet cable you are using does make it disappointing. Haven’t managed to set up the sound and motion detector alerts though yet. If i could fathom out wi fi connection i would give it 10 out of 10. Luckily the camera is where i want it to be so extremely happy with it. Footage is clear and in colour of a light is on and night vision is black and white but very clear. The ability to talk through it and listen in as well is very good.

Very good but hard to connect to wifi (tips in review). I bought this from another seller but wanted to help people who have trouble connecting this to wifi. Connect camera to your router with ethernet cable that comes with camera. Open app and scan rear of camera to set camera up. Now camera is connected (wired) set up the basics i. Username/password and once logged in and viewing camera live via app, click the settings icon (top right) then a list of setting are displayed. Add your wireless network which must be 2g not 5g (most routers have 2g & 5g) once it shows your 2g wifi at top of this connection screen, come back out of this screen and close app. Go back into app and into settings again and connection should now show your wireless network and allow you to unplug camera from ethernet cable.

“Great but app needs improving, received this ip camera and initially it all seems good but the ios app can lock up now and , decent enough camera, woeful customer service from Yale!”

This is a great little camera. Let me preface this review by saying i used to work for chubb security designing and selling high-end security systems, i never installed them though. This is a great little camera. I purchased two for my home, followed the instructions for installation exactly and connected to my home network without a hitch. I also have a wired yale cctv system, which i connected these guys too again without any challenges. I have actively been monitoring whilst on holiday abroad in the middle if nowhere, over a mobile nerwork, without a hitch. Highly recommended, considering its low cost.

Received this ip camera and initially it all seems good but the ios app can lock up now and. Just received this ip camera and initially it all seems good but the ios app can lock up now and then. The dropbox feature is good but only seems to store videos and photos in sd so the quality is bad. Strange as on the ios app you can choose sd or hd. But the worse thing is that the volume is so dam low you cannot here a thing indoors, even at full volume on the app others can only just hear you the only way if you shout loud enough. Seems quite hard finding one that ticks all the boxes and works as intended. Yale Smart Living WIPC-303W Home View Pan/Tilt and Zoom IP Camera – White Bewertungen

Great if you’re looking for a mouse in the kitchen but not suitable as a home security solution. . Unless you’ve got advanced troubleshooting it skills, my advice is that you don’t buy this camera. It’s not ‘easy’ to setup, it’s the total opposite. We’re an it company ourselves and we had trouble connecting the wireless camera to our router. Eventually, we decided that a wired connection would be the only reliable way to use this camera and that’s the way we’ve been using it since we set it up. The smartphone app is ok but if the movement sensor on the camera has been triggered and recording is in progress, you can’t access the app until the recording is complete. So if there’s a break-in downstairs and the camera is recording the live action, you can’t view the scene live from the app as it unfolds – you can view it later once the recording has finished. Record quality and cloud uploads are good but the dropbox feature often requires that you log back in to your account. This can lead to lost files that can only be accessed by removing the sd card from the camera and into a reader.

Help with connection over wifi. Hi for all the people out there and there seems to be quite a few here some help setting this up on wifi. Don’t even think about calling yale support spent 30 mins waiting to be told they only offer a call back service which i must add they never did call me back. Being a good pc engineer i felt it my mission to find it why some many people have a problem and then a few other do not when connect the camera to wifi and the app seeing the camera. Well it all come down to the router you have and the wifi types it supports. It seems the camera will only connect to a older 2. This means you need to go in to your router setting turn the 2. 4g wifi mode to 54 mbps this will turn of the n class of the wifi signal. The camera will then connect to the router, start the app and make sure it using the same wifi 2.

Decent enough camera, woeful customer service from yale. Let’s start by saying this camera works well in the position we have (nearly on top of the router) the instructions are sparse to say the least and not being an expert, took me a while to figure out that to set up the wifi connection you had to put your camera over the qr code on the back of the camera and make sure it was in focus and nearly immediately it hooked up but, as i have stated, the instructions are sparse, apart from that it functions without any hiccups and has not yet dropped out?. The power cord is laughable it is so short, which is why it nearly sits on the router, come on yale, you are better than that surely. And surely your tech dept want a boot up you know where, no replies to e mails, no call backs (2) and all i have done is muddle through the set up and the app which is not bad actually but needs some work, maybe my camera but having to reboot the camera to get the video from the app to the phone storage is a bit tedious. It would have been so much easier and made the purchase (elsewhere, not via amazon) more satisfying if your tech dept got re booted and got some form of knowledge of what customer service is all about, bad for yales image and hence this review. But still, not a bad camera.
