I’m quite a fan of james’s saturday morning show. And i already own a james marrin appliance produced by wahl – a coffee grinder – so it now sits nicely alongside this food processor on my kitchen shelves. It’s a good all-rounder and it comes at a very reasonable price. There are cheaper alternatives but wahl are a well-respected and long established company so you’re absolutely guaranteed a certain level of build quality. The two main ‘jugs’ (for want of a better word) – ie the main unit and the blender, are plastic, and not glass but this is a necessary concession at this price point. So you’re assured of product longevity, and quality, but what about that all important attribute: performance?well, the cutting blades are sharp, the ‘jugs’ (like most guys, i appreciate big jugs) are large enough for a family, and the chopping, shredding, blending etc, functions all work well. I’ve made a few fine soups in the blender – which all the family enjoyed – and erm. Chopped and shredded vegetables in the main container.
A whizz for blending, chopping and juicing. A very decent food processor. Like the other james martin endorsed products i have tried, this seems a fairly robust and well made product and a worthwhile addition to the kitchen of any cook. In the past i tend to have made do simply with a stick blender but this has the potential to do a lot more. I have to confess i haven’t made full use of its functions yet. I shall have to get round to making my own smoothies at some point and i generally find chopping things with a knife seems an easier option than the slicing blade function. I do intend to give them a try but that is perhaps the one problem that this – like all processors – suffers from: they are a bulky item in your kitchen which may not always be strictly required. This blender is certainly no worse than others on this score and significantly better than many – you’ll just have to reach your own conclusion as to how useful it would be for you.
Wahl james martin food processor – may endear the celebrity chef back to cyclists. To start by accentuating the negative this james martin food processor is heading towards the top of the range. It begs the question would it have been that much more expensive to have the blender jugs cast in glass rather than plastic?. It is there that the complaints stop for other than this small niggle this is a very good and surprisingly powerful processor. Since receiving the item, your reviewer has turned into a veritable clanger so much soup has been consumed. The ability to throw in various cuts of meat helps this enormously. The processor is also a nice size for those whose kitchens do not require phones either end for people to communicate. Certainly, kenwood products come a bit cheaper although this does look nice particularly set against mock granite worktops (yes cheap as chips) and at no point has any loss of fingers or other bodily parts been threatened. James martin is not everyone’s favourite chef and special ire is held for him amongst the cycling community. In terms of this food processor, however, he has lent his name to a decent product which to date has performed with genuine effectiveness. Excellent blender and processor, well built. I’ve never before used a food processor, so i was excited to see what culinary roads it might lead me down when i was offered the chance to review this. On first impressions when opening the box, the item feels slightly plasticky. However, that’s not to say it doesn’t function nicely – the blades are very sharp, and i like that you can vary the attachments per what you’re chopping/kneading. I’m yet to use the bread attachment since i own a bread maker, but it looks like it’d do a good job. The blender attachment works great for making delicious fruit smoothies, something i find myself using almost every day. For the food processor novices like me, there is a recipe book with some ideas for what you could use it for. Overall, i’m impressed, but i take a star for the slightly cheap feel to the product.
This is a great all rounder appliance designed by james martin. I’ve been using it for just over a week now and it is very effective and does what it says. It attracted me because it’s wahl and i know their blades really last so fingers crossed. It was easy to set up with various different blades for different things such as chopping and slicing, juicing and there’s even a dough blade which is great if you make bread and saves you doing all of the hard work. There’s nothing particularly outstanding about this. It is an all rounder processor blender, it feels quite plasticky but all the parts are easily disassembled and washed in the dish washer which is a plus point. Performance wise it does the job and it does it well, most things can be chopped and blended in here so i’m looking forward to experimenting with various ingredients, it definitely makes life easier and endorsed by a celebrity chef makes it a great gift for a fan of theirs. Recommended, there may be similar products in the market for less but the endorsement makes it appealing and it’s a great set.
