But if you want really good quality audio with a sustainable and durable design. These headphones are expensive as hell, yes. But if you want really good quality audio with a sustainable and durable design, it’s really all you can ask for. They’re amazing quality with or without an amazing sound card, dac or mixer. You have tons of options for side panels, the cable is durable and, for the most part, really comfortable to wear. They have a great frequency range too for electronic music, but i assure you that they’re great all around. I like the durability, i like how compact they are and i love the look of them with my setup. All around great headphones for someone wanting to step up their audio quality from most headphones. One tiny problem with these headphones is that they can hurt your ears a tiny bit after a good 4+ hours with them. But you can easily fix that by adjusting them a tiny bit every couple of hours or just replacing them foam with some different ones that your ears that tiny bit more room.

The ideal bass/audiophile quality headphones for the dollars. . There are some very in-depth opinions concerning the sound so i will not say a great deal about it. As a bass-head, i am extremely glad with these. My earlier bass significant headphones constantly compromised on the other finishes of the spectrum but not the m-100’s. If you are searching for reference/studio grade headphones largely for audio generation, i wouldn’t be way too confident on receiving these. Nonetheless, if you are looking for an audiophile grade + bass weighty pair of headphones, this is it. Once again, a lot of other individuals have currently analysed every single facet of the seem much much better than i could so remember to refer to all those, but if i had to explain the sound with a person phrase it would be: effective and energetic. I also remarkably suggest this as a significant finish gaming headphone. I use this with the soundblaster z + earforce dss (to attain headphone surround seem for video games/motion picture). Though stereo seem is best for audio, the conventional seem phase for these headphones appear to be a tiny shut to me. For illustration, when listening to any kind of speech, the sound feels compelled way too close to the ears. That is why i use the virtual encompass option on the earforce dss to open up the audio stage for videos/games (while i really feel it expands it far too a lot creating an echo like resonance, but that has absolutely nothing to do with the headphones). It can be nevertheless miles better than any other headphones that i experienced tested so really i am nit picking in this article. The create high quality screams good quality almost everywhere.

Very fun sound in the most durably constructed headphones. Sound signatureby far the strongest sonic trait of the m-100 is it’s rendering of its bass. At least to my ears, this is the defining signature of these headphones. Before getting into the nitty gritty details, overall i felt the headphones had a somewhat u-shaped signature. In my conversations with val, it’s really more the prominence of the bass and slight forwardness in the trebles give this perception. The mids are somewhat more neutral/flat however due to the characteristics of the bass and trebles, the perception appears u-shaped. Bassas mentioned previously, the bass rendering is the most prominent feature i picked up in the m-100’s sonics. This was the same trait i personally fell in love with even on the june m-100 prototype. I can’t say honestly if it’s the same then as now or if it’s improved (my sonic memory can’t go back that far) but i can say that it wow-ed me then and continues to wow me now in the production model. I won’t call myself a bass head but the m-100’s bass traits have enlightened me on how to appreciate good quality bass.

Comments from buyers

“Fantastic customer service, bass that’s beautiful & clean yet plenty, build quality that is at the top, they are fun headphones!, CROSSFADE M100s: THE BOMB, great looking and sounding”

Remarkable headphones but only with the xl pads what a distinction. I have just marketed my hd 650 senns ,as i discovered the v moda so solid and the sound is not much absent from the senns ,and at 212 pound on present seize just before they go again up to 270 bargain get them purchased rock on v moda, but make sure you take note the assessment is based on me using the xl pads immediate from v moda what a change amazing ,improvements all the things.

First of all i just want to be say straight up i am not an audio or headphone expert. I am just your average person who was looking for a great headphone. I looked up many reviews prior to buying and noticed the m100s were receiving a lot of praise. I made a choice to purchase these headphones soley bases on internet reviews and information on the vmoda website. It was a big risk spending this much on the m100s having not even listned to them in person. I ordered mine directly from their website so coming from the us they took about 10 days to be delivered which wasn,t too bad although of course i got stung with the usual tax fee once delivered. The first thing i noticed about these headphones at first glance was they look amazing and feel like a high end unit. I am not typically a fan of overhead earphones due to their bulky size although the m100 do not look huge and ridiculous and in my opinion actually look quite stylish. But lets face it most people i assume look for great sound quality over good looks.

At initially use i was impressed with the seem top quality, but immediately after about twenty-30 minutes use a slight discomfort transpired that guide to fantastic discomfort immediately after about fifty minutes even though sporting with eyeglasses( with out eyeglasses about 1hour and a little bit much more and the irritation would kick in). Staying curious as to any way to boost this, i searched the net and identified (following a even though of browsing, stunned now that it was not suggested much more) that v moda essentially sold xl alternative pads for the m-100s. These were not available on amazon as they are rather new, so i experienced to send out off to v moda in los angeles for the xl pads. Immediately after 13 times the new pads arrived (invested all over $20 as well as $30 postage for these for 6-ten small business days supply at the time gained by usps) and now the headphones are comfy even following several several hours of use in a row. Thus an eventual 5 star. Ps the pads are actually straightforward to substitute.

The bass, mids and highs sound amazing. The colouring of the headphones is brilliant and the unboxing experience makes the headphones that much more unbelievable to unveil. However i do have one issue with the way that the shields were protected with the plastic film. My issue is that a sticky residue from the film was left on the side shield and i am yet to find a way to remove this “stickyness”. All in all a great product just fix the shield packaging.

I dj open format stuff with it and its pretty comfortable. I don’t use it for any extended. I dont believe i treat devices badly, but this headphones keeps losing bolts/screws on the hinge. Granted its always replaced by v-moda under warranty. The second time it happened i even asked them to post me the bolts so i can replace them myself but they said no, had to post it back to them at their own cost and another brand new unit was sent out. I dj open format stuff with it and its pretty comfortable. I don’t use it for any extended listening just for quick beat matching, so its goes back and forth between my head and my neck at a regular gig say every 2 to 3 minutes.

Excellent headphones with plenty of bass. Excellent headphones with plenty of bass. I would like a bit more clarity at higher frequencies but overall excellent headphones.

I purchased my v-moda crossfade m-100’s a few months ago and was impressed with the extent of the (though not detailed) bass (it does have a large driver, after all). Plus, the headphones have a strong “v” shape, which means that the bass and the highs are emphasised (but the mids suppressed). These don’t need amping and are extremely portable, look good etc. Where they fall down, in my opinion, is sound quality. Compared to the (cheaper) beyerdynamic dt 770s (250 ohm – which do need an amp) the v-modas sound cheap and hollow. They also don’t have much detail (my old b&w p5s outperform the v-modas here). Plus, they don’t upscale well (by which i mean that they don’t necessarily sound much better with a better source, dac or amp). They are ok, though, and will be decent enough for most people, though there are considerably better sounding cans out there which are also cheaper. And enjoyment of sound quality is really what matter to me, so only 3 stars.

These headphones are great there much better than overpriced beats by dre. They sound crystal clear and bassy. I listen to trance on a i pod with them and like i said they sound amazing. If you used them with a hi res music player im sure they would be close to a pair of £500 headphones. V moda also sell decent accessories for them on there web site like custermizable side plates and more premium cables.

The sound is good but nothing extraordinary with alright bass. Owned these for just over a year now and although the overall appearance hasn’t really changed, the screws keeping the earpieces in place have come off on both sides which makes the headphones completely unusable. The sound is good but nothing extraordinary with alright bass, but would prefer stronger.

Great product but a little bit tight. It has been almost a year since i bought this product. At first i was amazed at how great the sound was. Truth be told, i had never bought a proper pair of headphones ever, so this was a big step forward. The only downside of it, is that i feel that it is quite tight on my head. I get headaches after wearing them for more than an hour. I tried stretching the material as v-moda also suggests, but it hasn’t worked as far as i can tell. All in all, great product, just make sure you don’t have a huge head like me :).

Reliable, versatile, good sounding premium headphones. I’ve used these headphones for 11months before making this review. These are my first expensive headphones and i’m not regretting it. Pros- i’m not much of an audiophile but in my opinion sound quality is great. After burning them in they give a very crisp and precise soundstage. Bass is crisp and powerful but not overpowering mids or highs. They may not be as neutral or accurate as studio grade headphones, but very enjoyable to listen to. Listening to trance or house music is very enjoyable on these. – these headphones are very versatile. You can plug in various cables into either side, use them at home, go out with them since they don’t look obnoxious, they fold and fit into the nice clam shell case they come with, you can use them for mixing when plugged into both sides.

All you need in a portable headphone. From the build quality, to the crazy thumping bass( that doesnt affect the acoustics) the sound is 5 star thr customer service is on point, they fold smaller than my hand and have a super strong exo skeleton case to throw in your bag, the cables are both very thick and durable, and the customisable plates is fantastic change the colour of your earcups for as little as 20 poundthe one and only downside tobthe headphone is if i wear them for more than 2 hours i feel a little pain on the top of my ear but is fixed when taking them of for 10 mins.

I am pretty new to the high quality headphone market. Admittedly these are not in the upper echelons of closed headphones but to be honest, with the price tag and to ordinary mp3 music listeners (that i consider myself to be) they are still pretty expensive and from what i have heard so far pretty damn fabtastic. They have had a pretty decent 130 hours burn in now. I will first comment on their initial sound straight from my mp3 player which is a sony nwz e585, and then go on to how they sound with my fiio e70k headphone amp. So when i first bought these cans i was a bit hesitant, as the price tag was quite hefty and though the reviews were generally very positive there were some that said they lacked in clarity particularly in the mids. Firstly i will back this opinion to an extent (discussed below), however being a tad of a “bass-head” it didn’t bother me too much. Previously i had bought sennheiser urbanites which were great sounding especially in the low mids, beautiful control and clarity but lacked the oomph bass in the face for me (excuse the technical language). Then i got some sony mdr xb 950s which were utterly flawed imo.

The “beats killers” best head phones i’ve ever owned. This has got to be the most amazing pair of headphones i has ever own the bass is not over welming it is more bass than most head phone so its good for bass heads like my self how ever still good for people who dont want a huge amount of bass. The highs are very defined vocals are clear and i feel i can hear every instrument. The head phone over all are extremely comfortable and are not bulky so dont look stupid and if you dont like the shields on each side of the ear caps you can go on to the v-moda site and customize your own for $25 though shipping to the uk costs $30 for 1-5 working day delivery. On there site you can also buy xl ear cup if u are not satisfied with the supplied ones. The build quality is insanely good every thing that matters is made of metal and dont think that makes the head set heavy because its not its very light on the head and feel great. So over all i believe these are the best head phone in there price range i will definitely support the whole “beats killer” statement these head phones have made for them selves i believe these to be a must buy for any one loves music. Hope this helps you decide if these are for you or not.

Are these headphone good value for money?. But what i can say is i can never go back after using them as the music coming from them is simply sublime, like nothing i have ever experience before. I bundled mine with the fiio q1 amp & dac and it just adds that extra something to the music that seems to get an even better experience from these already amazing headphones. Bass is the best part of these with tight but thumping lows plenty to make bass heads happy but also not too over the top that someone who prefers a flat signature would be against it.

Good, but for the money there are better sounding and longer lasting alternatives. . Whilst not providing a completely flat response, they are slightly bass heavy, sonically you are unlikely to many complaints with the m-100s. They are super comfortable – i have worn mine for hours at a time on planes and in an open plan office. They don’t leak sound too badly, or at least not so much that my colleagues have ever commented on it. The case and cables are all great. On the flip side, the build quality just isn’t there. The plastic at the bottom of the headband has cracked/shattered twice now with only normal usage. The second time just shortly after they were returned to me from v-moda. You cannot replace this plastic yourself so the headphones have to be sent all the way to v-moda to be fixed. They are expensive and there are cheaper, better sounding and better built alternatives.
