I recently purchased these in order to have a decent pair of headphones that went over your ears rather than in them. I looked around at various manufacturers and reviews and decided that v moda seemed to have everything needed to use not only on portable devices but for pc and hifi. I have used them on a samsung galaxy 3 and given the eu max volume limits they are still plenty loud enough and no amplifier is needed (in fact given the low resistance of the headphones an amp may well reduce sound quality). The differing sound styles the phone has are clearly very different through these headphones and the equaliser settings have a profound impact on the sound produced. I tried them on my sons i phone5 with one of his very bassy tracks and felt the rumble down either side of my neck. Finally i put them into the pc and played various styles of music from low to max volume. On max volume there was no distortion of the sound at the higher frequencies and a tiny tiny amount with the big bass tracks , but to be honest my ears were beginning to bleed and the bass rumble through neck and head may well have played apart in this apparent distortion. Deafness would ensue very quickly at those volumes anyway.
After buying these i read a few other reviews on other sites and they weren’t all as positive as i expected. Most were on audiophile sites though and i suspect that the standards expected by those carrying out the test are ridiculously highsince receiving mine i have enjoyed numerous hours listening to very varied music and i can honestly say that i’m over the moon with them. The bass is nice and deep without distortion at volume, mids are clear and not muddied by the bass at all and the highs are crisp and clear. I have had numerous sets of high quality headphones from the likes of sennheiser and pioneer and these are easily comparable. Overall a fantastic pair of good quality headphones, very comfortable and feel built to last.
Bought these for my son (who is soon to be 28) after he mmm’d and ahh’d over several pairs for several weeks. He is thrilled with the build quality and describes them as the most hard wearing headphones he’s had so far. The sound leans more towards to bass heavy side of the sound spectrum. So those who like beats by dre etc will not be disappointed. To give more clarity on an apple device, enable treble booster as this improves the vocals and makes everything sound less muddy/bass heavy. These headphones are very comfortable, i’ve tried them on myself. I could imagine a long journey with these would not cause me any discomfort. The case has drawn compliments i’ve been told, with friends and colleagues admiring the craftsmanship of everything involved. If i ever decide to by some headphones for myself, based on my son’s opinion and what i have seen and heard so far, i would definitely have a v-moda product.

“The best headphones I’ve ever brought!, Look good, sound great, Misleading reviews when this is a flawless product”
I own 8 pairs of headphones. . From akg to sennheiser, to v – moda and wesc, among others. The bass is, as you’ve probably already read, unbelievable. Personally, i find it pretty well controlled once you get to grips with these. They’re a bit like a high end sports car. . They are tricky to deal with but once you have them understood, they reward you big time. I use them primarily with a high end sony mp3 player that has adjustable eq options, not just preset options, and once you find that sweet spot through the eq, these sound sweet. Seriously, if you’re gonna use then on any kind of unit that doesn’t have this flexibility, unless you’re a dedicated bass-head with the intention of using these for electronic dance, where heavy bass is a staple, you’ll be disappointed. But, spend time working these out and the rewards are there. They look fantastic, and the build quality is the best i’ve seen. V-moda are not the biggest name in the uk, but believe this, they smash the beats range to pieces. These are rapidly becoming my favourite cans. I hope this helps somebody to make their minds up.
Like most people i deliberated for a long time over which headphones to spend ‘a bit more’ on. I went for these over the lp2 in the end as i read that the bass was better. I love bass but it isn’t good on these cans – it’s face-vibratingly, amazingly good.Seriously, if bass is what you’re looking for, even without an amp, than get these. There is a downside to this however – because it’s so good it drowns out the other frequences a little, but i still love them.
These are a definite bye if you like bass an listen to trance house like i do. These are a definite bye if you like bass an listen to trance house like i do to bad i missed the deal these have just gone to make sure you bye these over anything else.
