Very low battery life but apart from that brillian.
Terrible for men like me because you have to read the instructions to get the full benefit. Surely it could be designed to be more intuitive with better controls and menus takes a while to start up each time you mount it. Fits together and mounts on the windscreen easily and securely. Lock it away in the boot when not in use.
The unit performed well and got me to my locations just fine. . Having used a g090 for a long time. I’m still getting used to this unit. I’ve just returned from a long drive around france, switzerland and italy. The unit performed well and got me to my locations just fine. As a tomtom go 720 owner i decided to stick with the tomtom brand when looking for a more up to date model. Firstly the go 5000 is a totally different beast to the go 720. Some changes for the better and possibly some not. Some new functionality and some missing functionality when compared with the go 720. Overall a decent device for day to day use, live traffic info is useful as is the permanent data connection. Would i but this device again?. Yesfor all the comparisons that have been made between the current tomtom line up and past models, times do move on and for the functionality that some users are shouting out for tomtom seems to be listening and releasing updates.
The golive feature is superb. Occasionally may lose it, may have to do a reset – but the amount of traffic saving time it has saved me, worth the money alone. This lets you know where there are traffic problems and if possible, will offer a diversion.
Reviews from purchasers :
- However after reading a few reviews of the best device in 2015 it was clear they all favoured
- Best satnav i’ve owned
- A very useful gadget. Bit pricey
Great device, great features. Despite some of the poor publicity that tomtom have received on the new ‘go’ range of satnav’s, i am actually a massive fan of them. I purchased the go 6000 as a massive upgrade on my previous mio satnav. The main reasons for purchasing a tomtom was the lifetime maps and the addition of traffic updates during my journey (i looked at garmin devices, but the garmin traffic seemed to be beaten by tomtom traffic in most situations). After purchasing this device (not from amazon), i opened the box to discover the true size of the device. It is massive, especially compared to my previous deviceafter switching on the go 6000 for the first time, i was prompted to make an account for the lifetime traffic and lifetime maps (due to the go 6000 having an inbuilt sim-card for data, the account was ready for use when i logged on to my pc). I find using the device to be a quick and easy experience, searching for addresses is fast, and since the 13. 040 update, searching for post codes is now a speedy task. One possible downside is the size of the map update downloads. The v925 map update just released came in at just under 5.
