Earphone practical experience can be very subjective. I delight in all kinds of new music, classical to pop, jazz, rock. I like bass, but i’ve in no way utilized excess bass, and the xtra bass variety by sunny are airways around the leading for me and detract from the tunes. I also like the treble to be apparent, but not drowning out the relaxation of the musiccomparison with former types:if you haven’t listened to a hybrid earphone, they must be able to offer you improved audio excellent in principle, but sometimes they sound off. The former flagship xba-h3 had 3 drivers (a person far more than this earphone). One focused for bass and two well balanced armature drivers for the mids and treble. Exactly where i enjoyed the h3’s, the bass was never ever that fantastic, it truly is a bit flat. You could not get a excellent feeling of the tone there.

I have to be honest – the ‘techo-speak’ about these headphones whizzes right over my head. For me headphones are a bit like wine. I can tell the difference between good and bad, i know what i like and what i don’t, but all the connoisseur-jargon baffles me. So, the bottom line of this review is that these are a good (if expensive) pair of headphones, and i like them very much. Even listening to a crummy little over-compressed track on a cheapo mp3 player sounds much better than with cheaper phones but i’d guess that to see just how good these are, you’d want to try them with some hi-resolution audio tracks (after all, you wouldn’t buy a state-of-the-art video player and judge it by playing some cheap pirate video). I do agree with one other reviewer that it would be nice to have ‘in-line’ volume control, but this doesn’t annoy me enough to make me deduct a star. Really, if you have no problem with the idea of paying a premium price for a premium set of headphones, and the lack of in-line volume control doesn’t bother you, i can’t see you being disappointed by these.

Have to have some time to burn up them. Excellent bass, gratifying mid, adequate hig. Can hear separation on trebles. Not that substantially between reduced and mid,but sound purely natural.

Astounding sound top quality, if a minimal bassy but thats good for individuals who like bass. Rather highly-priced but so well worth it. Experienced respectable headphones prior to but the n3 would make them audio like filth.

Sony XBA-N3AP Premium High-Res Audio In-Ear Headphones with Dynamic Drivers – Black : Excellent sound quality, worth the money?. I don’t claim to be an expert in audio or headphones, just someone who enjoys music, and often has to use them. I’m pretty much limited to amazon music or spotify when using these, as they go in my phone, and i also listen to audiobooks every night. These are presented well – they come in a black box, which contains the earphones themselves, and hard carry use,and a selection of different sized earpieces. I’ve personally stuck with the medium ones, and they it well, and are comfortable over a long period of time. However, a couple of times now they’ve come off in my ear when removing them. I’ll be honest, i wasn’t sure if the quality of the sound was that much better than my usual ones. But when i switched to them, the change was very noticeable. The sounds are crisp and well separated, and the base is at a good level. I tend to use rather cheap earphones for every day use, but am beginning to realise that for music, it’s often worth paying more.

Finding the right size of earbuds is fiddly but the perfect fit is essential to ensure the best sound quality. Clarity is of a very high order and individual instruments are clearly discernable. What really stands out is having a seperate dynamic driver to handle the low frequencies. As a result, there is a sense of scale with orchestral music and punchier drums with rock music. My only criticism is that bass could be deeper and it lacked definition. I know it appears to be expensive for something so physically small but if you are passionate about sound quality it is worth it.

Designed for hi-res but supplied without the cable shown on the manufacturer’s website – confusing. These are well made earphones, which clearly command a price premium. I bought them to use with my recently nw zx300 hi res player, which has both normal (3. 4mm) outputs – the latter of which is a new standard that sony is driving in the market. Having researched my purchase on the manufacturer’s website and seen a balanced cable in the main product photographs and a section in the product specification pages headed ‘included balanced-connection headphone cable’ which continues with ‘4. 4Φ balanced connection cable separates left and right sound signals, while minimising signal transmission loss and resulting sound deterioration. The result is smoother high frequencies and superior sound quality. ‘, i thought it reasonable to assume that such a cable would be included in the pack. However, this is not the case.

Audio quality and performance was not good for this cost. Audio quality and performance was not good for this cost. There is no difference in sound quantity when i compared with default galaxy s8 plus headphones.

Sony once again hi end kings in the low end. . They do need 20-30 hrs burn in, and they need to be played on a dap that can do hi rez, and nothing less. Got that, the unwashed public?. Only using 320 kbps, they are outstanding. Detail retrieval and texture is superb, there is no sibilance or grain, cohesion is spot on, they are fully the equal of the senn ie 800 at 3x the price. They are hours long comfortable, the isolation outdoors is near total, and they are chocolate smooth, with toe tapping prowess with the right mood and music. And at last sony bring mids to the party. If i can be hyper critical the ss could be a bit wider, but all else is perfection. You get the normal full sony sound, as with the h3 and the 90, but the n3 is in another league. Despite being 32 ohms, they can be used without an amp, just shove the vol up four clicks.

Amazing sound quality, if a little bassy but thats good for people who like bass. Quite expensive but so worth it. Had decent headphones before but the n3 makes them sound like dirt.

Simply best earphones i ever heard. Simply best earphones i ever heard, clear bass with high resolution, probably not for those people who wants heavey bass, but definitely high-end, both sound and craftsmanship, very satisfied.

Well done, sony this time. . Better performance on popular music than ie80, espeailly the fantastic bass and details. Did amazing improvement from h3 to n3.

Great headphones, but with a baffling omission. Firstly and most importantly, these sony headphones provide fantastic sound quality with rich bass and loads of detail. With the right foam tip and music i am able to block out nearly all of the outside noise on my daily train commute to and from work without needing to raise the volume to dangerous levels and without music leaking out to annoy my fellow commuters. This is no mean feat given their diminutive size. They also come with a nice leather-effect carry case for storing them, which brings me to another nice feature: the cables seem to be immune to the dreaded tangle, simply pull them out of the case and they unravel without any wrestling and cursing that normally accompanies untangling headphoneshowever, there are two problems. Firstly, and not that important, is the amount of rustle and vibration that passes along the cable whilst walking which is annoying but not a deal breaker. The second problem, however, is the reason that i cannot give these the full five star rating. The inline controls feature a single button to control play/pause, skip songs and so on, plus a microphone to make phone calls or use siri. Bafflingly, sony have omitted any volume controls, so you’ll need to fish your phone out of your pocket to adjust the volume, rather than using the inline controls and leaving your phone safely in your pocket. Sony claim that there will be cable upgrades for the headphones which could possibly fix this issue, but a few months later and there’s still no sign of any.

A lot of money for a average pair of ear buds. What i was hoping for and what i got were quite different things. As you’d expect these days there is an awful lot of packaging which often tends to indicate (to my mind at least) that the goods within that packaging may not live up to expectations. I felt that was a bit the case here. Firstly the appearance is, shall we say, different. They’re quite long at around 30mm from front to back. They’re also quite large which is apparently to incorporate what sony calls the “sound space control” section of the earpiece. They are also very magnetic as i found when i put them down on my work bench and then picked them up to find them covered in wire clippings from components i’d been working with. There is a lot of technospeak about these on the sony website including the claim that these are 24bit 96+ khz data capable. That seems rather blurby since all headphones are analogue devices since the human ear is an analogue device, incapable of rendering a digital stream directly.

Beautiful sound but no ability to change track or volume from in-line control. Superbly presented and wonderfully sounding earphones that produce a beautiful sound from lightweight and comfortable earpieces. I strongly suggest you look at the advertised accessories that can be mixed with these phones to enhance the sound even further. For me, i found the sounds produced were perfect and so clear you could hear every neuance the producers want the litener to hear. I’m a musician, so when i listen to my own recordings i not only want, but need, to hear even the slightest error in balance (or worse, the notes being played) before the final release. With these, i felt comfortable, that i was listening to exactly what i produced. When i’m out and about listening to music, i don’t want to have to publicly display my iphone or ipod or whatever else i have store my music, in order to adjust the volume. The in-line control is solely for answering a phone (if that’s what is being used) and not to change the track or the volume. In these days of needing to be aware of the risks to personal safety, i feel that’s a big omission.
