Noise Cancelling Headphones

Had my beats studio noise cancelling cans stolen after a long haul to atlanta so needed to replace them. Was fortunate to find a duty free electronics retailer in another airport that had a wide range of nc headphones on stand for customers to test drive using their own music source. I moved through each of the headsets starting with the new eye catching monster inspiration through the parrot ziks and bose variants. Eventually i found myself not caring which cans i was picking up and plugging in, all i was interested in was how good they sounded. Then 1 set of cans really took my breath away. The sound was crystal clear with a flat bass response that matched the quality of my rel strata iii subwoofers. I was wearing a pair of headphones that actually had detailed sub bass capability. I took them off to find out which ones i was wearing and noted sony mdr 1rnc. Now i should probably explain right now that i have slight tenintis which can make vocals lose detail.

Give your ears a neat treat. . Yes, i had to say neat, because these headphones have been so ergonomically designed, sony really have put a lot of thought into the user experience, so much so, that i wouldn’t mind putting them up for a designer of the year award. There is no user manual , because these headphones are so user friendly, that you don’t need one, (there’ll be one on the sony website for sure though). It’s immediately apparent how these phones work, where the controlls are, and how to use them. There are no complicated fiddly controls to manoeuvre, just straightforward, and beautifully designed functions. For instance, the in line volume control actuaully works, and is easy to find your way around , without having to look at it. These sony headphones, are comfortable to wear, giving an extremely good fit, and quite light, considering that the battery is enclosed in the right hand side earcup. The lead is tangle free, and looks superbly designed in itself. The materials used in these headphones are top quality, and i’m guessing they’ll last forever. The sound is exemplary, and your old mp3’s will take on a new life, giving you a purity of sound that you didn’t know existed.

Superb sound and build quality. If your looking for a fantastic set of n/c headphones, you’ve just found them. . These sony headphones are far superior to my bose qc15 in every way. The build quality and attention to detail is superb, and the sound is just amazing. My bose headphones lasted just over a year, the ear cups fell apart, then the left side bracket broke. Absolute rubbish for a set of headphones costing this much money. No more bose products for me. I know sony products are good as i own many of them, but these headphones exceeded my expectations. Even the carry case is quality made and looks nice. Here are the specifications for the Sony MDR1RNC Noise Cancelling Prestige Headphones –:

The noise cancelling is brilliant, ventilator (i believe it would be the same. The noise cancelling is brilliant, ventilator (i believe it would be the same for aircraft engines) noises are (at least to me) perfectly cancelled. Typing noises are also greatly reduced when the noise cancelling is on. I am however, not sure about the battery status indication system. However, the music appears to be played in a lower quality when the aforementioned mode is turned on. While this could be bothersome to some, i still find the overall experience pleasant. The comfort of the headphones are great, despite wearing glasses i did not feel any discomfort while using it.

These headphones are great if you need nc and also for non nc use – these are my portable headphones – i prefer the non nc sound but the effect of the noise cancelling on flights and in the is just excellent. At the current price they are a bargain and come with a great carry case and additional cables and adaptors. I have had nuemerous nc headphones but these are the most comfortable and best sounding.

Where do i start with these headphones?. I’ve had many headphones over the years and i have to admit that these are best that ive had. These were bought to replace a pair of bose qc15 and until then i thought that nothing could touch them. Once you handle these, you’ll instantly see that the build quality is pretty substantial. However that build quality does come at a price, and that is the weight. I would say that they are probably twice the weight of the bose’s, but with the soft leather foam and sponge ear pieces, i can listen to these all day and not suffer from fatigue. As to the sound quality, they pee over the bose’s with the noise cancelling off, but certain sounds are bizarre with it on. , if people are talking behind you, they sound like robots with the nc on. Other bonuses compared to the bose’s are that they still work when the battery runs down; the battery is rechargeable via micro usb cable; two cables are supplied, one for standard mp3’s players and one with a mic/ remote controller for iphones. They may be steep in cost, but when compared to other high end headphones, they not that bad.

I received these headphones about a week after i ordered them via amazon. They are stylish but seem robust. The pads fit over the ears and are very comfortable, even after long periods of use. Most impressive is the noise cancelling feature – by switching the nc on and off (without playing any music) i was able to detect and cancel background noises i didn’t even realise were there. These headphones were a little cheaper than other makes and i am not able to make direct comparisons but i am very pleased with them.

I tried bose as well and i didn’t have the feeling the noise-cancelling was any better on bose. The noise-cancelling capability was the feature i was going for and it works well. I tried bose as well and i didn’t have the feeling the noise-cancelling was any better on bose. The sound is not audiofile grade, and someone who is used to some really high-end home headphones (like me) might be slightly disappointed at first. But in their class, and considering i mostly plug them in my phone or laptop, they perform very well and overall i am happy with the purchase. I am giving only four stars because they are overall good but not awesome. If you travel a lot, this is a good buy.

Good, but heavy on the ears and can only. Good, but heavy on the ears and can only be used when sitting still because their weight makes them thump your cranium with every step when you walk.

The headphones really look and sound the part. The headphones really look and sound the part. They are not throttled so you can really crank up the volume if you want. I use them in the office and i can still hear conversations over the top of the white noise these generate. I’ve yet to use them on a plane.

These are the best headphones i have ever used. I compared with bose and have found these so much better on every level. In my opinion these surpass anything on the bose headphone line and they’re an absolute pleasure to use.

Was a little concerned by how long these have been on the market (launched 3 years ago now). However i shouldn’t have been. It’s a classic design, extremely well made, sound amazing, and very comfortable to wear. I went for the wired, noise cancelling variant, and am impressed by the nc abilities, especially in a model that’s been around for a while. It easily matched some competing “current-gen” nc headphones. It is also smart enough to work out the best nc mode, so it will adapt after a few minutes to match the most suitable mode. No noise cancelling headphones will cancel out all forms of noise, it’s simply not possible from a technical challenge, and these perform as good as competing products. I guess one thing to mention, the product mentions it’s ipod, ipad, iphone compatibility (i guess these were launched when people still thought apple products were the bees knees). Don’t let that put you off, it works with anything with a 3.
