They were bought to replace a pair of philips headphones, they have no distortion compared to the philips pair. They even have a great stand to store and charge them on. They charge quickly and they last forever. I would recomend them to everyone.

This is the best headphones i have owned in the last 10 years. On sony website is for £99.

  • Enter your model number
    to make sure this fits.
  • 40 mm driver unit, 25 hour battery life, noise reduction, analogue two input, 100 m transmission range
  • 40 mm neodymium drivers
  • 8 Hz-23 kHz frequency range
  • 100 m radio frequency wireless range

An excellent product, just what you would expect from sony. Very comfortable to wear even for extended use. As to the range, i only used them around the house, but they seemed quite adequate. I thought there was a problem at first as the sound cut out after about ten minutes use, but this was cured by increasing the volume of the source, and using the volume control on the headphones to reduce the volume.

These have transformed the way i listen to music, particularly as i’ve just finished putting all my 80s vinyl onto cd and there was a limit to how much more ac/dc and iron maiden my wife could take. They are supremely comfortable, very easy to operate and dock/charge, and the stand plugs into pretty-much anything with a 3. The sound quality is extremely good (in fact, it can show up deficiencies in the equipment you’re playing the cd on: don’t connect the headphones up to a tatty old laptop, for example) and it’s a revelation to hear cds i’ve had for years in crystal clear sound. The range is excellent too: they work everywhere in our quirky old house, which is a rabbit-warren of small rooms with thick walls, as well as right down the end of the garden. A few small downsides you should be aware of. There is a very (but it is only very) small amount of noise leakage. The volume control can get adjusted by, say, the collar on a puffa jacket. And sometimes they do slip very slightly if you have a small head.

Reviews from purchasers :

  • Excellent – Just as expected from a Sony product.
  • Earphones Comfort.
  • Sound of the crowd

Dont forget to buy the extras. Good set of well made phones, comfortable & good sound, trouble free mobility. Now the pathetic bits; supplied with a very short lead (audio plug to phono plug)to connect to sound source, and the even more pathetic; supplied with 2 pin plug to connect to mains and no 3 pin mains adapter just for the benefit of amazon – the next time i spend british pounds on a british website and you supply me with a non british plug the item will be going straight back to you for a refund.

Sony wireless closed over-ear headphones. Being some what deaf i need a set of headphone to listen to the tv while the wife was in the same room and not the other side of town , these sony headphones fitted the bill you get realy clear sound its just like being in a room with full sound system. Yes they not cheap but then you only get what you pay for , the best bit is when you finsh you put them back on the charge and thats it till next time. As for range i live in a big house and no matter what room i am in the sound is clear. So all in all good set of headphones good sound.

Excellent phones,it only took the time to remove from the box to set up. What more can you ask, comfortable, great sound, the only phones i’ve had to reduce the volume and spot on battery life.

Excellent phones, but then sony are pretty good can’t see any reason not to choose these ,highly recommended.

Some connection issues, even when it is placed less. Some connection issues, even when it is placed less than four feet away, can take some time to turn back on when it automatically shuts off. Would prefer if it auto-shut down after a longer time.

Sony mdr-rf865 wireless headphones. These sony wireless headphones are excellent. I bought these to replace a pair of similar ones which my husband had for the last 20 years. There was no set up involved, just plug in to the tv and your ready to go. The reception is clear when walking from room to room both upstairs and down with no drop in clarity at all. The head set is comfortable to wear with well padded ear pieces that do not leak sound, you may need to adjust the volume settings on your tv to a headphone and exterior volume setting if others are to listen to the sound through the tv at the same time the headphones are in use turn off the headphones when replacing them on to the charging unit for optimum use to recharge the internal battery. If you require a good quality pair of no nonsense headphones then consider these but please bare in mind they are wireless and not bluetooth.

Like many things these days they aren’t meant to last. I bought this to replace the same model which, after 4 years’ use were beginning to deteriorate (ear pads falling apart and volume control almost unusable). Like many things these days they aren’t meant to last foreveraudio quality is superb for my purposes, and the volume control essential (my first philips ones didn’t have this). The built-in rechargeable battery has never failed me yet, lasting many hours of the day without recharge. The wireless range is also good, allowing me to be anywhere in the house or garden without loss of sound.

Longest lasting headphones i’ve had. Let me just say i’ve bought these back in 2011 and i have used them for now more than 5 years. They have not been pampered they have been moved through different houses 5 times they have been going through airports at least 3 times a year they have stayed on the ground for a year they have been used daily for years. Also their range is way longer than 100m i would say their range is a freaking overkill but if you want to listen to your playlist from home in the next neighborhood you totally can. Put the transmitter up on the window and you’ll be able to walk your dog up to the next hill while listening to music. Main thing though is their comfort. They are extremely light so light for their size that you will forget you have headphones on. They have lovely sound that can go really high. Also battery life is mindblowing i have had them for 5 years now and the battery is not showing signs of decay.

Great headphones for late night tv/movie watching. You can hear the crickets and leaves in the forest behind the main character.

Over the years i’ve had various cordless headphones. Some have a back ground hiss. Some have a ‘creaking’ noise from the headphones when you move your head. These headphones have neither. No creaking from the headphone joints.
