A solid no nonsence camcorder. The sony trv245 offers usb streaming. Not the smallest camcorder available, but it is solidly constructed and offers all the essential features you’d expect from a camcorder, plus the real bonus of usb streaming. Computer hardware permitting. Lcd screen is very robust, unlike other camcorders i have experienced. You will not be disappointed. Particularly at this price which is very competitive. I recommend you purchase the stamina battery which potentially offers 11 hours battery life to bring the camera up to its full potential.
I’d been thinking about buying a digital camcorder for a while now and i finally bit the bullet and bought this sony dcr-trv250e. So far i’ve very impressed, although having read some other reviews, i made sure that i’d bought some tapes at the same time. The camera was excellently packed, with just the right amount of gizmos and not too much literature, however to throw in one of sony’s own tapes, wouldn’t have gone a missonce unpacked, it was fairly self evident where things went and i was soon recording footage of the family and pets. The size and weight are just about right, so you feel secure in holding it and your shots are steady. The power control and recording button are under your thumb (like most cameras) however sony have done away with the tilting switch for the zoom, which is a little disappointing as the sliding switch, to me feels a little too far away. It’s also very sensitive, although this is not a complaint as after a while, with practice, it gets easier to control. The lcd is a nice size and is very clear, and you don’t have to be looking straight at it to see it. The mechanism for opening it out is firm and smooth, so it doesn’t feel like it’s going to fall off.Underneath are a few controls, and a small speaker for playback.

Picture quality after streaming. I am happy to buy this cute piece. Very satisfied than what i had thought of it or any digital cam. The only problem is the picture quality goes down once i stream it on cmptr and load pictures. May be the screen is not compatible or i am not using i link. I am using the usb streaming. The second problem is the short battery life , so when you buy it buy additional battery as a reserve. But over all it’s easy to use and smart.
Shame about the low volume level at playback. Started off with a analogue sony trv57e what a great little camcorder no problems encounterd still going strong several years later, but now wanting to get into dvd burning so took the dive and decided on purchasing a sony digital 8 trv 250efirst up the play back volume is far to low, tride going into the menu to improve things but still no joy, then the casset eject button at bottom of camera??. How awkward, then when sliding this button nothing??. Blast brocken, no you have to open it yourself then and only then dose the damping affect come into affect and open the casset draw. Hoping to find some helpful info on upgrading the battery to a longer lasting replacement by perhaps a diferent manufacturer that costs less but finding any info on this is a real challenge.
This camcorder is fantastic with all of the things you need with it. It also has many effects you can choose from and you can make a title witch is fun for everyone. I have found it cheaper in other places.
