A great camcorder with a great price. . Hi,this has to be the best camcorder i could afford. It has many brilliant features including super nightshot (nightvision). There are many fader modes allowing a smooth transition between scenes. There are also some good digital effects, including one that allows you to make people or objects become ghostly and translucent. This camcorder has the best value i’ve ever seen and i made the mistake of buying it in a shop for £50 more than i could have got at amazon. I had a very fun christmas with it, and am really pleased that i bought it and i think you should too.

Im an av producer for a well known footy website and my fiance bought this for me as a pressy, at first i worried as i am used to using canons xl1 mini dv but for the price this cam is excellent, digi format means good quality and the firewire (dv/ilink) capabilitiy means it works with my premiere edit suite with no loss. I have yet to use the usb function but i am impressed how much they fit into this camera. One drawback is battery, the battery it comes with doesnt last too long so fork out for another, you can get one that lasts for about 5 hours for £80 so its not too bad. Nightshot is class and timelapse funcionality as well is great, overall most of these gimmicks will never be used but for the price its fantastic.

Excellent camera allowing me to play and record both digital. Excellent camera allowing me to play and record both digital and older video8 tapes – excellent picture and sound quality for a camera of that age.

I recently bought this camera to take with me while travelling in new zealand and australia. I didn’t research too much, but it certainly seemed to be pretty well featured, and at the price i could not complain. The camera was incredibly easy to get to grips with, and after a few practise sessions i was quickly up to speed on the controls and the menu functions. There are several digital effects, which to be honest i haven’t used, but can see potential for them in the future. Obviously as i was away travelling for a time, i was not able to hook the camera up to a tv to see what the real quality was like, but made do with previewing my shots on the built in screen. I was happy enough with that, but it was not until i got home and could play back through a tv that i realised how good this camera really was. The quality is brilliant, and a far cry from the cheap looking film you get on home video tv shows. The sound is not great, and the microphone suffers from wind noise quite badly, and also you tend to lose some definition in low light environments, but i now have several hours of truly priceless memories on tape. My only (small) gripe is the zoom control, which is a little stiff, and can be heard on the soundtrack if you tend to flick it.

Although the camcorder appeared to meet the requirements it was. Although the camcorder appeared to meet the requirements it was not the right format that i required and would not playback my old previously recorded tapes , also there was not remote controller with the item which made it very difficult to use when trying to play back on t v or computer for editing making the order not fit for purpose.

Bags of fun but a little large. I purchased this as my first camcorder. I spent a lot of time looking into the options and decided that i wanted a digital camera in order to be able to play with the footage on my pc. I didn’t want to spend too much as it was my first camera and i have a habit of breaking kit like this. I am currently working overseas, but ten days after i ordered the camera arrived. I have had a stack of fun with this. The nightshot facility is great, especially if you have the lamp on. Super night shot really slows the frame rate down and so it is not possible to film moving things, however, for static things it is great. The camera is a little on the large side compared to the latest models, but then the price is excellent. I would recommend getting a second battery though as the main battery dies really fast in the cold.

Having had analogue camcorders in the past, i could not fail to be impressed with the play back quality. I know its digital and should be great, but the picture was as superb as from my digital satalite box. The 560 digital zoom is a bit naff when maxed out, but if limited to 40, the image quality is excellent, and 40x is a lot of zoom. Obviously not a professionals choice due to the lack of microphone inputs and stuff, but for taking on holiday, birthday partys etc. This product is a steel at the price. Make sure you buy a tape though, sony don’t provide onenice one sony.

As a first time buyer with a budget of £400 i knew amazon was the ideal place for a camcorder. Instantly won over buy the price i decided that the sony trv140 was for me. As a first time buyer and user i found the trv140 suitable for my needs. The layout was easy as was using the camera. It also had a number of unhighlighted features such as photo taking. The trv140 was excellent value for money and has many hidden features, im still finding out what else it can do, the only down side to this package is that the manual isnt in the easiest format to understand and it comes without a tape so instant filming cant take place when the camera arrives. However apart from that the trv140 is triumph, thankyou sony for a great camera and thankyou amazon for a great price.

Being a complete novice i wanted an easy to use camcorder which had a good price and was packed full of features. I had carried out my homework on other websites e. Prices, features, etc and found this camcorder to be the best value for the amount of money i wanted to spend. This camcorder almost seemed too good to be true. A digital 8 camcorder for the price of a hi 8. Where’s the catch?i decided to buy this camcorder on sony’s good name. My initial reaction after unpacking the camcorder was how compact and stylish it looked. Obviously the camcorder has to house a 8mm tape but considering this it seems to be as compact as it could possibly be.

Sony dcr-trv140 digital8 camcorder. This product does almost anything you want it to do. This is my first camcorder and i got it up and running with no problems at all, it is so easy to use. You can link it up to your personal computer too which appealed to me as my girlfriend is expecting a baby and i have alot of friends in america. So i am able to send them pictures and short movie clips. I would recommend this product to anyone who is wanting to venture into the digital camera world. At first i was going to buy an analogue camera but with this one at such a great price from amazon i just could’t resist.

The equivilent of this camcorder was over £1000. This is one heck of a bit of kit for the money. This is my first camcorder so the ‘pro’s’ will probably laugh, but i think it has everything that i will ever need. The only reason for not giving the camcorder 5 stars was that it was charged up and ready to use within an hour of receiving the parcel. But sony provide everything you need except. A tapethank’s amazon, thanks sony, i am happy.
