I’ll admit from the start that i am a bit of a headphone collector and i own numerous pairs from sennheiser, beats, sony, bose and now these new sms sync ones. I should also mention that i run a music website, so i take my music listening very seriously. The first thing i noticed about these headphones is the build quality. They are much better than dr dre’s beats headphones and you have no fear that the headband will snap like the beats have been known to do. The molded memory foam earpieces make these very comfortable to wear for prolonged periods and whilst my ears got warm wearing them, they didn’t pinch or hurt at all. These come in a sturdy case that holds the manual, various wires, ac charger with assorted international adaptors, a wire for when you want to use these in a more traditional way and the dongle for wireless use. Both the dongle and headphones were very quick to charge up and within a few hours i was ready to test out the wireless capabilities. There are buttons on the outside of the earpieces which control the wireless sync, bass boost, volume and track skipping. These buttons feel very sturdy.
Product great – but it’s not the whole package you might expect. Firstly, let me just say the headphones are great. Very sturdy yet flexible, almost no ‘creaking’ that you tend to get with predominantly plastic products, a snug fit without being tight and obviously most importantly they sound really good. If you watch any unboxing video for these headphones on youtube, or for that matter read the product description here on amazon, you’ll see that there are a number of things that are to be included in the box. Alas, the box contents differs from these unboxing videos and from the description. The product listing says that the following items are included in the box, but in brackets i’ve commented accordingly:sms audio sync by 50 wireleess headphones (yes. 5mm wireless transmitter (yes)micro usb charging cable (yes.In fact better than expected as it’s a splitter so you can charge both the headphones and the transmitter at the same time)airplane plug adapter (no)usb/ac adapter (no)hard-shell carry case (no)soft touch cleaning cloth (no)product brochure and owners manual (no and yes.
The first time i received this item the right ear cup didn’t work when using wireless, however i got a replacement which had a slight fault on the headband, but it not to bad, the sound quality makes up for most issues, however i think they should check all of their products before dispatching them. Here are the specifications for the SMS Audio SYNC By 50 Cent Over-Ear Wireless Headphones –:

Amazon were very helpful in resolving the issues i had with 2 pairs of these – 5 stars for their service as usualwhy the 3 stars for the headphones?these are a good pair of headphones. Very comfortable and the sound quality is very clear too. However this product seems to be a case of an excellent idea with poor implementation. I went through 2 pairs and have had to give up even though i was very happy with the sound quality. The headphones are 2 part – the cans and a wireless dongle that you plug in to the audio sourcethis dongle is not bluetooth – it uses a different technology to ensure lossless audio. And while the audio is excellent, this is where things don’t work as they are supposed to. The cans go out of sync from the dongle randomly and frequently. Whether you’re commuting on the tube, in the gym, simply doing the dishes in the kitchen, etc. Also, the dongle starts creating other issues of its own.
Nicely made and presented, but pricey and too big. I received these free through the amazon vine scheme. After several months of usage, i’m still not entirely convinced by these and am definitely glad that i didn’t pay for them. The headphones are extremely well-packaged. There’s a beautiful, pasteboard display sleeve (that’s probably 2x as big as it actually needs to be), inside which you find a good-quality, zip-closing storage case. This case contains: the headphones and wi-fi dongle, a cleaning cloth, a cable and converter (allowing you to switch the dongle from wireless to wired mode), a usb lead and charger (complete with 4 different, interchangeable, international plug ends). These would certainly look like an impressive gift. The ear-surrounds are well-padded and comfortable, though outside of the band is rather plasticey. The sound quality is great, and wearing the headphones i’m able to walk a couple of rooms away from the dongle before experiencing problems with sound cutting out. There’s only one charging lead included (cable-wise it’s a fairly standard set-up that is identical to many mobile phone/e-reader chargers), but the headphones and dongle require separate charging, which i find a bit awkward.
Reviews from purchasers :
- there is no replacement part in europa. usa official
- Finally! A wireless headphone which I want!
- Nicely made and presented, but pricey and too big
I bought these headphones a few days ago, and they are absolutely phenomenal . The sound and the durability of the headphones are really outstanding but the headphone doesn’t work perfect with the iphone 5 and ipad mini or ipod shuffle. It’s transmitting music very fine and the op and down volume buttons work and also the bass booster button, but the button to skip the tracks doesn’t work at all that’s a big laid down for me personally but i can recommend them .
I delayed the review for a few months intentionally to make sure that no issues will show up with the battery or something else. Battery life as mentioned, lasts for about 16 hours. Sound quality is surprisingly good. I’m a sennheiser man, i bought this as a fashion wireless item, but the sound surprised me. Much better than other fashion stuffs e. Now this is my main headphone, i prefer to use this instead of my ‘legendary’ sennheiser ie80, because the sync is more comfortable. The sound quality is only good when you are using it in wireless mode, with bass boost on.
