Quality earphones for quality audio. . I got these earphones as a replacement from shure when the cable on my se530’s cracked. First off, that won’t happen with these earphones. They have wisely reinforced the over-ear part so that normal wear won’t damage the cable which used to happen a lot on the older models. Also, the detachable cable means that any damage that does occur can easily be replaced without the need to send the enclosures away. The enclosures themselves are a different shape to the se530’s. At first, i found them quite fiddly to fit into my ear but after a couple of minutes i actually found the 535’s easier to fit in. As for the physical fit in the ear, they are just as comfortable as the 530’s and after wearing them for a few minutes you begin to forget you have them in. The cables have all been updated and seem of a better and stronger build, but only time will tell. Sonically, the 535’s are amazing.

This is my 3rd pair of these. My first pair had a faulty connector and was very swiftly replaced by shure uk (who have excellent customer service), the second pair didn’t take too kindly to being put through the washing machine. So i had to buy new ones again. Until shure bring out a new top-end product, i would not consider anything else. I wear them while running – a lot, and they never budge or lose the seal, constantly producing amazing sound, even from an iphone. Beware though, if you sweat a lot the connectors can start to oxidize and the connection can start to cut out at the earpieces. I found that wearing a cap prevents sweat from running into my ears and sorted the problem. Highly recommended from someone who worked in the business of music & mastering for 20 years.

“Not noise cancelling, Great all rounders with Pro Quality sound, Impressive sound quality & excellent performance”

Great all rounders with pro quality sound. Why i chose shure 535 in-ear headphones (but also applies to their less expensive 425, 215 models) – they are the only brand that meet all the stringent criteria below:1 pro studio quality sound – flat balanced response that’s not clinical or over-cooked2 max comfort fit earbuds with alternative earbud options3 generous (2yr) in-country warranty and support (sadly not available via amazon-based sellers though, at least in the uk, so i had to buy them through an approved retailer in central london for about £50 more)4 replaceable cables – yes5 iphone-compatible cable control6 in line controller has good button differentiation/response7 max gain headroom using iphone (75% all you ever need)8 secure ear canal fit while on move9 max isolation for optimal bass extension10 robust build quality11 near zero cable whistle12 custom moulded earbuds availablewhatever you buy, please consider all these factors before making your final decision – i had three pairs of etymotic hf3 and loved them but gave up on them as they only met about 3-4 of these requirements.

Like a flying horse with golden hooves. Wow, £330 on a pair of headphones. What was i thinking?i read the other reviews on amazon, and these sounded like they might well be the 2nd coming of the messiah. To be honest the only reason i purchased them, was because was looking for a decent pair of isolating headphones after my sony mdrnc300ds died, and the next 3 pairs i ordered from amazon were also dead on arrival. These are quality made, chunky, arrive in a nice brushed metal box. I have to say that the manual could have been better, as for the first 2 weeks of ownership i had them in my ears upside down. Was it not for seeing someone wearing exactly the same headphones on the tube i probably still would be. Once inserted properly into the ear (the right way up) i can say that these are outstanding headphones. Comparing them to the sony mdrnc300ds, which are half the price – the bass response is a little disappointing, it’s still perfectly well rounded, but just didn’t have that ‘wow’ factor of being perfectly cocooned inside your music. Having said that the mid and treble is great, really punchy, clear, and yes there are bits of music i’ve not heard before that i have heard through these phones. Are they twice as good as headphones that are half the price?. I can’t honestly say, but for me where they score massively is the comfort in the ear. Never have the buds wanted to wriggle free and annoyingly fall out, despite gymming, walking to work, etc. And i have very awkward ears.

I’ve had the shure se 210 for the past few years and was always very impressed with them. These however, are a whole new levelif you buy these you will not be disappointed. Sound, fit, build quality – all top notch.

People like to compare head/earphone music with external systems. So, open the box, carefully fit the phones in my ears, plug them into my zx1, begin with a chopin nocturne, then the rolling stones (rocks off), then maurice ravel (daphnis et chloé). People like to compare head/earphone music with external systems. External music comes to you from outside, full of reverb and accidentals; ‘phone music exists purely inside your head. External music can have a sound stage, in front or around you, but phone music is in a sphere, the music is everywhere and nowhere. External music jostles for your attention, like an eager crowd; phone music is just there in all its detail, waiting for you to attend to it. Hard to believe you can listen to so many instruments all at once. Well, that’s how good the shure 535 buds are. Helped that i’ve been using a pair of denon buds over-the-ear for a number of years, so things like precise fitting and thickish cable weren’t a problem. Only one curious problem: hard to distinguish between the buds on the fly, in the dark, and the like. Very surprised by this omission, given the obvious attention to detail otherwise. Simple solution: short strip of white insulating tape, about 5/6mm by 10 mill, wrapped around the left bud wire up near the head. Now they’re pretty well perfect.

Same sound as se530’s but nicer build. These are a nice upgrade from the se530 which i’ve been using for 5 years or so. The materials used feel nicer and more sturdy and for me the fit is better meaning better sound. In terms of overall sound quality, both with brand new foam pads and a good fit there is very little difference. The cable on my 530’s is looking like it could go any day now and that’s the only reason i got the 535’s.

So i bought a pair of sennheiser momentums on the strength of good reviews, but they were simply awful. I purchased these as a replacement for a pair of se530s that had lasted me 10 years. They’re not cheap, so i bought a pair of sennheiser momentums on the strength of good reviews, but they were simply awful. So i bit the bullet and shelled out for these. I’ve not been disappointed – they’re brilliant. Even better sound than the se530’s.

I have been using these for a few weeks now and absolutely love them. I have a regard for high end sound and bought these for use in the gym after my previous shure earphones suffered a cable rupture after ten years of pretty solid use. At first they are a little fiddly to fit in your ears but you quickly get the knack. The sound is full, rich and detailed. I tend to listen to indie rock, reggae and electronica in as high a definition as i can get. They make the torture of the gym a pleasure; blocking out the nasty pop music that is played there with an excellent in-ear seal. At home i use sennheiser hd650s and i certainly find these shures satisfactory by comparison. They also have a detachable cable, so if the cable breaks, as it did on my previous shures, i can just replace it rather than buying new earphones. And at this price that’s important.

Sounds great but aweful design. . Cable seems very reasonable too. Probably last a lot longer than my klipsch did (cable lasted 2years). However the reason this gets 3 stars and not give. Is its an absolute pain to to get the fit right in ur ears for that perfect seal. In-ear earphones are pointless unless you have that seal. On average it takes me about 10minutes before i feel it’s on right and won’t fall out at the slightest touch. The cable design that goes to the back of your ears also loosens and rises up.
