Sennheiser PXC 550 Wireless NoiseGard Adaptive Noise Cancelling : Final Final Review Update & star reduction!

Noise Cancelling Headphones
1

Ultimate final overview update & star reduction. Acquired with my own hard cash cash. Update v — 03/08/16 —irrespective of these becoming the greatest all round bluetooth headset i have at any time employed (and all my terms down below are nonetheless valid as i adore these cans) the more than enthusiastic touch panel finished up becoming a deal breaker for me. I use these for my stroll to operate and again and will use them with my hood up a whole lot and as such these are just not feasible. I did feel i’d just use the cable when i had my hood up wondering it would deactivate the touch panel. Which it does to a sure diploma. But the double faucet that amplifies the outside the house noise (that itself is so beneficial for conversations etcetera) is not disabled and as these any flapping of my hood against the suitable ear cup stops the audio and amplifies the outside the house soundand at above £325 i should not have to be coming up with perform arounds for an extremely excitable touch panel. I imagined long and challenging about knocking a star off as other than the over these actually are amazing. But for my unique needs they just drop quick and i am not the only just one that will be employing these with their hood up appear wintertime so i truly feel it can be truthful bringing up this somewhat minimal flaw but which has very significant sound consequencesthese will now be marketed. I road exam them so you never have toupdate iv — 21/08/sixteen —effectively it took a month but i finally located a flaw and dependent on your use/place it may be a biggieit rained not too long ago on my morning going for walks commute so i had to place my hood up (just a light-weight northface rain jacket) and the strain of the wind against the headset caused the touch control panel on the right ear cup to go haywire.

Lovely audio excellent, quick set up, touch control, what much more could you want. . Sennheiser is a identify i affiliate with top quality audio items, especially microphones, but i’d never truly employed anything they made until i been given these headphones. So, as you might picture, my anticipations were substantial. In the box:the headphonesa 50” usb charging cablean plane kind (two prong) adaptera six. 5mm socket adaptera 50” cable with a headphone jack to three. 5mm jack with a built-in swap/mica protecting casecharging is by way of the equipped usb cable. Plugging in the cable lights up a sequence of little white leds on the headphones. With the progress of the cost indicated by the area of a flashing led. Just about every led represents twenty% of demand so there are five of them altogether. The headphones are switched on by twisting the earcups by 90 degrees – critical to don them, but you want to bear in mind to twist them back again to switch them off right after use. Also they will only healthy into the scenario with the earcups twisted into the off situation. Subsequent to the leds, on the proper ear piece, is a small button with a songs symbol on it. This is apparently the effect manner control. None of the paper provided with the headphones tells me what it does. Here are the specifications for the Sennheiser PXC 550 Wireless NoiseGard Adaptive Noise Cancelling:

Wonderful audio and great touch controls. I used to have a bose but now i cant go back to it any longer.

Effectively designed, cool functions, fantastic noise cancelling but just not loud ample. Also high-priced provided this serious limitation. About the earlier couple months i have tried out out quite a number of in excess of-ear bluetooth headphones in a mad search for the ‘ultimate’ bluetooth headphone. I have attempted the bose qc35’s, v-moda crossfade wireless and now the sennheiser pxc550’s (i required to also attempt the new sony mdr1000x types but they show up to be bought out with a two thirty day period waiting around listing – and i’m the impatient type. My typical wired headphones consist of the next (all of which are utilized consistently):top ears triple fi ten – iem1more hybrid triple driver – iemsony xba h1 – iemapple earpodsaudio technica ath50x – whole size over-earsplayback electronics contain:samsung galaxy take note two (an superb audio participant – especially with the inclusion of neutron). 5agptek h01 – micro sd dependent lossless participant with a pretty potent amplifier on-board. My songs tastes are starting to vary in my old age – hurry, pink floyd, queen, bach, fleetwood mac, vivaldi, william orbit, hanz zimmer – you get the plan. Most of my audio is well-encoded mp3’s (possibly 320k rips – some of the older stuff ripped making use of eac/lame (with some neat psycho-acoustical filtering used) and some downloaded flac information. In other terms, possibly not the most effective in the earth but definitely a significant step up from entry-amount.

These are amazing, comfy and seem is not compromised. Soon after striving a handful of distinctive sets, these are brilliant, cozy and seem is not compromised. might have the edge on seem but the functions on hear outweigh any disadvantage. These relaxation more than my ears so substantially superior, as the m2 made use of to damage after a though.

Very good sound quality delivered in a high quality fully featured package. I bought these from another online website but would like to share my thoughts on these headphones:1. Sound quality: i compared them in store to bose qc35 using the same tracks, sections of songs, streaming app and quality (spotify/google play music). Honestly i could not see much difference in sq, they are both good. When using in my daily commute, i noticed that you can tweak the sound as much as you like on the pxc550. There are 3 key areas for tweaking the sound: 1. The phone itself: i’m using a galaxy s7. The setting of the sound regarding bass, treble, custom eq, all these tweak the sound to your liking. These settings made a big difference. One of my annoyances at first was the high pitch harsh treble sound at high frequencies but now resolved.

Sound quality is pretty good, but anc is not great. . I thought the sound was pretty good (but that’s subjective), but if you’re buying this for the anc – you may be better served looking for another set. Especially if you plan to use it on a daily commute that involves public transport, because if i have anc on i expect that at the very least the lady’s voice in a london bus will be inaudible, but alas she’s still there.

These rest over my ears so much better, as the m2 used to hurt after a while.

I then came across the sennheiser pxc550 and i am really amazed with them. First off, let me say that i have bought these with my own money. My first problem is that i have only about 35% hearing, so i need headphones so that other people are not deafened by the volume. The second problem is the fact that having bought a new tv i then found out that it only had bluetooth connectivity so my sony analog headphones couldn’t be connected directly to the tv, so i started looking for some bluetooth headphones. I started at the ‘cheap’ end of the market in the €20-30 range but to me they all lacked volume, i gradually worked through the range up to and including the bose cq35, all with the same problem, lack of volume, bearing in mind that i only want these for my tv and not to use with any sort of mobile device. I then came across the sennheiser pxc550 and i am really amazed with them, not only can i hear with them but i don’t even have to have them turned up all the way. There are however a few pro’s and con’s, i’ll start with the con’s. 1) i found them awkward to pair to the tv and to start with i had to stand right in front of the tv to get them to pair, but to be fair that could be my fault as i’m not very ‘with it’2) the instruction booklet that comes with the phones is a bit on the pathetic side and i ended up going to the web site and downloading the manual from there. 3) i find the controls very small and fiddly to operate and i’m not at all keen on the on/off switch arrangement a definite on/off switch would be much better i think. Pro’s1) as previously stated the volume is more than adequate.

These are amazing headphones. The packaging is elegant and sturdy. These are amazing headphones. The packaging is elegant and sturdy, and when opening the headphones are folded into a nice travel pouch. 3 hours charging, gives about 30 hours play, and connects easily to your phone in seconds. There are touch controls on the right hand side headphone which adjusts sounds, lets you change to your next or previous track. The sound quality is amazing. I love the noise cancelling factor too. These are the best headphones i have ever owned.

It was difficult giving these only four stars since they are wonderful in so many ways, but it’s important to note the few generally minor issues they do have. The negatives;the headband is perhaps a little too slender and firm, when on my head for periods exceeding an hour i can sometimes feel a pressure spot begin to build on the top of my skull. Expanding the headband until it’s a little bigger than i’d like it appears to alleviate this, but i none-the-less consider it an issue. I have my laptop and phone paired to these headphones, when i turn the headphones on and use the phone and switch back to the laptop there is very clear signal degradation to a point well beyond usability. This clears up within a few seconds, and happens infrequently. Probably my main gripe is that only two devices appear to be remembered by the headphones at any one time, this can be tiring if i want to connect a third device, since i’ll have to manually pair it each time, and then manually connect with my first/second device when wanting to switch back to whichever was overwritten on the headphones. The positives;they’re an incredibly comfortable pair of headphones. Extremely light, very soft ear cups which cover my ears perfectly and there’s no contact with the plastic mesh over the speakers that can sometimes occur with other headphones.

For those people that think these cans don’t go loud enough, the bluetooth volume from your phone is independent of the actual volume on the headphones. Ie there are two volume controls.Set bluetooth to the maximum and use the touch panel on the headphones alone to set the listening volume and not only will the dynamics be massively improved they will make your ears bleed. I have sennheiser ears for sure and have owned various models since my twenties but to me these are a country mile above the bose qc35’s i also ordered and returned.

Bought these to replace a pair of beats by dre wireless studio 2 headphones. The beats lasted about 15 months of daily use in the gym. I did love them and to me they sounded great and thought they’d be hard to beat. Until i got the sennheiser pxc550 and wow i’m blowed away. The noise cancelling feature is superb. This can be switched on and off it’s cool that you can hear the difference between the cancelling being on and off. They are comfortable too and light. If your thinking about it go for it you won’t be disappointed :d.

Better than sony and bose without a doubt. It’s my first trip into the world of noise cancelling, i bought the sony first and returned as felt way too heavy and the pressure from the anc was immense. I looked into the bose but unfortunately they are limited into their features, specifically you can’t turn the anc off whilst on bluetooth. The sennheiser have tons of features, light, anc can be turned off and he call quality is great. All i suggest though is try before you buy.
