A large amount of persons believe that iem’s are truly appropriate only for songs on the go, and that for serious property listening you will need more than-ear ‘big cans. ‘ i agreed with this partially, on the premise that for better audio phase and orchestral ground the major cans are desired: but i also necessary larger accuracy and concentration for chamber and instrumental audio, such as i attained from my etymotic er-4s iem’s (with er-4pt and fiio x1 for travelling. ) the etymotics had been great, but i was getting problems discovering the right huge cans to complement them. I experimented with audio technica, sennheiser 650’s (awful lower mids), akg 701’s, and finally the extremely costly hifiman he-500’s. But none of these remarkably regarded headsets pleased me, there was often a little something nasty going on somewhere spoiling the musical appreciation. In the close i realised that significant cans have been not for me, what i necessary was greater-seem iem’s. Which is in which the senn ie 800’s arrived in, after exhaustive trawling of the reviews. At this price, it’s a terrific chance to acquire unheard, but i was not disappointed (immediately after a transient breaking-in time period. ) the senns are a lot more open and roomy, with a deeper flooring and making fantastic enjoyment in huge-scale orchestral will work.

Greatest dynamic driver earphones you can obtain. Great: following possessing twin, triple and quad armature earphones from a number of models, these were wholly unique. Astounding clarity, transparent audio with a large large soundstage, but even now plenty of bass (but not head crushing) for different sorts of tunes. The dynamic drivers in these are tiny and audio great, also producing them simple to ability with no need to have for an amp. I largely use this with an ak120 with 24 little bit flac information, and they are now my no. All the things else just sounds muddy. They also glimpse amazing with the black ceramic housings. Pleasant situation, but not basically simple and a bit huge. Not so superior:cable sounds (when rubbing versus your shirt), which is some of the worst i have professional.

Fantastic audio and suits correctly.

Ie80s have been great to get started with. Upgraded these from ie80 and the variation is night and working day. Ie80s were being excellent to commence with, but these are just on a further degree. So crisp and crystal clear in-depth in audio. A bit high on bass however but i essentially like it that way. I cant put these down amazing sound and ease and comfort. If u truley adore your tunes and have that more hard cash just go with the ie800.

Incredibly great for apple iphone 6+ and possibly earlier i telephones. . These very expensive earphones are definately an advancement on the generic apple iphone earbuds but the generic apple iphone buds are also considerably far better than you at any time study in assessments. Some reviewers explained that these earphones need to have a greater resource than an iphone, that is not genuine. Some people say these want an amplifier. I tried out that but it was not necessary. If you can find the money for the greatest, these are worth it but you should not get conned by fakes. Only get an unopened box and validate the code on the box with sennieser web-site. My new iphone six+ would seem to have a better dac than the 6, maybe i had a duff 1 with that.

Sennheiser ie800 audiophile iem’s. Just received the ie800’s – all i can say having tried the shure se535’s, these are in a completely different league in every way. Simply stunning clarity, bass & detail for such tiny iem’s – almost defy physics they are that good. Excellent guarantee & build quality as they are made of ceramic , not the cheap plastic offered by others.

Superb for portable listening – but must use 16bit 44. 1hz minimum. I am immensely impressed with the sound quality. This was through a fiio x1 high definition mp3 player which cost around £200. I am awaiting an astell & kern ak240, so i expect the earphones to be up fo the task. If you want a comparison, the ie800s sound better than my grado gs1000i through the fiio high definition player. The grados require more amplifier as the mp3 played doesn’t have the juice – plus the grados can’t really be taken on the train. If you are expecting to use the earphones through a mid-range to high-range mp3 player, i would recommend them. They are too good for iphone sound and i am not naive to audiophile quality as i own a naim ndac powered by a 555ps. My recommendation for the ie800s for portable listening is definitely there – the spaciousness of sound and detail and bass are amazing for inner ear phones.

And these ie800’s are the best. As said, the sound quality is second to none. Having spent several hours testing different genre and eq settings, these are the first i have even been able to listen to on flat eq setting. No extra sound is needed to make the sound smooth through all frequencies. I brought these to replace shure se535 (lacked bass for me), which replaced ie80. And these ie800’s are the best. However, there are a few down points. Tried these at work (machinist), oh dear* standard cable is too short for source unit located in trouser pocket. * no cable clip so kept catching on clothes.

Ie80s were good to start with. Upgraded these from ie80 and the difference is night and day. Ie80s were good to start with, but these are just on another level. So crisp and clear detailed in sound. Best sounding ear-canal headphones regardless of price but need a good portable sound source to realise their full potential. I bought these to replace a pair of shure se535s which i had for 3+ years and absolutely loved, but regrettably lost. I was apprehensive about spending this amount of money on ear-canal headphones again, the shure’s were a gamble that paid off because i found them to be very comfortable with hardly any microphonics, the ‘black olive’ tips, for me offered a very tight seal in the ears which is the key to getting the best possible soundstage. They were also very robust with very high sensitivity which meant i would actually need to lower the volume of my portable music player when compared to using other in-ear headphones, so any replacement would have a lot of expectations to live up to. There is always the problem with ear-canal headphones in that you’re not really in a position to demo them which involves taking a huge risk, this even more so with sennheiser ie800s, as retailers are required to be ‘club orpheus’ dealerships that carry other sennheiser high-end products such as the hd800 headphones and their two headphone amplifiers. So the amount of outlets that actually stock these or can obtain them is quite limited. I took a gamble and managed to get a pair through my usual hi-fi dealer, who obtained them as a special order from sennheiser. I have been using them for 24 hours now and am simply blown away by the how impressive the sound is, especially straight out of the box. As many reviews on the internet can attest, these headphones have an incredibly wide soundstage, the low frequencies are very low, the treble is bright, detailed and airy, and the separation and timing on everything in-between is immaculate. They are a huge improvement on the se535s, which always impressed with their punchy bass and mid-range, but the treble was a bit too rolled off for my liking which is not the case here.

Best dynamic driver earphones you can buy. Good: after having dual, triple and quad armature earphones from several brands, these were completely different. Amazing clarity, transparent sound with a huge wide soundstage, but still enough bass (but not head crushing) for various types of music. The dynamic drivers in these are tiny and sound fantastic, also making them easy to power with no need for an amp. I mainly use this with an ak120 with 24 bit flac files, and they are now my no. Everything else just sounds muddy. They also look amazing with the black ceramic housings. Nice case, but not actually practical and a bit big. Not so good:cable noise (when rubbing against your shirt), which is some of the worst i have experienced.

Great clean sound at all volumes with a slight weakness in the mid region. Easy to lose the buds and impossible to get replacements. It took over 2 weeks to be able to take them off while alone.

These iems are in short supply at present with a daunting price hike direct from japan and before customs. I was fortunate to get a pair from peter tyson who allowed me to return grado g10s which i found impossible to locate for a full frequency sound. They are to my ears in a class of their own. Their natural rich clarity is extraordinary and makes previous favourites sound flawed: the grado gr10 piercing and difficult to locate; the shure 535 relatively muffled;the klipsch similarly coloured and the etymotics piercing unless the triple flange goes deep into the ear canal. I found it easy to get a good fit and find them so small and light as to be imperceptible. They can be worn as long as required with no discomfort. Their sound is like a top class over ear headphone : the hd800 with upgraded cable. My only criticisms would be the micro phonic effect of the cables from the ceramic units and the difficulty for normal eyesight to distinguish the tiny markings for left and right. Is colour so difficult to add somewhere.
