Sennheiser HD 2.30i On-Ear Closed Back Headphones for iOS – White : Inoffensive but uninspiring

Foldable Headphones
1

Excellent high-quality audio, shame about the comfort and ease degree. . The audio excellent on these headphones is wonderful. The seem is clear and the bass tones are very good. They glance and feel like a top quality established and are wonderful and moveable – folding up smaller sized than you would anticipate them to.They come with a little have pouch way too to continue to keep them a little safeguarded, while it is really delicate so it truly is not heading to safeguard against any affect if you have them all-around in a bag. The only challenge is that the ear pads are compact and the band is really restricted. This equates to distress soon after an hour or so of carrying them. It is really a shame as other than this they tick each box for me.

These headphones are actually amazing. The sound quality is accurately what you’d assume from sennheiser. The volume is adjustable by means of controls on the twine that goes to the jack. The headphones fold above on the stems on each sides to make them far more moveable and you do get a neat minimal carry bag to continue to keep them in. They are extremely comfortable indeed to put on, with padded / cushioned earpieces. There is a sticker on the box that claims they are for the samsung galaxy and other telephones, even though they also perform beautifully properly plugged into a pc audio output socket. Incredibly acceptable for use when recording.

Great neutral closed-back headphone. These are a pleasant set of headphones and show up to be created to a realistic typical. They’re lightweight and fold down properly to be stored in the included pouch. These headphones are excellent for portability. Comfort and ease is excellent, but only for small listening periods. After about forty mins i can experience irritation and have to give my ears a relaxation. Clamping pressure is quite large on these compared to other headphones. Sound good quality is generally fantastic and i am satisfied with the flat response from these headphones. Mids and highs are perfectly defined and clear. Bass is okay, but they do battle with sub-bass, which is strange for a closed back headphone, nonetheless, i feel this is due in section to the flat style of the ear pads leading to an inadequate seal (even although they clamp pretty strongly).

Comments from buyers

“Good portable listening experience for tablets and smartphones, with built-in mic too, Lovely phones, at a price reflecting the features and the appearance, Light as a feather, comfortable headphones.”

Light-weight as a feather, relaxed headphones. . Update (april 2017): have downgraded my rating from four to three stars. The ear phones became a lot less at ease rather immediately and kind of pressed in opposition to the rim of my ears – no where by close to as comfortable as ear cans that suround the outer ear. Just after making use of them to look at a film my ears would be a minor sore at the rims – constantly knowledgeable i was wearing them. The young children also commenced likely back to the sony conventional huge headphones we have. They became utilised only infrequently. A number of weeks back the jack which i utilized to plug them into my notebook cracked and bent – the steel all-around the wiring within is slim and now inspite of my greatest attempts at straightening the jack a single headphone has no sound. Not impressed presented the price pointwe have only had these headphones a few of times but they are proving incredibly popular in our household. They experience ‘light as a feather’ at jut a contact more than 100g for the true headphones and direct but are super gentle. The ear pads have added padding all around the outdoors and the interior ear pads are entirely padded with foam (just about stage) with the outer rim.

Typical headphones with weak cable. First rate headphones but with just one significant flaw. The audio jack relationship is incredibly, extremely weak so if you materialize to drop your system whilst these are plugged into it, and mentioned device lands on the audio jack – then it is curtains regretably. Also if you have these in your pocket even though strolling, the jack will eventually loosen and audio will be partially/absolutely misplaced. I have experienced two pairs of these broken in this way in nine months and i am a person who very rarely breaks their electronic merchandise. These endure in which other headphones of mine have experienced definitely no challenge. Sennheiser do not present spare cables for this product – they do so for seemingly each pair of headphones they have built aside from these ones. This is despite the fact that the cable is detachable and is distinctive to this model – you can’t use nearly anything generic, it has to be sennheiser’s possess, and it has to be for the 2. Consumer assistance failed to even know which pair of headphones i was referring to when i spoke to them about this – not even the preceding hd two.

Great headphones that are best for the tiny head brigade. These sennheiser headphones are a very fashionable hunting pair of headphones. I liked the point that they appear a bit more girly than most headphonesthe measurement – the most effective factor about these was the size. I have a little head and have experienced troubles with a whole lot of headphones. They are usually much too large for my head and even on the smallest configurations the ear pads generally sit also considerably down on the aspect of my head. These had been cosy and comfy on my head. The seem – i imagined the seem was very crisp. I listened to some orchestra new music and was surely conscious that i could hear all the devices much more plainly. I imagine the headphones did a great work of chopping out sounds from outside the house much too. I have to admit that even though they were being greater than my latest £30 pair i am not sure they were that a great deal far better.

Good neutral closed-back headphone. These are a nice set of headphones and appear to be built to a reasonable standard. They’re lightweight and fold down nicely to be stored in the included pouch. These headphones are excellent for portability. Comfort is good, but only for short listening sessions. After around 40 mins i can feel discomfort and have to give my ears a rest. Clamping pressure is quite high on these compared to other headphones. Sound quality is generally good and i’m happy with the flat response from these headphones. Mids and highs are well defined and clear. Bass is ok, but they do struggle with sub-bass, which is unusual for a closed back headphone, however, i think this is due in part to the flat design of the ear pads causing an insufficient seal (even though they clamp quite strongly).

Reasonable headphones but cable don’t last. They are light and foldable, no complains on sound quality. I generally like using them, both for connecting to laptop and listening to podcasts on phone during walking. Only after prolonged usage (e. More than 5 hours) they become slightly unconformable. Cable is quite long which can be good when in home, less when during walking when phone sits in your pocket. The cable is also the weakest element. I had a few sennheiser headphones, and all developed faults in their cables. This one was not different, and i lost sound in one side (though i can get it back for short time when i try bending the jack). The cable is detachable, but i was not able to find anybody selling replacements.

Great quality sound, shame about the comfort level. . The sound quality on these headphones is fantastic. The sound is clear and the bass tones are good. They look and feel like a quality set and are nice and portable – folding up smaller than you would expect them to.They come with a little carry pouch too to keep them slightly protected, although it’s soft so it’s not going to protect against any impact if you carry them around in a bag. The only problem is that the ear pads are small and the band is quite tight. This equates to discomfort after an hour or so of wearing them. It’s a shame as other than this they tick every box for me.

I like the folding design of these – makes them neat and compact when not in use. The overall feel of them is good but they still squeeze and make my ears feel numb after wearing them for awhile. Sound quality is very good – i mainly use headphones to watch movies / tv on an android tablet – and it’s always handy to have a pair of wired headphones rather than just bluetooth ones. Overall good design and qaulity sound.

Inoffensive but uninspiring. I like sennheiser headphones but can’t get on with this set. They are well built and the sound quality is pretty decent. It’s not brilliant, the small earpads are undoubtedly a factor in that, but it does the job. Presumably portability is a bigger motivator in purchasing a set of headphones such as these rather than ultimate sound quality. I don’t have a particularly big head, but the headband is massive on me and i had to adjust the ear pieces quite a long way up the band for it to fit. Strangely, it’s also very tight and after 30 minutes or so my poor ears are pretty uncomfortable and have had enough of wearing the set. The remote works pretty well but note that there are different versions of the product depending on whether you will use them with ios or android. The buttons on the remote respond nicely and although it’s quite close to your ear, with three controls it isn’t difficult to use.

Exceptionally comfortable with quality sound and good control buttons. The most noticeable thing about these on the ear headphones is how comfortable they are.   the padding is soft and they’re not skull-crushers so can i can wear them for hours on end.   the sound is beautifully balanced and the bass is just perfect and doesn’t overwhelm the overall sound.   they don’t kill external sound but do keep a fair bit out.   the plastic headband is springy but well made and the pads are mounted on sliders and are simple to adjust for the perfect fit. The three intergrated mic controls buttons on the detachable cable – volume up, pause / answer / next track, volume up – work perfectly with my samsung tab s2 but the volume buttons don’t work with my oppo android phone although the answer button does for incoming calls and the mic works perfectly.     foldable with a right angle jack pin, there’s silky draw-string bag included in the box.   overall these are, for the money, an excellent pair of mid range on the ear headphones from sennheiser.

Great sound, light and comfortable. First and foremost the sound quality of these headphones is of a high standard. They handle low-end bass and give a faithful rendition of top-end sounds. They cancel out most other noises so you feel really emersed in the music. Moving on to the build – they are very light and comfortable, to the point that you almost forget you are wearing them. They fold up so you can put them in your pocket, but to me that just makes them unnecessarily fragile. Don’t get me wrong, these are well put together and i suspect will last well, but i like headphones to be durable to the point of indestructable. The design isn’t my cup of tea, but that’s for the buyer to decide.

Not comfortable for long wearing. These headphones are stylish and appear well made. The sound quality is pretty darned good from what i can tell (on an android phone- i wasn’t able to test the extra functionality for iphone). The sound is better than with a pair of sony on-ear phones, for example. The cushioned earpieces are good at blocking outside sound. As others have mentioned, the design with the folding headband which is a fixed size but lets the earpieces slide to adjust, is well thought out and it feels snug and secure on my head. However as a glasses wearer i find this makes my ears ache after a while of wearing, as it presses my ears against my glasses. Adjusting the size doesn’t seem to help, but pushing the headphones slightly forward to adjust the angle helps a bit. However this doesn’t feel completely natural and leaves the back of my ears uncovered. So, for me, earbuds seem to be better, although i acknowledge you will likely get a better sound quality from these.

Sennheiser foldable headphones. I was very pleased to receive these headphones as a trial version, as i wanted to see what they were like compared with my current pair: which are the sennheiser px 100-ii foldable open mini on-ear headphone, which i’ve had for 4 or 5 years and are going strong, although the ear foam pieces are starting to look worn. The px 100 folds down a lot thinner than the hd2. 30i, mostly because you can fold the ear pieces flat in the px 100 and the ear pieces have much less padding. 30i folds up pretty neatly, the ear pieces can slide up and down to allow for head size and i haven’t quite got the optimal position yet but they are pretty neat. They also come with a soft carry bag. The ear pieces – closed ear – are very well padded and both i and my partner find them comfortable to wear. The sound is interesting, i haven’t had closed ear headphones before and i think i can play things even more quietly than normal and still get good sound. I use mine in an open plan office. I can hear myself eat when wearing them, its not obtrusive but it is slightly odd. I haven’t worn them on and off for several days at a time but think i might find them more comfortable that the open ear head phones. I can’t compare them to bigger closed ear head phones but i think you have all the sennheiser quality in a fairly small package and i like them. Finally, you would need to think about how you transport them as the carry bag won’t protect them from anything heavy but my px 100s have survived a carry bag for years, so i’m sure it can be done.

Great quality mobile device headphones. A great quality set of headphones, aimed squarely at mobile devices – the “sound to hit the street with” according to the promotional blurb. So it’s in this context that i’ve used and review these phones. Build quality is very good – they are solid whilst being collapsible. The phone pads completely cover your ears, which ensures no sound leakage (one of my pet hates) and also shuts off a significant amount of the world around you. These would be perfect for a commute or a plane/train journey. The headband is of a quirky design – it doesn’t retract/extend like most headphone bands, its length stays fixed. Rather the pads themselves move up and down over an approximately 3-inch track at each far end. Looks a little odd, especially if you are smaller of head, as you then have anything up to a couple of inches of spare headband protruding past the end of the pads. The pads themselves sit tight to your ear and exert some pressure, but are comfortable and well made, you soon forget they are there.

These headphones are really fantastic. The sound quality is exactly what you’d expect from sennheiser. The volume is adjustable via controls on the cord that goes to the jack. The headphones fold over on the stems on both sides to make them more portable and you do get a neat little carry bag to keep them in. They are very comfortable indeed to wear, with padded / cushioned earpieces. There is a sticker on the box that says they are for the samsung galaxy and other phones, though they also work perfectly well plugged into a computer audio output socket. Very suitable for use when recording.

Look better than they sound. Stylish and lightweight, but that is about it. You do get more detail and less noise, than with cheap headphones, but for £20-30 you can find a headset that is more comfortable, with better sound insulation and better sound production. I am not convinced of the claims of robust and durability, nor are they exceptionally portable. Why an emphasis on bass, rather than a more balanced sound?some female smartphone users, will like the sophistaced appearance, but if looks are not your main criteria you can do better.

For ipad / iphone – for my musical preferences using an android sadly the bass boost doesn’t improve my listening experience. . Note for fullest functioning you need an iphone or an ipad for these headphones. The description doesn’t make this clear but the packaging says clearly for iphone/ipad. My initial review was written from android and i couldn’t get the bass level to change, but using with an iphone brought out the full functionality. If you have an android be aware you can only get basic use. Headphones are such a personal thing – one man’s fab tune is another man’s nightmare – so this review can only be taken to be my personal experience. The headphones are a neat design with a curious folding earcup which at least makes the whole thing a little easier to squeeze into your bag. There is a volume control and mute button on the cable but this is surprisingly close to the ear so you can’t see what you’re doing with the headphones on. The mute button worked fine but i couldn’t get the + or – buttons to work on mine. The box does blare “for ipad iphone and all other i i i’s.

Nice headphones that are perfect for the small head brigade. These sennheiser headphones are a very stylish looking pair of headphones. I liked the fact that they look a bit more girly than most headphonesthe size – the best thing about these was the size. I have a small head and have had problems with a lot of headphones. They are usually too big for my head and even on the smallest settings the ear pads often sit too far down on the side of my head. These were snug and comfortable on my head. The sound – i thought the sound was very crisp. I listened to some orchestra music and was definitely aware that i could hear all the instruments more clearly. I think the headphones did a good job of cutting out sounds from outside too. I have to admit that whilst they were better than my current £30 pair i am not sure they were that much better.

These are very comfortable headphones – i usually use earbuds but have found these to give far greater clarity and they cut out more external noise – which means i didn’t need to increase the volume whilst walking in a noisy street environment. I also tested onboard a flight and again noted far less external noise. The headphones are increadibly comfortable on – especially on the ears. The microphone is also very clear when using for phone calls. The pause button worked on the set i have but it didn’t control the volume – not sure if this is a compatibility issue with iphones or if mine is defective. The earphones come with a carry pouch and fold quite neatly. Would have given 5 stars if the volume control buttons worked as the clearest headphones i have used.

Lots of style but disappointing sound. . Slimline, compact cans like these are intended for on-the-go lifestyles. They will no doubt be judged on portability and looks as well as sound quality – so lets take these qualities in that order. On the face of it portability is good. The cans are light and slim with very soft, plush leatherette earpads which help insulate the listener from background noise and distractions. Unfortunately i found the springiness just too much and couldn’t forget i was wearing them. In fact after 15 mins or so the pressure was too much. I’m hat size 60 so perhaps they will be better for somone with a smaller head. I wasn’t impressed with the way the cans folded either (see one of the photos in the description) and didn’t find that particularly compact. The hinge seems quite flimsy and i doubt would stand up to being sat on or dropped too far onto a hard surface.

Light as a feather, comfortable headphones. . Update (april 2017): have downgraded my rating from 4 to 3 stars. The ear phones became less comfortable quite quickly and kind of pressed against the rim of my ears – no where near as comfy as ear cans that suround the outer ear. After using them to watch a film my ears would be a little sore at the rims – always aware i was wearing them. The kids also started going back to the sony standard big headphones we have. They became used only infrequently. A few weeks ago the jack which i used to plug them into my laptop cracked and bent – the metal around the wiring inside is thin and now despite my best attempts at straightening the jack one headphone has no sound. Not impressed given the price pointwe have only had these headphones a couple of days but they are proving very popular in our household. They feel “light as a feather” at jut a touch over 100g for the actual headphones and lead but are super soft. The ear pads have extra padding around the outside and the inner ear pads are completely padded with foam (almost level) with the outer rim.

Lovely phones, at a price reflecting the features and the appearance. My old ears are going (anything much above 6 khz and i’m struggling), and i don’t have any high-quality equipment – only my laptop (most listening via youtube) and a newish but cheap radio/cd player. However, i get perfectly good sound quality using a pair of amazon basics on-ear phones, currently priced at £14, and these are what i’ve used as the baseline. The sennheiser phones are the first modern high-quality pair i’ve tried. They look really good, and the padding on both the headband and the earpieces is very comfortable. Importantly, the sound is nice and clear. However …i couldn’t find the spec for the sennheisers on the manufacturer’s website, and had to get them from a review. According to this, the frequency range is 12 hz-22,000 hz; one of the claimed features is “emphasis on bass”, but the amazon pair claims better frequency range – 18-22,000 hz (if you believe specs, and if you can actually hear that low – i can’t, and for us wrinklies the low frequencies are still audible). The sennheisers supposedly provide slightly greater volume (115 db as opposed to 101 db), but in my view anything over 100 db is bad news.
