Espresso grinder for typical use. Fantastic functionality in line with the selling price.

I was not confident what to go for in this sector where finances lines are reasonably new, but resolved to consider a likelihood for less than £200, if it goes completely wrong that is not also a great deal to eliminate and why must it go completely wrong, either it can do what it suggests or it is likely to fail as a product or service. So, in just about every regard pretty content. Straightforward to use, functional, wide wide variety of grind configurations, will make light operate of the grinding, espresso tastes as good as in the ideal regional coffee store in oxford (the lacking bean), and eventually silent and unmessy. I have made use of it to make espressos in our last bookshop/cafe and it truly is a pleasure to work.

  • 60 grind settings
  • Dose automatically adjusts as you tweak your grind size
  • Choose between cups (filter) and shots (espresso)
  • LCD display
  • 450g removable bean hopper

Very good grinder if like me you need to vary the grind frequently (exprsso/drip). Really well made, functions perfectly and all the bits & bobs fit nicely. Instruction booklet is a model as to how it should be done. Not often i say this but some one has put a lot of thought into its design and properly supervised its production in china (important regarding quality and longevity).

Good for french press, drip, percolator: great. If you do not want espresso it is best. For french press, drip and percolator (if folks even now have them) it is really good – it matches the career that far more high-priced machines do. It is a nice style, you can clear the burrs simply, and can shim them as time goes on to tighten them up if demands be. Quietish, looks quite nice on the worktop. The dose timer is a little bit of a gimmick but it is ok. In the espresso reaches on the other hand. I risked it with an (admittedly fussy) la pavoni – and bought far better effects from a cheap hand grinder.

Uncomplicated setup, crazy high-quality and sturdiness. Effortless crema, simple set up, insane high quality and sturdiness. Spoke to a regional barista who really, definitely is aware of his things and he just bought a person and stated they were the ideal.

Sage by Heston Blumenthal the Smart Grinder Pro, 165 Watt – Black : Great, consistent burr grinder. The grinder has been running great since i got it. It changed my life as i was using a manual grinder before. Probably my most appreciated kitchen appliance so far. There was a bit of trial and error for the first couple of weeks to find the right grinding fineness for my espresso machine but i know have caught the hang of it. It’s very easy to use, fast, a bit on the noisy side. The detachable (magnetic) tray is great to quickly clean it. Once it’s set, you don’t even need to use the buttons. Just push your filter holder into it and the grinding starts. I’m no expert but as far as i can see, the grinding has been consistent.

Great if you enjoy tweaking settings to get good results. . Settings don’t work ‘out of the box’ for every machine. Takes quite a while (and several bags of beans) to dial in the settings. Then the grind needs to be tweaked for each different bean type that you use. Suggest using a measuring shot glass to dial in settings. Massive bean holder capacity.

Consistent, quality and enjoyable product for a great coffee experience. . An expensive item, a treat, however i’m so glad we bought this. So many options, very consistent grind and looks superb on our kitchen units. Been using this for 6months now without any faults at all.

Excellent grinder and better for being independent of a coffee. Excellent grinder and better for being independent of a coffee machine. Love the ability to alter grind and time to grind so adjusting the amount of coffee.

Brilliant coffee grinder with excellent settings – certainly recommended.

Great mid-range grinder for a proper espresso. Tl;dr: the primary feature for me in any grinder is: does it grind fine enough for a proper espresso, and this one certainly does. I am an espresso drinker and a coffee enthusiast, i’ve used several different grinders and i can say with some certainty that i know what to look for in a good grinder. The sage smart grinder pro is a really good grinder for the money. I can’t comment yet on longevity, but after two months of use i can say this:- it certainly grinds fine enough for espresso. – it doesn’t build up static like some other mid-range burr grinders. – it does have a few features that are very useful and make it a “smart” grinder indeed. I’d wager that other reviewers commenting that it is not suitable for espresso either have not adjusted properly for different beans or did not fiddle with the inner adjustment (not present in the older version of this grinder), which is often necessary to grind fine enough for espresso with some beans. The smart grinder pro grinds fine enough to choke my gaggia glassic. The other things i like:- the grind setting saves to memory by long pressing the timer (leftmost) knob.

This is my first grinder, so i have no comparison with any other grinder. What i can say is that the first time i used it, i managed to get the best crema from coffee that i’d made (till that point in time). It’s been consistent and i seem to get the right grind for my gaggia classic with setting 14. I’ve also tried it once for filter coffee with the “coarse” setting (can’t recall the exact setting), and that produced a few good cups of coffee.

My family consists of avid coffee lovers and there are usually many different bean types at home to choose from, as consumption is quite high too. I will skip the negative effects of coffee and leave that to your consideration, but eventually dad realized that freshly grounded coffee was the best, and he loved the ability of this particular coffee grinder to grind small quantities too that would be consumed in a day or 2 and thus keep the fresh energizing coffee aroma. The grinder is packed with features, has many settings modes and a display too and with its help you can adjust the grinding mode as you like it. The grinder was easy to install and set up, and the provided manual caused no issues in the areas needing further help. We have been using the grinder for more than 3 months and so far we are very happy with it – i certainly hope it stays that way.

Great for french press, drip, percolator: perfect. If you don’t want espresso it’s perfect. For french press, drip and percolator (if people still have them) it’s great – it matches the job that more expensive machines do. It is a nice design, you can clean the burrs easily, and can shim them as time goes on to tighten them up if needs be. Quietish, looks very nice on the worktop. The dose timer is a bit of a gimmick but it’s ok. In the espresso reaches however. I risked it with an (admittedly fussy) la pavoni – and got better results from a cheap hand grinder.

Does as it should, but still having a devil of a job getting the grind just right for my dual-boiler sage espresso machine. Practice, no doubt, will make perfect. After a couple of years’ use, the only additional comment i would make, is that the inability for the grinder to retain your settings in the event of a power failure (common, here), is irritating.

It is easy to use and a variety of settings to assist. I have not had this grinder long enough to give a fair review, however i do think that it as been well thought out and it appears to be well constructed, it is easy to use and a variety of settings to assist in obtaining the brew for personal tastes. I think that its appearance is pleasing my own choice is all black but the silver and red models are equally attractive. At tis time i have been unable to obtain what i consider to be consistant strengths of coffee from my coffee machine so i do not think that i have mastered all of the settings available on the grinder, when i have managed that i will certainly give it 5 stars.

I wasn’t sure what to go for in this market where budget lines are relatively new, but decided to take a chance for less than £200, if it goes wrong that’s not too much to lose and why should it go wrong, either it can do what it says or it is going to fail as a product. So, in every respect very happy. Easy to use, versatile, wide variety of grind settings, makes light work of the grinding, espresso tastes as good as in the best local coffee shop in oxford (the missing bean), and finally quiet and unmessy. I have used it to make espressos in our last bookshop/cafe and it’s a pleasure to operate.
