Electric Burr Grinders

Genuinely not on commission. . Remaining the neurotic software that i am, i invested approximately 4 hrs making an attempt to choose what grinder to spend in (soon after my cuisinart began enjoying up). I know everyone implies getting the advice of the mid selection opinions but. This does far more than the trick. Its damned silent also thinking of its. Devoid of a question the quietest grinder i have owned – to put it into standpoint. My cat doesnt attack it like he did the very last one particular. I’d recommend this to any one.

I have a gaggia ‘coffee’ classic machine and its notorious for being difficult with finding the perfect grind, however this machine did the job perfectly. I was very surprised when i found a review on here saying that it doesn’t grind fine enough for espresso, because out of the 20 ‘espresso’ settings, i find that it works best on 15 (with 1 being the finest) – i get a 30 second drip with a fairly strong tamp. If i grind on 1 to 5 the coffee is far too fine and it doesn’t come through. So if you’re worried about whether this grinds fine enough for espresso then you can rest easy. The only negative of this machine is that the body is made of plastic and it feels/looks very cheap and flimsy – seems solid inside though.

Used it only 4 times but i love it so far, no hassle, select grind time, press a button, done, i was using a manual grinder, 4 to 5 mins for one espresso, 10 secs with this grinder, hope it lasts at least a few yearsedit: 25/05/17im taking one star away because of an electrical hum/buzz coming from the grinder, my house is properly grounded and v at the outlet is just fine, fingers crossed, im using it outside uk and it seems im not covered by warranty, was gona buy a duo temp pro machine, im thinking twice now. Here are the specifications for the Sage by Heston Blumenthal BCG600SIL the Dose Control Pro Coffee Grinder –:

  • 60 Grind Settings from Espresso to Plunger
  • High Torque, Direct Current Drive Motor
  • Adjustable Amount Dial
  • Precision Electronic Timer
  • Hands-free Grinding Cradle

Actually fantastic, unquestionably grinds fantastic ample for espresso. Actually great, surely grinds wonderful plenty of for espresso. Even goes much too good as the to start with endeavor choked my equipment. Just need to do a bit of testing with it, and is steady also.

Reviews from purchasers :

  • the coffee extraction was not as good as I had anticipated
  • What a great machine. The taste is so much better grinding
  • Good enough for me!

Yes, it is great for espresso. Yes, it is great for espresso. I have a gaggia classic and have been using this for several years. I have been grinding with a dualit which i took apart and adjusted for a finder grind. Eventually it destroyed itself and i upgraded to this sage grinder. It is well made, the bean hopper has an airtight seal to keep the beans fresh and i can grind directly into the portafilter. There are plenty of grind adjustments and the timer can be set so that you just press the button for the right amount of coffee. Of course, for espresso machines the most important question is will it grind fine enough for a good crema. The answer with this one is a definite yes. I use lavazza rossa and the coffees i have made look and taste amazing.

Simple to use and perfectly does job. Simple to use and perfectly does job. Minus one star for strong electrical noise/buzzing, that’s disappointing. So, now i am not sure about buying the dual boiler.

The taste is so much better grinding. The taste is so much better grinding fresh. Easy to use and takes up little space compared to my last bean to cup beast, the settings range is good, so you can play around to find exactly what you want.

The coffee extraction was not as good as i had anticipated. Recently purchased the sage duo temp pro coffee machine. I didn’t get the barista express (the next model up with inbuilt grinder) as i already had a coffee grinder. However, the coffee extraction was not as good as i had anticipated. My existing coffee grinder had plastic burrs, had served me well for a number of years, brewing coffee with a cafetiere. After doing a little research on upgrading my grinder, my findings are,the grinder is the most important part of your coffee set up. It’s the first place (apart from water) that you should spend your coffee equipment budget. Conical burrs are good – they reduce the footprint of your grinder. Ceramic extend the life of the burrs and allow more kg to be ground. Steel are better and flat steel burrs produce a better taste.

Finally a grinder that can actually grind for espresso. Works great with the gaggia classic. Really easy to use and took only a few minutes to set upworks great with a french press aswell on coarse grind.

Brought this to go with my gaggia classic and so far it has done the job perfectlyafter reading a few reviews of people saying it would not go fine enough for espresso, i straight away took the top burr out and adjusted the setting to 5 (default 6) then adjusted the main collar to 5. Ran a shot and took over 40 secs. After a bit of tweaking, now getting consistent shots at around 8-10 on the collar giving 2oz at 25secs. Easy to clean, very consistent grind, does throw some grind out the porter filter but all you have to do is, pause the grind half way knock it down and resume the grind. Only down side is the grind time can only be set in increments of seconds, would like to be able to grind for 10.

Great grinder, one of the best?. I’ve only tired three different grinders previously, but this is the best. Clouded by past experience of various problems of inconsistent grind, static cling, spill ages, wastage of beans when they can’t be run to empty, stale coffee getting trapped in the grinder, etc, i actually gave up grinding for a long time and bought pregound coffee instead. Wanted to the fresh gound coffee though so looked about for a few months to find a good grinder in my price range. Glad i found this one and bought it. Easy to fill and use – once you do some trial runs to fine tune the grind and time of grinding. Initially, for personal preference to get coffee how i like it, it took quite a few uses, but i used some older beans that i was intending to throw out anyway so no real loss. Would recommend that buyers take the time to experiment as after you have your settings sorted, it is so easy to use. I use the pause every time – i like to take out the porta filter part way through and give it a dunt onto the work mat to compact the grounds, then finish the filling.

Bought to replace dualit grinder which died after ten years hard graft. Dismissed current dualit product after reading how quality had dropped. Don’t normally buy celebrity branded products, but so pleased i ignored that prejudiced idea. Great grinder, with loads of selection of grind size from talc size to half brick (ok maybe not that big). Plus the burs can be adjust to allow for wear or size of grind fine tune. Only hope i get the years of service to match my old one, upto date i don’t see why not.

I bought this to go with a sage espresso machine. The control given by this grinder is exceptional. But after reading the manual and using the recommended grind settings, i produced a wonderful espresso first time, 5mm crema included. This grinder is a lot of money, i get that, but i promise you it’s worth it. If you’re after a great espresso grind, this will do the trick. The grind settings come in 60 increments, with 0 being the finest. On 15, i have perfect espresso. That’s plenty of room left for error. Can’t understand what people who say it’s not fine enough are doing.

This is so good: i just turn it on, press the button, turn it off, and i can start making my coffee. I no longer have to manually grind my beans for 5 minutes, this baby does the job in 6 seconds. It does grind fine enough for espresso. I just love to look at it, love to use it, i love it.

Really good, definitely grinds fine enough for espresso. Really good, definitely grinds fine enough for espresso. Even goes too fine as the first attempt choked my machine. Just need to do a bit of testing with it, and is consistent too.

Genuinely not on commission. . Being the neurotic tool that i am, i spent roughly 4 hours trying to decide what grinder to invest in (after my cuisinart started playing up). I know everyone suggests taking the advice of the mid range reviews but. This does more than the trick. Its damned quiet too considering its. Without a doubt the quietest grinder i’ve owned – to put it into perspective. My cat doesnt attack it like he did the last one. I’d recommend this to anyone.
