Full-size Food Processors

Good basic food processor that does what i need. I picked this up because i’m trying to cook more meals from scratch in a bid to be healthier so i wanted something to make soups and also cakes (because i know i’m not going to keep the health kick up for long). It’s the first time i’ve ever used a food processor but i found it quite straightforward although you have to twist the jug into position before the motor runs – something that took me a bit of getting used to, especially as the motor is pretty strong so it took me by surprise the first time. The processor comes with a number of blades and attachments – including slicers. I’m not sure i’ll need them all for what i’m planning to do, but it’s good to know there are options. The processor has two speeds and i liked the little sucker cups on the bottom, which help to keep it steady while it’s being used. I also found it quite compact so it didn’t take up much space in my cupboard. If you’re looking for something for display, then i thought that the red and black colour scheme looked smart and it suited my kitchen but if you’re looking for something more professional, you may find the plastic too flimsy for regular use. I’m not much of a cook so this is a basic product that perfectly met my needs and i would definitely buy another one as a replacement.

For the price (currently £45) this food processor is great value. – it is solidly built, to a high standard. – it works as well as other food processors i’ve used – great results making soups etc. – all the key attachments are there for chopping and grating- the blending jug is a useful attachment too – good for smoothies- the black and red colour scheme may not suit everyone but it is certainly bold.

I can’t be without it anymore. Hier sind die Spezifikationen für die Russell Hobbs Desire Food Processor 18511:

  • A multi-use Food Processor with 600W of power
  • 1 speed setting including pulse, with lid safety lock
  • Large 1.5L capacity bowl
  • Additional plastic jug blender attachment
  • Other attachments include: Rasping disc, Thick slicing disc and Coarse shredding disc, Dough tool, Plastic whisk and Spatula

Magical compact, efficient and goodlooking. My last one was twenty years old and i was impressed with this one. But be careful when cleaning as the blades are sharp.

Very good multi tasking processor. Russell hobbs 18511 desire food processor is a nice looking and reasonably compact food processor. Reading through the user guide it appears to be able to do just about any of the common, and less common, jobs required of a good food processor. Along with various blades and attachments it also comes with a blender jug to. Suit its array of tasks however it is only single speed which may mean some jobs take longer than they otherwise might. , the processor is well put together and works well. We used it several times over the past week (chopping, mashing and smoothie. Though its not as weighty as our previous processor, which we had for ten years without any issues. There’s more plastic and less metal, so its hard to imagine the russell hobbs lasting as long under the same heavy workload we’re likely give it.

A real asset to a starter kitchen, this is robust, well-designed, sensible and logical to use: there is a pleasing range of accessories and no sense of skimping on core functions which are reliable and intuitive. The set is good to handle ‘and fits together sensibly and logically. If you are an advanced cook you might look for a more sophisticated option which does more, but for the price, this is an excellent processor for a student kitchen or a youngster starting out a relationship with food.

Despite being overly plasticky looking this is a fairly capable unit. With its food processor and blender jugs provided you can blend, smoothie, blitz to your hearts content. With the blender jug in place i had a few issues that stuff got caught up around the sides. Also the slide in grater, slicer attachments feel very old school and would prefer the full disc with the blade as a full sheet of metal. Capacity is good for both vessels and i was impressed with the blitzing speed. This comes from someone that has used blenders (consumer and commercial for many years). Length to plug from unit is good enough for any kitchen too. Overall for the price its a pretty good unit. Doesnt specialise in any area but you’ll have good milkshakes, smoothies and purees in no time at all.

Processes well and looks nice. The russell hobbs food processor is very competent. As food processors go, it has most of the blades you will need and it seems robust. I did notice that some customers complained about the fitting and that they couldn’t close the lid. The way the attachments are connected makes this food processor a little tricky to use. Normally in other brands you place the spindle and then it just clicks in. In this one you have to be precise and ensure it is seated correctly. It isn’t a ‘biggy’, but if you are in a rush and most people are then you will have issues. It processes the food well, the blades are sharp and cut as it should. Overall a good food processor, i have only used it a few times and so far no issues. Only time will tell if it is reliable as my last which lasted a good 8 years. But, for the price it is reasonably priced and i expect it to last a few years. I have noticed if you want something to last 8-10 years then you have to pay the price. But, if like me you use this for occasional use then why would you pay over the odds.

Great value for those starting out. . This is one of the cheeper food processors on the market but that doesn’t mean you should ignore it. I tested this by making a cheese, onion and potato pie. Something i do on a regular basis. Using the chopping blade, i made the pastry. It only takes a couple of minutes, blending the flour and butter together, then slowly adding water until the mix clumps and gets carried around the mixing bowl. This is a bit noisier than my regular one, but manages this task just as well. While the pastry was chilled, i cleaned the bowl and then used the grater attachment. While this works okay, the one supplied is a bit on the fine (small) side. Unlike my normal one, this uses inserts for a plastic disk rather than separate disks for each grater. The big difference being that cheese and other stuff gets stuck under the disk. It just means that you will have to unblock it if you grate large amount of cheese (etc. )i used the slicing insert to thinly slice some new potatos (same problems as grating. )either way, once i made the pie, you couldn’t tell that it had been made with a £45 food processor, rather than my £200 one.

“food processors are great”. “food processors are great” – the opening words to the blur song advert. This particular food processor certainly fits into that category. It does the job excellently. It comes with multiple tools (slicing disk, whisk etc. The size is right, not too small, not too big. It looks stylish in its red and black design and sits well on the worktop with its non-slip base. There is a separate jug too. It does everything you would want from a food processor.

Fair value for money, stylish food processor. This is a very stylish mid price range, food processor. The unit itself is a very stylish red and black colour. It looks and feels like it is good quality and is very well made and such good value for money for the price. It comes with a large blending bowl with lid and a blending jug with lid and has a selection of blades. It has a 2 speed motor for high or low speed blending and a turbo or pulse option, controlled via the dial on the front. The processor has a twist lock function and it won’t work until it is correctly locked into place, which is a good safety feature and ensures that everything is in place properly before you use it. There is a simple to understand instruction booklet provided to help you set up and explain what the parts are for. The jug has a capped lid, so you can add ingredients to it as you use it and the bowl also has a compartment for adding ingredients with a plunger to push in larger ingredients. Has an average sized footprint for a unit of this type and a reasonable length cable.

Excellent – a bit of a relevation. I have been using this a great deal of late for baby food, salad dressings, juicing and so on. I haven’t had it for long but it has been a boon. I have found it easy to use and really handy.

At 600w this ‘russell hobbs 18511 food processor’ is powerful, and though amazon publicity blurb states “1 speed setting including pulse” it has in fact 2 speed settings, low or high, and a turbo setting (for pulse). It is fully functional and suitable for mixing, blending, shredding, slicing, grating etc. In addition to the main food processor motor unit with its suction feet (for stability) other parts are a 1. 5l capacity blending jug and a 2. 5l processing bowl, plus pusher, rasping disc, thick slicing disc, coarse shredding disc etc. There is a brief yet straightforward instruction leaflet with helpful illustrations of the various components of the processor, blade unit, mixer, creamer, slicers, graters etc. The leaflet is a bit misleading as there seems to be no separate seal between containers and blade unit, and there is no special spatula or whisk (though the mixer, creamer etc. Illustrations on the box give added information to the text of the leaflet – and all becomes clear as the parts are put together. Both jug and bowl fit with a clockwise twist lock. For blending there is a jug lid incorporating a cap over the hole for adding ingredients. For processing there is provision for fitting alternative blades with options for spindle support or disc, and there is an inlet tube (and a pusher for adding ingredients). Guidance is provided on quantities of ingredients, speeds for differing ingredients, processing times etc.

Easy to set up and use with great results. A very good food processor- doesn’t have loads of functions and only one speed [plus boost] but it does pretty much everything you need on a day-to-day basis and to get a blender jug as well for under fifty quid is pretty good going. It’s well built and feels like it will last a good few years and it functions perfectly. Easy to set up and use with great results. Can’t ask for much more at this price-point.

Colourful powerful food processor. . I found the russell hobbs food processor, first of all very colourful when removed form the packaging, the blood red and and black, made a very nice striking contrast and really look great on the kitchen unit. I found the blender easy enough to assemble and i decided to chop strawberries as its first mission,i find it very powerful and once it was done, you find yourself thinking of what else to use it foras well as the food processor, you get a 1. 5 litre bowl, blender attachment,1 spatula,1 dough tool,1 plastic whisk, and one rasping disc. Can also be used for blending, shredding and slicing,i was very impressed by this product and think it is at a very competitive price too.

Simple and stylish and good value for money. This product has been available for about 5 years and it seems as those the initial batches might have had some issues, but i haven’t experienced any of these issues with the model i have received. As i opened the box, i found the instruction booklet, which is short and sweet, but i was pleased to see that it uses words as well as pictures, rather than some products i have purchased recently, which contain instructions in pictures only, which can at times be utterly baffling. Whilst short, the instructions still find space to include two short recipes for coriander pesto and for quick cheese and tomato pizzas. The food processor itself is attractive in a striking black and red which flashes of silver and looks really smart on my kitchen counter. The controls is managed by a single central dial to pulse of choose a speed of processing. There are a number of different attachments as well as the choice between the standard processing bowl or a blender jug for mixing smoothies or soups more easily. This is a good starter processor, but it doesn’t have the wealth of attachments which other pricier models have, but for less than fifty quid, there aren’t many processors of this quality on the market which also include a blender. If your processing needs are for slicing, grating, chopping and blending, this may well be the machine for you, as a machine with copious numbers of attachments might just take up additional cupboard space and never be used.

Really is a multi-functional piece. Does everything you would expect of a food processor. When you have it you will wonder how you ever managed without it. Superb especially on making dough for home made bread.
