Revel CCM201B Super Chopper : Great product Super Chopper indeed! And pretty good value for money!

If you need to chop any food item, this is the thing for you. There are double blades which make short work of tough nuts and seeds but also ginger root which most of their branches have used struggles with. But not this, if you wanna make a curry just put your ginger, garlic and other stuff in and it’ll be right in moments. The two downsides, for me are that it’s pretty fiddly to wash (though no more so than other handheld devices) and it is pretty big, so takes up space in the kitchen. My advice is, if you need one of these and have the space then go for it is brilliant. However if you don’t have too much space in the kitchen then perhaps something smaller would suit you.

A whopper of a chopperbut a bit of a let down when you get to the nitty gritty. This is a bit of a whopper of a chooper. It arrives in a big old clunky box and when it is put together it sits as quite a lrge piece of equipment but the actual bowl for chopping is really quite tiny and also made of metal which makes it nice and sturdy but means you cannot see how your chopping is going leading to guesswork on when something might be ready. Not only can you not see what you are chopping but it doesn’t seem to slice everything evenly so you end up with some of your veg almost pulverised and some in much larger chunks. I think this happens more if you overfill it but as i have only been using single onions and not trying to chop crazy amounts this seems to be a bit of a flaw. I have not tried using this to chop nuts or seeds but i have a suspicion this is where the machine will excel a little more as these require more force to get through and will respond better to more power. That said if this is the case then it should be marketed in a slightly more specialist way as for ordinary veggies it seems to miss the mark somewhat. The machine is also noisier than i had expected. I didn’t expect it to be anywhere near silent but i guess as it has a super powerful motor this comes with a bit of super noise as well. I don’t by any means think this is a terrible piece of kit but i can’t help thinking that had a little more thought gone into how it was to be used and marketing in the right way instead of fitting the most powerful motor into the smallest space and marketing as a generic kitchen chopper then it would be a bit more successful as a kitchen gadget.

Revel CCM201B Super Chopper, 500 W, Black

  • 500W mains powered Super Chopper. A powerful hopper for preparing everyday ingredients such as chopping meats, fruits and vegetables and chopping nuts and seeds
  • Single touch button for quick pulsing and continuous activation. Safety switch on lid locking for added safety while using the chopper
  • Stainless steel quad blade that allows you to chop through ingredients with ease and a unique food scraper that allows you to fold chopped stuck food on the side of the bowl back into the quad blade
  • Removable and sturdy stainless steel 500ml bowl. A specially designed spatula to remove the chopped contents of the bowl. All removable parts are dishwasher safe
  • The Revel Super Chopper comes with a one year warranty

This revel super chopper is very effective at chopping small amounts of food. You can chop very finely in constant mode or use the pulse action for a more controled action. The scraper is a good idea though there are a few negative points. You can’t see what you are chopping or if it is the required consistency, you have to take it to pieces in order to check. When undoing the bowl the blades can be stuck at the top in the scraper so you do have to take great care not to cut yourself. The bowl is very sturdy and the whole unit looks good on any counter. The price is reasonable and it is a very useful addition to the kitchen. I would highly recommend this chopper. After using for sometime i love it.

Too big, too noisy and can’t see what you’re chopping. With a 500ml hopper i thought this would be useful to fit the gap between our stick blender and full food processor, so i was surprised by the size of it. It’s huge; the base takes up as much space as our very large smoothie maker. You get the base, hopper, the blades (which can be separated out into 2 or 4 depending on how coarse a chop you want), a side scraper and the lid, plus a spatula. It won’t work unless you’ve got it securely closed (a good thing given how sharp the blades are and how powerful the motor) and it took me a couple of goes to get it started. It can be used on pulse or continuous but unfortunately it is really noisy. The scraper tool is quite a good idea, but if you use it you can’t see inside the hopper; although you can’t really see in well even without it as the hopper is stainless steel. On an asthetic note, the power button isn’t backlit. It did a good job, but i don’t like not being able to see inside it and this has put me off using it much. For me there are just too many negatives to recommend it.

Choppers are 10 a penny, everyone makes them, and any home cook like myself is always looking for something that can make things easier. In saying that, i love prepping veg, i try to make my salads look as if they were prepared with love. This one is big and ugly, and you have no idea what is happening when you chop, because some idiot designer has made the bowl stainless steel. It does chop like a tasmanian devil though.

Handy, powerful useful little chopper. This is a very useful and compact kitchen chopper, easy to clean and perfect for when you don`t want to chop by hand or only need a few things sliced/diced/chopped. It`s a little noisy, but then it has a pretty good motorpower – hence the “super” – for such a small device. No complaints, and i`m sure it`ll get plenty of use.

Chops well but you can’t see what you are chopping. This items comes in standard packaging – a colourful box with everything packed inside, with the usual bags and cardboard bits. Once out of the box, you just need to snap a couple of parts together, and you are ready to chop. Even that said, that bit of assembly seems a bit needless to me. With a bit of thought applied to the design, it could have come already assembled. The chopper comprises a big black base unit that contains the motor. A metal tub fits on the top, and a chopping blade goes inside that. You then put whatever you want to chop into the tub, slot in the stirring thing and the cover, and then press the big button to chop. The button has a pulse feature, so you can do a quick chop or a thorough blitzing. The big problem with this is that the tub is metal.

Bucking the trendthree stars from me. I have a handy wee morphy richards chopper which i used for everything. She sits out on the work surface and chops my opinions with aplomb. When offered the revel on vine i thought give that bad boy a go and pressed my yes please button. It arrived with little fanfare in a garish box. On taking said chopper out and washing and assembling i again didn’t feel that blown away. On using well i was less than unimpressed. I had to go by sound alone to decide if it was chopped enough or not. I mushed things instead of chopping them.

Neat and compact and simple and efficient and quick to use. . Neat and compact and simple and efficient and quick to use. As other reviewers have stated, handle this with care during set-up, as you can cut your fingers on the blade. The scraper is useful to avoid cuts when in use. In use, it is very quick to operate and gives and excellent, consistent result. You vary the consistency with the pulse button. You have to open the top to see how you are doing, as the sides are not see-through. It’s not got a large capacity, so there are some things you couldn’t do with it, unless you do some ingredients in a couple of goes. It will chop anything with ease. As it is quite compact it doesn’t take up much storage space and is quite light.

I like this chopper a lot – it really is very powerful for the size of it and saves getting my huge one of the cupboards when i just need to chop smaller things like onions and nuts etc. The main downside for me is that there isn’t a glass/plastic bowl that you can see through. So, when chopping (and especially at the moment as its new and i haven’t learnt how long to leave it chopping for yet) it’s difficult to know when to stop and prevent over chopping. I have to take it apart to check then put back together to resume chopping of needed. It chops nuts and seeds well and i also use this for meat and onions.

Not a name i know, so hesitant – it arrived in a box with spanish all over it, so again, hesitant. As i think others have said, this really is a chopper for small things – nuts, seeds, coffee beans – and for those it is excellent. Pros:it’s really sharp, and certainly powerful enough that i would have confidence in it to chop whatever’s requiredeasy to use, one touch button with pulse featureessentially a fantastic alternative to a pestle and mortar, or big mixer for grindingcons:really is quite small, so limited use. Steel bowl makes it difficult to know what consistency ingredients have reached – easier to tell with hard things like nuts as you can hear itin all, really quite impressed and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend for those small grinder tasks.

A robust chopper unit, smaller than some blenders and therefore useful for small quantities. The blades are very sharp – so care should be taken when dismantling/ cleaning and it is dishwasher proof (bar the base unit, obviously). The stainless-steel bowl is resilient but it means that the view of the contents is restricted and so you have to dismantle to check the progress and consistency. The food scrapper is a good idea and the unit comes with a spatula for food extraction. I liked the soft press, which offered a pulse function – but again this would have been more useful with a view of the contents.

I like the compact design, and it is very well made and powerful. A useful addition to the kitchen and a real time saver. As others have mentioned, however, i would urge caution when changing and cleaning the blades. They are extremely sharp and seem less easy to handle than with a single blade chopper i have used in the past. I would be reluctant to leave others (particularly children) to change or clean the blades. So, a qualified recommendation for the cooking enthusiast.

I’ve got a full sized food processor and have to say that if i’m just going to making something small like a spice mix or meat rub it really is a pain to have to dig it out of the cupboard, set it up and clean it afterwards so it’s always a 50/50 decision on if to do that or just use a mortar and pestle. Thankfully this makes it a much easier propositionit’s compact enough that it can just be stored on a work top in the same way your kettle or toaster is but big enough that it can be used for all but the largest of tasks. The whole thing comes apart and reassembles very easily and the food scraper is a great touch meaning you don’t need to stop half way through to scrap ingredients stuck to the side away with a spatula and the motor is powerful enough for most jobs, including things like nuts which can sometimes cause motors to struggle. The only drawback is that you can’t actually see it in action as it’s enclosed in a steel bowl rather than a see through plastic one but that’s no real hardship.

Really robust chopping machine. The motor is powerful enough to chop most food items. Larger foodstuff needs to be cut down to fit in, and it’s easy to use. The stainless steel bowl element means you can’t see the progress of the chopping, but you get used to how it works after a while. I found it good for larger items i struggle with, like big carrots and onions, my other half makes a lot of soup, and liked the way he could chop food down into smaller pieces so easily. Other than the base, all other elements fit into the dishwasher. Watch the blade – it’s sharp alright .

This chops as well as our old chopper, is easy to use, and is easy to clean. The instructions are very simple – press lightly for a burst, and harder for continuous. The outer casing of the bowl is clear plastic. It would be good to see inside the bowl when chopping, however the, the inner bowl is stainless steel, which is strong, but means you can’t see the food chopping. It would be nice to see the chopping progress, but overall this chopper does the job well.

That’s the eternal question asked by chefs everywhere. For some, you can’t beat chopping foodstuffs with a sharp knife. However, there are some things like coffeee beans which have to be blitzed in a machine. This revel super chopper does most things a typical chopper/blender does. It does however have quite a small bowl. To chop a medium sized onion you need to chop it into quarters first to fit it in. The scaper element also obliterates what’s going on inside the blender which i didn’t like. I prefer to see whats going on.

Powerful, sharp and rapid. . This is a super chopper, much more powerful than the small processor i currently have. I make my own muesli bars, and my old mini processor used to really struggle with chopping dates to a reasonable consistency. . I’m happy to say this revel works a dream. Down to a much more powerful motor, and a super sharp quad blade. It’s a good looking bit of kit, and seems to be very robust. Everything but the base can go in the dishwasher, but care must be taken with the blade. The food scraper is a great idea, but you have to dismantle to see progress. After a while, and especially with dry ingredients like nuts, seeds or spices you can tell by ear. I have tended to stick to using the pulse feature as it works very quickly.

Quick and easy but use with caution especially when setting up. . Revel ccm201b super chopper is one kitchen gadget i would advise use with caution as even setting the machine up can cause a very painful cut. I would advise follow the instructions carefully to prevent any painful accidents. The good points are that i was able to cut up my vegetables in super quick time and with the added bonus they were in a nice even chopped size, which for some of my meals can be important especially if entertaining. It really saves time when preparing meals. This is one machine which works very quickly, therefore i would advise you use the pulse method if you do not want your vegetables cut up very finely. The reason i do like this machine as it is so handy for chopping up onions therefore no more tears streaming down my face and eyes stinging out of my head so for this reason alone i do believe this is one kitchen gadget which will be getting a lot of use from me.
