Q ACOUSTICS Q Acoustics 2020i Graph : For the price 5 Star

Bookshelf Speakers

If you want the audiophile review you should probably read a different website, but they sound very good. You need to be aware that they really are quite deep speakers, check the measurements. I’ve wall mounted them and you wouldn’t want to do that in a small room. The binding posts are underneath, and if you use the q acoustics wall mounts it’s all very neatly hidden away. Excellent speaker for the price.

Aesthetically pleasing with high build quality. Sound very impressive which improves with use. Base response is not the same as a good floorstasnder but this is only noticeable on a head to head comparison. Nothing really compares at the price.

Due to lack of space i was forced to get rid of my beloved mordaunt short floorstanders, and consider a more compact speaker. I did a lot of research and got it down to the dali zensor 1’s or the q acoustics 2020i’s. Opted for the latter on a free next day delivery option, and they duly arrived this morning. On unpacking them i was struck by the solidity and quality of the finish, together with the attention to detail. The bi-wireable speaker connections are on the underside so you don’t have to have cables trailing down the back. Connected them up to my denon amp, and grabbed the nearest cd to hand, ‘tango in the night’ by fleetwood mac. As soon as the opening bars of ‘big love’ started i knew i had made a good decision. I had no idea it was possible to get sound this good out of speakers this size. I have a pair of roth oli20’s upstairs, and i have always been pleased with them, but the 2020i’s are on a different level. Here are the specifications for the Q ACOUSTICS Q Acoustics 2020i Graph:

Fantastic sound especially the bass. For small speakers these are very powerful and extremely crystal clear. Bought them to go with sonos amp.

I bought these after lots of research and have not been in any way dissapointed. Having narrowed it down to these or the monitor audio bx2’s, i went with these because i couldn’t hear enough of a difference to justify the £55 price increase for the bx2’s. Soundwise they’re excellent and they also look super on the soundstyle z2 stands that i was able to afford as a result of not going for the bx2’s. Can’t recomend highly enough. As an added bonus they look like they were meant to go with pro-ject debut carbon, which also has a matt finish.

Reviews from purchasers :

  • Ample performance

Good sound quality from such a small speaker. Good sound quality from such a small speaker, i also have their big brothers (1050i) so know q acoustics are going to deliver.

I would be surprised if you can get better speakers for £120, they compare favourably with more expensive speakers and are a good size match for a bedsit/bedroom or later re-purposing as rears in a large living-room. Currently fed by 4 solid strands (audioquest f-18) per terminal, i will bi-wire them in due course, adding good quality multi-strand to feed the other 2 terminals.

Took around a month of looking at the reviews for these to finally convince myself to get them. I am a student so i purchased them when my exams ended a few days ago from richer sounds. They sound phenomenal, as i expected from all my research. I am using them with a lepy 2020a amp, providing me with a cheap and cheerful setup. That said, the amp could be slightly better, but that has nothing to do with the speakers, which sound fantastic; rich, detailed and clear. I intend to use them for music production too, for in my opinion these will outperform by far any cheap studio monitors around the same price bracket.

Best bookshelf/standmount speaker at this price i’ve heard for some considerable time. Classy tight highs and strong bass complement the balanced mid-range. Defined separation of instruments and wide soundstage controlled perfectly to create a refined wholly musical output that can relax or excite and depends entirely on the music.

One word is enough to sum up these speakerssuperbi have had numerous speakers of various shapes and sizes in various systems and set-ups over many decades (5) and these are by far the best sounding/performing i’ve ever had or in fact heard. Gone at last is that all too familiar harsh/boxy/inadequate/ill defined/lacking bass definition/can’t get it right sound. If you are after ‘bookshelf’ speakers (mine are on stands) for home use and are on a low budget then these could be your answer – they kick way, way above their price bracket.

Excellent and first class. . Top class for price and sound is clear and precise with no distortion on high or low notes in vocals or instrumentals, the quality of these is first class and i highly recommend them. I have these with a yamaha r-n500.

Q acoustics concept 20, 2020i 0r 2010i. I bought two pairs of the 2020i for the sides and rears and a set of 2010i for height speakers in a 7. I already own the concept 20 , which will be the fronts, and a couple of subwoofers. I didn’t fancy ceiling fitted speakers because i may have to experiment with positioning and that would have meant making big holes. I nearly went for three pairs of 20201 (only £20 difference from richer sounds) but decided that the extra depth of the cabinet could be a negative as i plan to mount the 2010i speakers on a sloping attic ceiling. As an experiment i swapped my concepts over with the 2010i to play some stereo music. Without being too negative, because they are about a quarter of the price, i have to say that the 2010i didn’t come close to the richer sound of the concepts. The treble was quite nice, if a little shrill at times, the mids were well put together, but the music wasn’t underpinned by much bass (i had switched my subs off). These speakers cry out for a subwoofer whereas the concepts can be used alone, although i do prefer to utilise a sub , which adds that extra dimension of bass that the concepts can’t produce and really lifts the music into a different place altogether. I then hooked up the 2020i (only £20 more expensive than the 2010i, costing £100 a pair). Now we were getting somewhere. The treble was all it should be, precise and detailed but now we had some nicely controlled bass in the mix which really brought the music alive where the 2010i had seemed quite thin and shallow.

Impressive little performers. Impressive performance from these solidly built, smart speakers considering their diminutive size and price.

Fantastic value for money. . Wanted to give some rest to my vintage kef reference 102 which were starting to sound tired. Like many, didn’t want to spend much money at this point so took a plunge on these after carefully considering my listening needs and most importantly the size of my current listening space. After close to 20 years buying hi-fi gear, this is probably the best value for money i ever had on a hi-fi purchase.

Gteat value speakers with a great sound. Bought these as i just bought a new marantz c610 and these speakers were rated one of the best in hifi sites. I was not disappointed and would recommend these to anyone.

JBL Control One Rugged 2-Way 100mm : Great sound and looks;

Fantastic speakers for the money. Obviously due to the there size they require a subwoofer for lower frequencies (i’d say. They are built well and include wall mounts (however many have said these are not very good). For creating a home cinema setup these are perfect. Perfect for your outdoor …
