Pure music sound quality from a small speaker love them.

Q acoustics has made great sound affordable. I’m incredibly happy with my pair of q2020i. I bought the speakers based on what i read in various forums, and expert advice. I ordered these after reading lots of reviews, and was not disappointed, some reviews say the bass a little lacking but i don’t agree. The sound and clarity is superb you can hear every instrument on the track. One of my beat ever purchases and a great bargain at £169.

Great speakers at this price. In all honesty, i bought these because they were finished in walnut – only after the decision did i read up on them. Happily for me i found what hifi gave them 5 stars and an award etc etc. Even better i found the praise well deserved. I cabled them with qed anniversary xt cable and put them on stands. After a running in time if about 10 hours (whose counting) i find my self hearing things i’ve never heard before and thoroughly enjoying all the music in my collection like never before. Only trouble is they’ve rekindled my interest in hifi and that does not bode well for my wallet.

Reviews from purchasers :

  • Great Speakers at this price
  • Awesome speakers but a bit of advice
  • Wow – Superb speakers. Excellent value.

Amazing clarity and detail – addictive listening. I purchased these based on the what hi-fi reviews as well as the consistently high amazon reviews, so was a little anxious as to whether i’d notice the difference from my current speakers or enjoy the sound. I’m astounded as how good these sound. I didn’t think my last speakers sounded that bad, but there was so much detail missing. I’m listening to music with new ears now – songs i’ve known for years make me stop what i’m doing and say ‘i’d never noticed that before’i’m now stuck wondering round the house with a permanently quizzical expression going ‘wow’, and i’m not getting anything else done as i just want to listen to more and more and more musici can’t believe the difference these have made. If you’re even considering them, then just buy them.

Great speakers at a great price. There is a more expensive model of these speakers available with an innovative cabinet design but really these are so good it wasn’t necessary to go up a another 150. We can literally hear the sound of the hair of violin bows on the strings with these.

Used as studio monitors in a 24 cubic metre room: these speakers have excellent response over a wide frequency range with no apparent problem with any of the tangential issues that i had rather anticipated with a product of such competitive price. The cabinet appears to be moulded and is of high density; the general build-quality is excellent. These 2020i speakers have been subjected to the usual extremes of a studio and they have been proven resilient. As i write this review, these speakers have been in use for around three years (daily use).

A truly magnificent pair of speakers at a very low price. I was drawn to the q acoustics 2020i bookshelf speakers after reading numerous reviews on their excellent performance. Being a hi-fi enthusiast i have tested numerous speakers over the last 25 years but these speakers are absolutely astounding. I placed the speakers quite wide apart on mid height stands and first tested using dave brubeck’s – greatest hits 1966 vinyl lp and began with ‘take 5’ on my project essential turntable, rega brio r amplifier & qed silver anniversary speaker cable – bi-wired. I have never heard anything sound so glorious. The tone is rich but neutral and never overly bright with bass in just right amounts. Every instrument is separated and the saxophone sounds as though it were in the centre of my living room and suspended in air. I next tested paolo conte ‘ sotto le stelle del jazz’ on cd, his piano was rich, detailed and vibrant and vocals hanging in the air centre of speakers. These are truly amazing speakers. I purchased the piano black versions and look beautiful with my hi-fi equipment.

Q’s 2020i, 2010i or concept 20 ?. I bought two pairs of the 2020i for the sides and rears and a set of 2010i for height speakers in a 7. I already own the concept 20 , which will be the fronts, and a couple of subwoofers. I didn’t fancy ceiling fitted speakers because i may have to experiment with positioning and that would have meant making big holes. I nearly went for three pairs of 20201 (only £20 difference from richer sounds) but decided that the extra depth of the cabinet could be a negative as i plan to mount the 2010i speakers on a sloping attic ceiling. As an experiment i swapped my concepts over with the 2010i to play some stereo music. Without being too negative, because they are about a quarter of the price, i have to say that the 2010i didn’t come close to the richer sound of the concepts. The treble was quite nice, if a little shrill at times, the mids were well put together, but the music wasn’t underpinned by much bass (i had switched my subs off). These speakers cry out for a subwoofer whereas the concepts can be used alone, although i do prefer to utilise a sub , which adds that extra dimension of bass that the concepts can’t produce and really lifts the music into a different place altogether. I then hooked up the 2020i (only £20 more expensive than the 2010i, costing £100 a pair). Now we were getting somewhere. The treble was all it should be, precise and detailed but now we had some nicely controlled bass in the mix which really brought the music alive where the 2010i had seemed quite thin and shallow.

So good i bought the company (almost). So, i liked these so much i bought three pairs, lol. For the price they have a range you just don’t get elsewhere. The ones i use most are connected to a denon ceol system in my living room, which is very large. They fill it perfectly, there’s real bass, very cleanly delivered. I listen to electronic, ambient and rock music mostly, they are great with everything i can chuck at them. They take a little bit of running in – i’d suggest leaving them on for a few days while you are out at work. And, irrelevant i know, they look good.

If you want the audiophile review you should probably read a different website, but they sound very good. You need to be aware that they really are quite deep speakers, check the measurements. I’ve wall mounted them and you wouldn’t want to do that in a small room. The binding …

Fantastic speakers for the money. Obviously due to the there size they require a subwoofer for lower frequencies (i’d say. They are built well and include wall mounts (however many have said these are not very good). For creating a home cinema setup these are perfect. Perfect for your outdoor …
