Philips Fidelio L2 Audio Headphones : OMG OMG Oh my gosh OMG

Philips fidelio l2 when compared to quite a couple of other headphones. I been given my new fidelio l2 headphones a handful of times in the past and just assumed i would share my views. I read all the testimonials and forum responses i could in advance of purchasing and was a minimal nervous they could possibly have been over-hyped, but i have to say that so far i am really, really impressed. A minimal track record: i have put in hundreds of kilos above the last year or two in lookup of headphones i am totally (or at minimum sufficiently) glad with. In retrospect, i would in all probability have been better just spending my cash on a pair of leading-flight headphones at the outset, alternatively of all the revenue i have on mainly mid-fi cans, but there you goheadphones i have purchased and typically subsequently bought are (in alphabetical order):akg k450 – bass significant, clarity not great, confined soundstage. Audio technica ath-m50 – very disappointed with these, every thing was ‘ok’ about them, but actually no greater than that, very little at all fantastic, little bit ‘closed in’ and unexciting. Audio technica ath-ws99 – still own these.

Theese headphones just have the seem you dreamed aboutvery detailed sound and the headphones by itself have a pleasant layout.

Hard to travel, normal sounding, but incredibly beautiful. . I assume the testimonials listed here have to have a minor stability. These are first rate sounding, really great looking headphones. However, they are not out of the standard. They are tough to push, and my sony z ultra phone maxes out it is really quantity just before the headphones access the volumes i would commonly pay attention at. Even with major eq the headphones are fairly bass light. Also, irrespective of being semi open back again, they leak badly so from that regard are no better than open back. Here are the specifications for the Philips Fidelio L2 Audio Headphones:

Fantastic headphones, but change the inventory cable. I have owned these headphones for five months now and i have appear to know them extremely properly (and like them a lot). I use an audioengine d1 dac/headphone amp and these are some of the very best sounding headphones i have listened to and at a portion of the selling price of some other individuals i see as direct rivals in terms of seem quality. At 1st, nevertheless, i knowledgeable a few problems in features of the sound that shouldn’t be existing in a headphone of this price tag. I noticed this first whilst listening to rock with thick, crunchy guitar filling the mid frequencies. It seemed practically as if the headphones could not reproduce all the frequencies at when, or that the file was of considerably reduce high-quality than it was. I was let down by this due to the fact almost everything else about these headphones appeared fantastic. I go through somewhere that changing the stock cable experienced produced a distinction to one more user so i thought i should try out that. I acquired an audioquest tower mini jack interconnect (with good lengthy-grain copper conductors), and as before long as i plugged it in the change was obvious. Just about every component of the seem of these headphones experienced improved.

I truly appreciate working with these headphones terrific audio and properly made. I really take pleasure in employing these headphones terrific audio and perfectly manufactured. I have other highend headphones and far more expensive as perfectly but these are fab.

Reviews from purchasers :

These phones seem wonderful but i wished to commute with them. The leakage from these ‘semi-closed’ backs is so ridiculous, they may perhaps as perfectly be loud speakers. There is certainly no way a single could commute with these without having letting an whole teach carrige or bus what you are listening to no subject what quantity you set them at (so very long as you require to listen to it yourself). I despatched them back and went for some bose legitimate seem units. These leak much too but are at a a lot more appropriate amount, though really don’t audio as superior as these fidelio’s.

Super comfortable and much more durable than mk1s. Super comfortable and much more durable than mk1s, but i kinda preferred the sound of mk1s, hich sounded fantastic, but had terrible build quality. These don;t suffer from that problem, plus they have more bass, which is great for electronic, traditional/classical music, and slower rock/metal (not so much for fast double bass kick). However, they lack (a bit) the warm, sparkling upper midrange of the mk1, which made distorted guitars sound crunchy, and overall the sound is more “distant”. Still, overall, great headphones.

To set context i have the philips x1 and x2 and although i was aware of the praises for the l2 and already had fairly high expectations. I did not expect the l2 to blow the x1 and x2 out of the water. The x1 is smooth, mellow, warm and laid back, recessive even. I enjoy this if the music is too treble aggressive. The x2 is far more detailed than the x1, clearer with better separation of complex passages, where the x1 can sound a bit garbled or ill defined. There is a definite step difference between the x1 and x2. The l2 is even higher definition than the x2 omg. It just ruthlessly rips out the detail on both compressed and non compressed material playing through my macbook pro 2017 and audioengine dac. It has incredible, resolution, authority and precision to the sound, and the x2 is almost a little woolly in comparison.

I love listening to these headphones. I have owned these for oveer a year now and am a self confessed nut when it comes to headphones and felt that these needed a short comment to anyone considering a purchase. I own the following headphones so this is a serious hobby for me – fidelio l2, fidelio m1bt, b&o h7, fidelio l1, audeze lcd2, mrspeakers ether c flow, akg k712pro, oppo pm3, westone w20. Amps used include cavalli audio lq2, schiit jotunheim, chord mojo, ifi idsd, ifi ican se, ibasso dx200 dap, cowon plenue d dap. I mention this only to add some weight to this opinion. With the exception of my lcd 2 and ethers (both of which are £1000+ headphones) the l2 is by far the most impressive of the bunch and for the price you can get them for, an absolute steal. I love listening to these headphones, they are the only ones when out and about when i feel i am not really compromising against my high end equipment. I used to own the x2 and sold it as they are great but too over emphasised across the frequency range which makes then great for fun listening but the l2 is more refined, practical and looks better. If you want a great headphone under £400, buy these.

These phones sound lovely but i wanted to commute with them. The leakage from these ‘semi-closed’ backs is so ridiculous, they may as well be loud speakers. There’s no way one could commute with these without letting an entire train carrige or bus what you are listening to no matter what volume you set them at (so long as you need to hear it yourself). I sent them back and went for some bose true sound units. These leak too but are at a more acceptable level, although don’t sound as good as these fidelio’s.

Beautifully designed with a very sleek modern look they’re also. Upon unpacking you immediately notice the quality of the headphones. Beautifully designed with a very sleek modern look they’re also very comfortable and easy to rest around your neck due to the swivel on the earpieces. I guess they’re marketed as portable as they’re so easy to drive from sources such as a mobile phone or laptop. Steaming from spotify (extreme quality) on my motorola g sounds superb. Not sure i’d use them on a commute though as despite the design they are quite large and don’t fold. Only minor criticisms are the lack of a hard-carry case, non-replaceable pads and slight noise from the included detachable cables when rubbing up against clothing. Takes listening from non-audiophile sources to another level.

You really need to buy these- now . Simply brilliant headphones- both in design, comfort and sound. A complete no-brainer and fantastic value.

The l2 impress me more each day===============================these set of headphones offer great clarity and better bass than i’d expected. The sound from these beauties is simply: a. Looks=====they look better in real life than in their pictures. Would i be embarrassed wearing these outdoors?. No they are a fine accompaniment to my rather large ears. They are very well-constructed, comfortable and slip over the ears. They are a quality set of headphones.

Sturdy, classy, i freaking love it. ( tested with aac and alac files on a fiio player ).
Brilliant headphones, but replace the stock cable. I’ve owned these headphones for 5 months now and i have come to know them very well (and like them a lot). I use an audioengine d1 dac/headphone amp and these are some of the best sounding headphones i’ve heard and at a fraction of the price of some others i see as direct competitors in terms of sound quality. At first, however, i experienced a few problems in elements of the sound that shouldn’t be present in a headphone of this price. I noticed this first whilst listening to rock with thick, crunchy guitar filling the mid frequencies. It seemed almost as if the headphones couldn’t reproduce all the frequencies at once, or that the file was of much lower quality than it was. I was disappointed by this because everything else about these headphones seemed great. I read somewhere that replacing the stock cable had made a difference to another user so i thought i should try that. I bought an audioquest tower mini jack interconnect (with solid long-grain copper conductors), and as soon as i plugged it in the difference was obvious. Every element of the sound of these headphones had improved.

The best headphones i’ve ever used. I’m no audiophile but they sound excellent to me. The song “a man/me/then jim” by rilo kiley surprised me when i heard what i assume could be called subwoofer low frequencies bass. I didn’t expect that a mp3 file played on an iphone would ever reproduce a very low rumble like that. They are borderline silly looking in public but i think they just about come across okay. Anyway i don’t feel stupid when i’m wearing them when out and about. Also they are comfortable to wear for hours, which isn’t always the case if you wear glasses. There is a very small amount of sound leakage in quiet conditions.

One of the best pairs of headphones i’ve used. They really sound delightfulthere’s not that much information on the internet about these headphones in the form of reviews so i’ll try and shed some light on how these are compared to some other headphones. I’ve owned the following headphones: b&o h6, audio technica m50x, bose qc15, logitech ue4000. Compared to the cheapest headphones here the ue4000, there’s an obvious difference in sound quality, and that’s what i would expect from headphones that cost 10 times more. Compared to the other three, there’s less of a difference but still enough to tell them apart. The h6 have quite a full sound, and sound fantastic in most settings but the soundstage is nowhere near as impressive as the l2 due to it being semi-open vs closed back. The m50x’s are also fantastic and produce very accurate sound, but once again, soundstage is lacking. I also found them to be uncomfortable to wear for any extended period of time (>1 hour). This is probably most due to the fact that they are much heavier than the fidelio l2.

Tough to drive, average sounding, but very attractive. . I think the reviews here need a little balance. These are decent sounding, very nice looking headphones. However, they are not out of the ordinary. They are hard to drive, and my sony z ultra phone maxes out it’s volume before the headphones reach the volumes i would normally listen at. Even with heavy eq the headphones are fairly bass light. Also, despite being semi open back, they leak badly so from that regard are no better than open back.

Impressive headphone by philips. You can immediately feel the build quality once you see the headphone. I love the astonishing design with modern aluminium style matching the classy black leather with orange stitches. The headphone is light and very comfortable to wear. It just fits perfectly and keeps great contact even when you wear it for a long time and you won’t find it too tight at all. The high and mid ranges definitely stand out and bass is just perfect. I’m actually surprised by the quality of the noise isolation. Although there’s no built-in noise cancellation feature, the isolated cover already filters out most of the surrounding noise which makes the audio much clearer. Definitely a 5-star product.

It claims extra bass and thats what you get. I prefered this xb500 more than the sucessor xb600. As decribed, these headphones present a bass weighty response.
