Quite pleased with my invest in excellent solution.

A charming, effortless to use addition to your motor – to history your adventures or your dramas. . This is my initial expertise with one of these type of cameras and so significantly it has been truly optimistic. Bit of a learning curve for a beginner afraid of getting it erroneous – but not truly sophisticated at all, the moment you have a go. The box contains the camera, some extremely primary guidance, a (very extended) cord to hook up the camera to the cigarette lighter and the fitting to attach the digital camera to the window, together with an adhesive patch. There is no battery – the electric power will come from the car battery, so no charging difficulties. If you are like me you will want to obtain the much more in-depth guidance from the philips website, if only to truly feel far more self-assured about what you happen to be executing. I found them a ton more useful than the types in the box, which have been fairly inadequate to be genuine. You will need to have a micro sd card as nicely, as they really don’t involve one. As other reviewers have claimed, for the value they could seriously have place one in. But it is not a large drama to get hold of one.

Philips ADR81BLX1 ADR 810 Full HD Car Driving Video Recorder Dashcam

  • Crystal-clear images in all driving conditions
  • Hassle-free and reliable with emergency support
  • Impartial evidence any time

I can advocate this philips model. If you have to have a uncomplicated, simple dashcam which records superior top quality 1080p video, i can endorse this philips design. Note that you can find no gps with this, so if you journey far and broad it in all probability just isn’t for you. The only niggle is the terrible audio high-quality – one thing which is not pretty significant 99% of the time.

This is easy to set up and use. It has a good field of vision and good quality footage. I think that the main hassle with using one of these is that i wouldn’t want to leave it on display in my car when not using it so it’s another thing to put away.

Really excellent – but has stiff opposition at this price tag amount. There are a bewildering quantity of dashcams to opt for from these days and numerous are a lot more cost-effective than this philips adr 810 dashcam and at this price tag amount a lot of other designs also aspect gps. What the philips adr 810 dashcam does offer you nonetheless, is a dependable manufacturer title, excellent image quality (day and night) and relieve of use so it may possibly be desired by some people to an unknown chinese model. This philips product has no rechargeable battery crafted in and so needs to be run by your car’s 12v provide – a suited ability direct is provided. You will require to invest in a micro sd card as none is provided – philips specify microsd card class ten (up to 32 gb) and i am utilizing a samsung as i discover them rather trusted in most predicaments. Whilst there is a good deal to like about the adr 810 you are spending a bit additional for the philips manufacturer identify with this product. That claimed, numerous will be happy with a brand they believe in and with guidance that are very clear and easy to understand the digicam is effectively featured, a fantastic style and properly made and i like it quite a lot – more than the chinese manufacturer it has replaced. So if you are looking for a 1st dashcam from a brand you know – and never need the gps feature – then the adr 810 may be for you and it scores nicely for attributes, simplicity of use and top quality. On the other hand at the price tag – currently all-around a hundred and forty quid from amazon – i can only level with 4 stars towards this model’s greater highlighted competitors.

Wide angle it’s very good and the night capture with variable iso works very. Pleasant with it, i used this for about 6 months. Wide angle it’s very good and the night capture with variable iso works very well. The only downside is the led is quite strong at night until you get used with it.

Great quality camera, very few negatives. . The philips adr81blx1 adr 810 full hd car driving video recorder dashcam is a very good quality dashcam, that gives the user sharp images, and has many good functions included. There are only a couple of minor irritations about that camera, which i will outline, but these do not detract from the fact that this camera is much clearer than many of the competitor dashcams. The camera needs to be plugged in continuously, as it does not have a battery. The wiring irritated me so much, that my husband ended up feeding wires behind the dashboard, so that it wasn’t in my way. We have also needed to use an additional power splitter, so that we can use different devices at the same time. The camera uses a capacitor to store the time and settings for around four or five days. It also has an emergency record function, marking videos as read only, so that you don’t accidentally overwrite the video of an accident that has taken place. This function can be activated manually, by pressing the button on the camera, or on the power cord. It also happens automatically when certain types of motion are detected, as seen in an accident.

Very easy to use and set up but comparatively expensive. . This is a very capable and easy to set up device if simplicity is key to your requirements. It is probably as near to plug-and-play as you will find. The camera is very light, but not so much to feel cheap. This is a virtue as your expensive new gadget will be hanging from a sticky pad attached to your windscreen for most of its daysdon’t worry about trying to charge it up prior to first use, it has no internal battery and is powered completely from the power source/cigarette lighter socket in your vehicle. Fortunately the cable is very long so it can all be threaded away neatly. One think you will need is an sd card to insert, probably 32gb or above to give you approx 5 hrs of recording time. This is so any incidents recorded can easily be copied to your pc if needs be. As soon as the car is powered, so is the camera. It does have a manual on and off but is probably best just to leave it running happily away to do its thing.

This is an excellent, basic dashcam which offers a great deal of bang for your buck. The camera arrives well packaged and also contains an adhesive-backed window mount, a power lead (around 4m long, so plenty long enough) and some very brief instructions. Unfortunately, what the box doesn’t contain is a suitable class 10 micro sd card which you really, really need if you want to record video; without it the camera still works but i’m not entirely sure what function it serves if it isn’t recording.Sure, these cards are cheap enough now – which is more the reason why one should really be included i feel. Once you have a card you’ll fit on about 5 hours of hd recording onto a 32gb card – so the storage space is used well when you do get it. Once the camera is installed in the car it works beautifully. The recorded image is crystal clear and with a good field of vision, and works really well during the hours of darkness too. It really is excellent quality, although as others have mentioned, the sound isn’t great. To ensure you capture moments whereby you really want something recorded the camera has a couple of functions.

A lovely, easy to use addition to your motor – to record your adventures or your dramas. . This is my first experience with one of these kind of cameras and so far it has been really positive. Bit of a learning curve for a newbie afraid of getting it wrong – but not really complicated at all, once you have a go. I have the 610 model fitted in my wife’s car, and it’s a reasonable camera, so i was interested to see how this more expensive model compares. Here are my likes and dislikes on the 810 model:-likeslightweight small & compactnot as easy for thieves and other motorists to see, unlike some cameras covered in silver plastic to make them look expensivefantastic 1080 daytime footageexcellent night time footage – miles better than the 610super wide angle lens captures everything – a far better view to the sides than the 610adequate storage – up to 5 hrs 20 mins of hd 1080 recording from a 32gb micro sd cardemergency one touch recording – button located on power plugease of viewing files, with fast forward & rewind facility availableeasy to navigate menus – far better than on the 610easy plug and play through pc or tv (with correct leads)dislikesfeels cheaply made, not what i would expect from philips at this price point (same with 610 model) – suspect chinese origin with philips rebrandingeven on least sensitive setting, the camera sometimes interprets potholes, speed bumps and uneven surfaces as an accident scenario, saving the file accordinglysound quality not very clear, and nowhere near as good as the 610. Odd on a more expensive model, but then i drive with sound recording off most of the time. Issue formatting my class 10 micro sd meaning i had to purchase a new one. At this price an sd card should have been included to allow operation out of the boxno back up battery, just a capacitor. This stores date and time for a few days, but then loses it’s memory. Occasional chronic vibration and subsequent distortion of footage. This doesn’t happen all the time, and it is not dependent on road surfaces. Unable to find the cause, but it is not the car, and it is very annoying.

Light camera with good picture. . This camera gives very good results, even in low lighting. Smooth 30fps even at 1080 resolution. Most settings are adjustable, such as resolution and exposure but not the sound recording level which is where it loses the part of a star; the sound is a little quiet but still adequate. It’s certainly not going to catch a road rage confrontation going on outside the vehicle. All you get with the unit is the mounting bracket (which sticks permanently to your windscreen) and the power cord. You do not get the full manual, just a leaflet of pictures of what all the buttons are called and how to fix the bracket. If you want proper details on all the things unit does you have to download the manual from philips’s website. It defaults to auto start recording as soon as you start the car but there is a manual override to stop and start. The main drawbacks with these types of units after checking reviews seems to be battery charge not lasting and poor quality recording.

Very good – but has stiff competition at this price level. There are a bewildering number of dashcams to choose from these days and many are much cheaper than this philips adr 810 dashcam and at this price level many other models also feature gps. What the philips adr 810 dashcam does offer however, is a trusted brand name, good picture quality (day and night) and ease of use so it may be preferred by some users to an unknown chinese brand. This philips model has no rechargeable battery built in and so needs to be powered by your car’s 12v supply – a suitable power lead is supplied. You will need to buy a micro sd card as none is supplied – philips specify microsd card class 10 (up to 32 gb) and i am using a samsung as i find them pretty reliable in most situations. Although there is a lot to like about the adr 810 you are paying a bit more for the philips brand name with this model. That said, many will be happy with a brand they trust and with instructions that are clear and understandable; the camera is well featured, a good design and nicely made and i like it quite a lot – more than the chinese brand it has replaced. So if you are looking for a first dashcam from a brand you know – and don’t need the gps feature – then the adr 810 may be for you and it scores well for features, ease of use and quality. However at the price – currently around a hundred and forty quid from amazon – i can only rate with four stars against this model’s better featured competitors.

Good basic dash-cam, with better than average night vision. The philips adr 810 is a neat little dash-cam covering most of the basic requirements for general use. It is not the smallest, nor the cheapest, but it does have a wide angle of view (156° on the diagonal), and excellent low light sensitivity when the wide dynamic range is enabled. The depth of field for a sharp image is amazing, from about 150mm to infinity. One needs to add a fast micro sdhc chip to record anything, and although the camera works well enough without the memory chip it plants a big blue ‘no card’ warning in the centre of the screen. Bear in mind that the adr 810 does not have gps, so will not record the location where an incident happened nor the speed. However it does have a g-sensor and can be set for different levels of impact to trigger the ‘emergency recording’, and if this happens it has a 30 second buffer of video from before the event to 30 seconds after (by default, but this can be increased by pressing the easy capture button) to store in a separate file with the time stamp and any noises or speech that might have been said. The power lead is four metres long and has a right angle micro-usb connector on one end, so the lead dresses up towards the roof head-lining if the camera is mounted near the top of the screen, and on the other end is a right angle car lighter adapter with the handy ‘easy capture’ button to save that ’emergency recording’ file (this button is duplicated within the multicolour led status indicator on the camera as well). The menu system is reasonably intuitive with the four control buttons, especially if you have played with a typical dash cam before, (i already have an excellent e-prance g1w). There is no option to zoom or adjust the angle of view (and for a forward looking camera i eventually chose to set the 12mp g1w on a significantly narrower image, aided by its image stabiliser), but i shall be using the adr 810 as a rear looking camera to observe the inevitable tail-gaters and hopefully dissuade them to some extent, or a battery powered parking surveillance camera to identify the careless parkers who so frequently ding our cars.

Great quailty dashcam from a recognisable brand. If you’re after a simple dashcam with excellent image quality day or night no matter what the weather that just works then i highly recommend this philips model of dashcam. It doesn’t come with a micro sd card in the box but the vast minority of dashcams available don’t anyway but you can pick up a fairly decent card like the samsung evo 32gb micro sd card off amazon for less than £10. The microphone on this is ok not outstanding (that’s if you decide to turn it on) but it picks up conversations fine and the odd bit of the radio but it’s ok for what i need if ever an incident occurs. I like the fact it has a emergency record button on the power adapter which saves the hassle of trying to reach across the dashboard to press the button on the camera should the unexpected happen. I’ve been using this dashcam for just over a month now without any problems and if you manage to buy one when amazon have it as a lightning deal you’ve got yourself a bargain.

I can recommend this philips model. If you need a simple, straightforward dashcam which records high quality 1080p video, i can recommend this philips model. Note that there’s no gps with this, so if you travel far and wide it probably isn’t for you. The only niggle is the terrible audio quality – something that’s not very important 99% of the time.
