Parrot ck3000 evolution bluetooth car kit – instantly pays for itself. I purchased this brilliant piece of kit because i grew tired of getting calls and not actually being able to answer them in the car, mainly because talking on your phone whilst driving is illegal (even though so many plonkers do it) so, i looked around on ebay but amazon turned out to be loads cheaper. Connecting all the iso connectors is the easy part of the installation, finding cable routing and a home behind your dashboard for the 2 boxes that contain the ‘brains’ for the kit is the hard bit. I ended up removing the glovebox from my astra’s dashboard (6 screws) as i found this the easiest way to see what was really going on behind the dashboard.Long story short i managed to install everything. I ended up placing the microphone (using the supplied 3m sticky pad) on the base of the instruments binnacle pointing upwards towards me, so sound travels through the steering wheel into the microphone. I installed the small ‘keypad’ just below the microphone on the dashboard – easily accessible whilst driving. They recommend installing the microphone next to your rear view mirror, but this isn’t realistic in the majority of cars, as it involves removing a lot of trim and routing the microphone cable back down behind the dashboard. So have a look around and see where you can mount the microphone on your dashboard. My pioneer headunit had a small gap by the side of it and so i managed to route the two cables for the microphone and keypad through this gapthe only problem i had during installation was selecting the correct mute cable.
This is the second one we have bought and it is perfect, the only thing i didn’t check was that it needed an adapter kit for our focus which cost about £14.
Parrot ck3000 evolution bluetooth handsfree car kiti bought this for my wifes golf mk6. Once i had managed to get the appropriate cable to make it compatible with the radio head unit (not many sites list the golf mk6 yet)all the functionality worked well. The voice quality is very good and an equal to the kit professionally installed in my bmw. If you are not sure on how to fit, there are lots of internet sites that give you help. Only reason for 4 stars rather than 5 is that there is no foam for the microphone, harsh i know but the only fault i can record.
Parrot CK3000 Hands-Free Car Kit : I bought this item from halfords (1st mistake), as they offered free fitting and i wasn’t comfortable pulling apart the dashboard of my clio. They charged me £99, but i since found out that is way over the top for price (so it isn’t really free fitting is it). The first problem i encountered was that it didn’t seem to retain all the information after i switched off the ignition. Then i realised that it didn’t switch off at all and finally i realised that my cigarette lighter socket didn’t work. All of these were down to it not being fitted properly by halfords. They had missed that renault clio’s have reverse polarity on the chassis (even though there is a big warning on the parrot fitting instructions) and they hadn’t re-connected the power lead to the cig lighter after messing about – hence my sat-nav went flat half way to a destinationon the actual item itself, there are still a few niggles which you ought to consider:1. If you have to re-record the info for a contact, the ck3000 evo will treat it as a new contact, and when you say the voice tag, if it is the same as the old voice tag (i. Same persons name) then the evo will probably revert to the old data because it was the first one recorded.
