Its already hard to believe that, just 10 years ago, owning an analogue camcorder with a mini cassette was the bee’s knees in the family, and of course, owning a d. V version was only for enthusiasts. Whats even harder to believe is that we paid more for that horrid jvc contraption that we did for this marvel. And thats what it is – a marvel for this price. After reading the other reviews it seems everyone else has outlined the product well, so here are just some personal high’s and low’s:+ the package is well thought out and contains everything you would typically need, aside from an sd card obviously. Whereas other companies like sony rely on extra profits from accessories, panasonic have delightfully included a wireless remote to control your camcorder (very handy indeed), a lens-hood for blocking out some light, a hd-component cable and even a stylus to navigate the touch screen more accurately. + compared to the upcoming ‘sd800’, i did a lot of research to see if i was worthwhile paying the extra bucks, and as it turned out the only real difference was that the 800 is compatible with panasonic’s new 3d adapter. Given ‘digital 3d’ is popular with.
Great picture quality – annoying fan noise. This takes very nice video at 1080p 50fps. It picks up a lot of colour and depth. Overall the video quality is very satisfying. I also have the panasonic sdx1 and was comparing them boththe sd600 has 3 sensors, so it can pick up more colours compared to the sdx1. It not always a noticable difference between the 2 cameras, but sometimes you can see a big differnce in the sd600’s favour. The sd600 also is better in low light. The sdx1 does however have a longer zoom, and seems to snap into focus faster, and focus better when zoomed in very close to objects, i think. The sd600 has a better microphone, but it does have that annoying fan noise – a constant buzz/drone that can be heard easily in ambient surroundings. The sd700 has a few extra features, but i dont need the view-finder or external mic jack – though if an external mic could be used, the fan noise would be less noticable.
Once again amazon have excelled themselves. Ordered friday 2nd july delivered monday 5th july using free delivery. My initial thoughts on the panasonic hdc-sd600 camcorder. For a ‘simplified’ version of the sd700 it sure has a lot of features that i’ll never use. Using full auto (ia) produces an absolutely fabulous picture quality. I won’t use the top recording mode because i have no way of playing back the videos. I’m using the next setting down and i think the reproduction is superb, i can’t praise it enough. I thought the picture from my old panasonic nv-s90(s-vhs-c) were good, but these are so much better. I can’t imagine how good it must be if you are able to use the full hd setting.
I upgraded from a canon hv-20 and i can say this cam is exactly what i have been waiting for in years. Gone are the days of tape rewinding and capturing, gone are the lost hours you’d had to spend rewinding and transferring your tape footage (at real time). Now you just instantly enjoy the superb crisp video this little device prouduces. Just plug the sd card via a card reader into my ps3 and all videos are played smoothly, even 1080/50p . A good companion for this camera is a 32 gb sdhc class 10 card and a larger battery pack.
I decided to replace my dv tape camcorder recently and decided on the panasonic hdc sd600. I read many reviews, watched lots of test clips on youtube and tried other camcorders but the sd600 trounced the competition every time. Image quality is superb, capturing fine details and true to life colours like none of the others. Even the still images from the sd600 are better than my panasonic tz7, which up until now i always rated very highly. Viewing back footage recorded in 1080p/50 on an hd tv is simply breathtaking. It’s unfortunate at the moment that it’s not very easy to edit this. Hopefully things will improve in the near future. Saying that, the 1080i picture is still excellent quality and if you’re writing to dvd then it probably won’t make any difference anyway. I saw a lot of talk about being able to hear the fan but have to say, i’ve tried and failed to hear it on any of the video i’ve taken, even in extremely quiet situations.
Panasonic SD600 Full HD 1920x1080p (50p) Camcorder with 3MOS Sensor and SD Card Recording – Black : Simply an incredible camcorder. I used this camcorder to film my two holidays in slovenia, and recently i had the chance to fix the video together. I was stunned by the clarity of the video. Just be careful when using this cam in low light – i would recommend not leaving it on auto in such cases, though, even on auto mode, it does an acceptable job.
