I took a bit of a risk with these, buying them without trying them out first. I’d read loads of reviews and thought i’d give them a go. As it turned out, it was definitely a risk worth taking. Comparing them directly to my sennheiser momentum over ears (first edition) into an ipod classic with fiio e07k amp, they were clearly much better, straight out of the box. The level of detail was superb, and even though they are closed back headphones, i found that they had really good depth. Songs that i knew well suddenly sounded so much more spacious. There was just so much more separation between different instruments than there was with my momentums. I genuinely found i was hearing things i hadn’t heard before. The bass clarity was also much improved – the momentums sounded muddy by comparison.
Superb mobile planar magnetic. Setup – iphone 6s / meridian explorer/ ifi micros idsd. I had a chance to audition these at the same time as the audeze el-8 (closed back) as i was looking particularly for a closed back planar magnetic headphone. The audeze was a little disappointing as to my ears i found the upper mids too forward which made female vocal sound tinny and false. The rest was pretty good though as you would expect for a £700 headphone. I had to compare these to my akg k712s just to reassure myself that it was not the recording. Anyway, not for mei much preferred the pm3 sound signature straight out of the box. Very neutral with a good punchy bass response without being too much.
Pricey but amazing sound quality. . After having used my good old audio technical m50, it was time for a change. Let’s be clear, the pm3 are just way better, the only downside being the soundstage (rather small even for closed cans). Everything else is top notch, from the sound quality, accessories and high sensibility. Here are the specifications for the OPPO Digital Oppo PM-3 Headphones –:

Crispy clear neutral sound, best paired with the amp to venture beyond neutrality. . Great pair of ‘phones, but please keep in mind that you really need to be an audiophile/enthusiast of sorts to justify the asking price, if you have the money and would like to experience excellent quality audio, this is a worthy purchase. This product offers a crisp, clear sound that, to my taste, needs a touch more bass (this can be adjusted with the amp product oppo offers). The pm-3 delivers quality that is just about noticeably above other products in its range. A high-quality build and finish promise a long-lasting investment; faux-leather and aluminium comprise a body that feels sturdy and comfortable. Oppo includes a good quality case and plenty of cables for android, iphone, amp and regular uses, one of the cables has an inbuilt mic which was a pleasant addition. Replacement parts and repairs can be accessed through oppo directly, if required. Well, it depends if you want to spend the extra for a fair difference in audio quality from the standard. It’s a strong neutral sound that lacks the punchy warmth of a rockers’ bass (an amp adjustment will fix this).
Terrific quality for the money. I decided it was time to invest in a good pair of over-ear cans after years of using various in-ear monitors, most recently a pair of shure 535s. I absolutely love my 535s but i find them a little uncomfortable to wear for long periods of time. I knew i would have to spend a few quid to find a pair of headphones which would match or even possibly exceed the quality of the 535s. After much research i decided to go for these and i’m so glad i did. Now i’m not a proper audiophile and to be honest my eyes start to glaze over when reading very lengthy discourses that go into the minutiae of every aspect of any piece of kit. I just love great sound quality because it really enhances my enjoyment of music. I read enough about the pm 3s to know that i wasn’t likely to be disappointed. I couldn’t wait to get my hands on these and when they arrived i hooked them up with an oppo ha 2 headphone amplifier and my iphone 6s. I use spotify premium with the setting at the highest in terms of playback qualify of the mp3 files.
Reviews from purchasers :
- Astonishingly Good
- Crispy clear neutral sound, best paired with the amp to venture beyond neutrality.
- Pricey but amazing sound quality.
Listen to all your music for the first time again. . I rarely write reviews, but i will make an exception for these headphones. I purchased them after reading a few reviews online. If i am honest i spent more than i wanted to, but oh my god they are worth every penny. Its like hearing all your music for the first time. The sound is near perfect and the build quality is sublime. I must say that i have only had them for five hours so in time may discover problems with quality of build. But the sound is the bomb, all i want to do is listen to all my music over again.

One with no mic that was 3m long, the other two were “android and windows” phone cables with mic’s, one white and one black. I presume that one should have been an “apple” one maybe?.I don’t know, the specs don’t really say either, weird. Build quality: par excellence.
