OPPO Digital Oppo PM-3 Headphones – : Are these really worth it?

I took a bit of a risk with these, buying them without trying them out first. I’d read loads of reviews and thought i’d give them a go. As it turned out, it was definitely a risk worth taking. Comparing them directly to my sennheiser momentum over ears (first edition) into an ipod classic with fiio e07k amp, they were clearly much better, straight out of the box. The level of detail was superb, and even though they are closed back headphones, i found that they had really good depth. Songs that i knew well suddenly sounded so much more spacious. There was just so much more separation between different instruments than there was with my momentums. I genuinely found i was hearing things i hadn’t heard before. The bass clarity was also much improved – the momentums sounded muddy by comparison.

Superb mobile planar magnetic. Setup – iphone 6s / meridian explorer/ ifi micros idsd. I had a chance to audition these at the same time as the audeze el-8 (closed back) as i was looking particularly for a closed back planar magnetic headphone. The audeze was a little disappointing as to my ears i found the upper mids too forward which made female vocal sound tinny and false. The rest was pretty good though as you would expect for a £700 headphone. I had to compare these to my akg k712s just to reassure myself that it was not the recording. Anyway, not for mei much preferred the pm3 sound signature straight out of the box. Very neutral with a good punchy bass response without being too much.

Pricey but amazing sound quality. . After having used my good old audio technical m50, it was time for a change. Let’s be clear, the pm3 are just way better, the only downside being the soundstage (rather small even for closed cans). Everything else is top notch, from the sound quality, accessories and high sensibility. Here are the specifications for the OPPO Digital Oppo PM-3 Headphones –:

Crispy clear neutral sound, best paired with the amp to venture beyond neutrality. . Great pair of ‘phones, but please keep in mind that you really need to be an audiophile/enthusiast of sorts to justify the asking price, if you have the money and would like to experience excellent quality audio, this is a worthy purchase. This product offers a crisp, clear sound that, to my taste, needs a touch more bass (this can be adjusted with the amp product oppo offers). The pm-3 delivers quality that is just about noticeably above other products in its range. A high-quality build and finish promise a long-lasting investment; faux-leather and aluminium comprise a body that feels sturdy and comfortable. Oppo includes a good quality case and plenty of cables for android, iphone, amp and regular uses, one of the cables has an inbuilt mic which was a pleasant addition. Replacement parts and repairs can be accessed through oppo directly, if required. Well, it depends if you want to spend the extra for a fair difference in audio quality from the standard. It’s a strong neutral sound that lacks the punchy warmth of a rockers’ bass (an amp adjustment will fix this).

Terrific quality for the money. I decided it was time to invest in a good pair of over-ear cans after years of using various in-ear monitors, most recently a pair of shure 535s. I absolutely love my 535s but i find them a little uncomfortable to wear for long periods of time. I knew i would have to spend a few quid to find a pair of headphones which would match or even possibly exceed the quality of the 535s. After much research i decided to go for these and i’m so glad i did. Now i’m not a proper audiophile and to be honest my eyes start to glaze over when reading very lengthy discourses that go into the minutiae of every aspect of any piece of kit. I just love great sound quality because it really enhances my enjoyment of music. I read enough about the pm 3s to know that i wasn’t likely to be disappointed. I couldn’t wait to get my hands on these and when they arrived i hooked them up with an oppo ha 2 headphone amplifier and my iphone 6s. I use spotify premium with the setting at the highest in terms of playback qualify of the mp3 files.

Reviews from purchasers :

  • Astonishingly Good
  • Crispy clear neutral sound, best paired with the amp to venture beyond neutrality.
  • Pricey but amazing sound quality.

Listen to all your music for the first time again. . I rarely write reviews, but i will make an exception for these headphones. I purchased them after reading a few reviews online. If i am honest i spent more than i wanted to, but oh my god they are worth every penny. Its like hearing all your music for the first time. The sound is near perfect and the build quality is sublime. I must say that i have only had them for five hours so in time may discover problems with quality of build. But the sound is the bomb, all i want to do is listen to all my music over again.

Oppo pm-3 quick review by mark2410. Oppo pm-3 quick reviewbrief: eh?. Witchcraft, witchcraft i sayprice: rrp is us$400 or £350, trip to the us anyone?specification: lots see here https://www. Com/headphones-pm-3/headphones-pm-3-features. Aspxaccessories: you get a hard case for them and i got 3 cables. One with no mic that was 3m long, the other two were “android and windows” phone cables with mic’s, one white and one black. I presume that one should have been an “apple” one maybe?.I don’t know, the specs don’t really say either, weird. Build quality: par excellence.

What a stunning set of headphones. These headphones are amazingi’m using them as mixing headphones because the sound they offer is super natural, and it shines a light on the details of any audio. They’ve proven pretty versatile as well, being great for gaming as well as for general use with instruments (electronic drums, keyboards). Pros:amazing sound, no amp required (unlike almost all headphones at this price point/sound quality – meaning you can use it with your phone, tablet etc as is), superb build quality, excellent value for money, look beautiful, come with multiple headphone cables at different lengths, nice casecons:not really suitable for outdoor use except maybe in the cold (can get warm inside the cups due to closed back design), super honest sound is not designed to make average music sound great – it is for giving you a true account of what you’re hearing. As such, bad mixes will be exposed, and possibly unflattering details might stand out more. No cons at all in build quality or designi personally ummed and ahhed and made lists for days trying to settle on the right headphone for my specific requirements: mixing headphones with honest, uncoloured sound; closed-back so i could produce anywhere; comfortable for long periods of use; powerful but not requiring amplification etc. Ultimately it came down to sony mdrs, ath m50s, dt770s, srh-940s and the pm-3s, and i don’t regret my choice. If you have an amp and are happy with open-back then consider sennheiser’s hd series as a good alternative, but personally i love my pm-3s and they will be my go-to for a long while i expect.

Brilliant headphones and brilliant service. . I font normally write reviews, in fact this is my first. I have had these headphones for a year now. They consistently deliver on sound quality all the way through the spectrum. Evan relay bad source equipment sounds good. Yesterday i released the ear-pads where starting to get worn (i use them every day for at least 3 hours, commute and at home). So i sent oppo uk an email asking if they can sell me some original pads. I was so surprised by the service i got it prompted me to write a review. They emails me back with a cost price of £4. 00 in total and they turned up this morning. Brilliant headphones and brilliant service.

The best for quality and comfort, but longevity of padding kicks off a star. I’ve had these headphones for a couple of years now, and they are one of my most prized possessions. Amazing sound quality, incredible comfort. You can wear them all day without any pain or discomfort. (i recently received a free pair of “high quality” beats headphones that i can only wear for an hour or so at a time because they squeeze too much and give me headache and sore ears. These are nothing like that. Instead of leather or other durable material, the padding is covered with pleather that starts to crack and peel off. So while they still work brilliantly, they no longer look the part.

I bought these as a replacement for my old akg k550 headphones. I wanted to try planar phones and i was not disappointed. The sound through my ipod is excellent. I was doubting that they would be as good as the reviews i had read insisted, but they are the best headphones i have had. The sound stage is not massive, as you would expect with enclosed over-the-ear cans, but they are tight and detailed. I have my music on lossless and that makes the sound from these even more impressive. I’m not an expert on bass, mid-range and treble responses – i never quite understand the language of audiophile mentioning fuzzy upper mid range or flat bass (i just made that up, but you probably recognise the things i’m talking about) – but i know that when i put on these ‘phones i am more involved in the music that i listen to than any other time other than using my in-door hi-fi system. I’m using an amplifier with these at the moment as my ipod has a eu loudness restriction placed on it, but i will be investing in a dac amplifier soo just to get that extra oomph into these phones. In regard to wearing them for extended periods, i have no problem with them.

Wondering whether they drown out aircraft engines?. Lots of reviews about the amazing sound quality on these things and the quality finish so won’t discuss too much about that. I asked a question before i bought these as to whether they are suitable for wearing on a plane, compared to noise cancelling headphones. I’ve owned bose qc on-ear headphones and still have a pair of bose qc in-ear headphones so wanted to compare to that – for both comfort for long haul flights and sound being able to drown out the engines. Didn’t get many world tested replies back, so went for it to try out for myself. Bought from a store and not amazon so i could test them out in-store and get some views from the staff there. Since then have been on several flights from short 1 hour hops to transatlantic long haul flights and have had quite a bit of time to test them. Comfort: they are pretty comfortable to wear and have fallen asleep wearing them without much problem. Sometimes my ears do get a little warm but lifting them off for a few seconds cools things down. Other times, i don’t notice it at all.

Best sounding closed back headphones in the price bracket. . I tested lots of different headphones including b&w, b&o, sony, akg and sennheiser momentums. I ended up buying the sennheisers because the b&w and b&o didn’t fit me properly. Even though the sennheisers didn’t sound as good as the b&w or b&o headphones. But i was never happy with the sennheisers sound quality. Then i got to try these oppo’s and they fitted me perfectly and sounded so much better. I use them with a audioquest dragonfly red dac with my phone or with my primare amp at home. To start with after listening to the sennheiser, the oppos sound flat and dull. But that just because the bass and treble isn’t exaggerated or pushy. They don’t sound as wide as the sennheisers.
