Nutrimaster N12001B Optimix Stand Mixer and Blender : All in one that lacks flexibility

Stand Mixers
1

This is a leading notch piece of package. Straight out of the box it appears extremely expert and it is. It is very substantial and weighty but this usually means it is robust. There are quite a few controls but you choose these up pretty speedily. The lid is in two sections and the rubber one particular seals incredibly tightly. It needs a agency push to seal it and then a little tug to take away. Just be thorough you will not tug much too tough. It handles every single task thrown at and does it properly. You can chop, mix, puree and liquidise in a jiffy.

Ooh we appreciated this gadget a lot. This comes in a extremely large box, but there is loads in that box, extremely neatly packed, with applications and recipe ebook wrapped separately. We found it easier to slide the contents out sideways on a flat surface area. The entire whole lot will come out in just one package inside of. Unpacked and established up, the unit stands on four suction ft. A extremely chunky mains cable plugs into the back, where by there’s a rocker change to control the electrical power. Switched on, the very first factor you’ll get is an alert of the jug is no in spot. The jug has to be in area ahead of you do anything. That is mainly because there is no start off-major button.

Gives far more than it can deliver nicely. . The nutrimaster provides a ton by way of operation, beyond that normally expected of a mixer and blender – it cooks stuff. I suppose the to start with problem may well be, why do you want, or will need, a blender to prepare dinner?. Properly, it can melt chocolate, for occasion, despite the fact that why you might want it to make soup, sauces, risotto or, for that make a difference mashed potato was anything that i set to the examination and, to be straightforward, observed the device seeking. The blender jug is undoubtedly a practical addition as could the mincer mechanism, of which i found not a trace on the web-site, which is in any case, fairly missing in my feeling. I examined the blender creating a fruit and yoghurt smoothie which was accomplished quickly and speedily so significantly so fantastic. I then resolved to use its delicacies functionality to cook up a garlic mash and adopted the instructions in the cookery ebook, getting 1st watched the incorporated video to see how to work the press button engineering which drives this solution. Ignoring the recommended time of 2o minutes, i set the temp to most and time to thirty minutes. Resetting again at the stop of this time for a more thirty mins, the potatoes were quite nearly cooked, but, at this place i gave up. Which brings me back again to my authentic question: why would you want a mixer that can prepare dinner?.Here are the specifications for the Nutrimaster N12001B Optimix Stand Mixer and Blender:

  • 5.5L Stainless Steel Mixing Bowl with Heating Function
  • Includes Glass Blending Jug, Measuring Cup and Drop-in Option
  • 6 Different Speed Settings with Pulse Control
  • LCD Digital Display
  • Optional Mincer Attachment Available

This is by much the best blender i ahve made use of. I like the design and it is akin to the professional ones you see in cafe’s and juice bars, pretty similar. The whole detail is fantastic top quality and it demonstrates through. The moment everything unpacked you are great to go. Initial matters 1st, this is a right blender, not a bullet design and style 1 and so thee is some thoroughly clean up further than the cup. However, it is greater, far more potent and commonly additional handy. As the blurb says, makes soup, sorbets, and every thing else. The controls are mega simple from preset moments to automobile method. You can pulse, management pace, power etcso, the effects are phenomenal.

Excellent in operate, but way also cumbersome. . Now let’s get something out of the way initial, i am a kitchenaid kinda dude. Admittedly on the other hand, if you are immediately after a little something further than a excellent mixer and you should not want to devote a fortune this may possibly be for you. The mixer is great and the heating perform important. The hooked up blender is an oddity, but appear at it this way, these devices are bulky now, so you could as effectively cram as quite a few capabilities in there as you can. In general i am joyful with it, but i would recommend seeing a single in a shop ahead of you obtain as it may well be too chunky for your taste.

Reviews from purchasers :

  • Soup maker works perfectly & makes good soup but a part was missing so can’t comment on other uses. DVD & recipe book not good!
  • Offers more than it can deliver well.
  • All in one that lacks flexibility

It is a lot taller and bulkier than my kenwood chef, so be mindful it’s going to take a major chunk of your worktop space. You definitely will not likely want to be lugging it in and out of a cabinet. On unboxing it i was unimpressed. It’s black, and unattractive, and has a lumpy ‘soviet’ appear with odd lettering, a clunky searching screen with small white bits caught at the rear of it (it’s possible bits of the polystyrene packaging?) and incredibly badly finished uncooked edges exactly where the plastic casing is pierced for buttons and switches. It certainly doesn’t appear like £400 truly worth. Attaching and eradicating the (poorly finished) attachments is stiff and feels insecure. Almost nothing like the kenwood which even in present day manufactured in china plastic model even now has an air of excellent.

I have analyzed a selection of mixers in excess of the yrs. The best 1 has normally been my mothers, as sound 1960’s kenwood mixer which has in no way long gone erroneous and has an amazing motor. I have tested the affordable and high-priced. Some have been fantastic some undesirable. This a single is quite appealing. It is in the comparatively low-cost price tag assortment, nevertheless this mixer packs 1 heck of a punch. It is significant, which means its rigid and does not transfer when mixing. The motor is a solid 1200w. Although this is not the strongest wattage on a mixer, it is nonetheless suitable for what a domestic house needs.

Good blender though expensive. This is a good, heavy duty blender. The motor makes light work of ice, for example – the acid test for a good blender. I have yet to find anything that it does not blend. It makes good smoothies – it is fun throwing anything in and experimenting (some taste better than others). What surprises me is how good some improvised smoothies taste. In that respect, it is good for losing weight and for eating more healthily – it is fun to experiment with, throwing in whatever i have around. It feels reassuringly heavy and chunky – it feels good quality.

Delivers less than it promises. . This mixer looks the business and going on looks alone you’d imagine that it was a capable kitchen machine, however, it fails to deliver in capability or practicality. Closer inspection reveals a plasticky machine, that is suspiciosly light. The main problem lies in the motor; it just isn’t powerful enough, giving you just five minutes of bread kneading time before you are advised to allow the motor to cool. Even using the whisk to make meringue will cause the motor to eventually overheat. The blender works fine but struggles with ice. It has a glass jug but the lid feels flimsy. Used as a cooking device, it certainly works, to a degree, but just isn’t that practical, unless, i suppose, you have a tiny, ill-equipped kitchen but then why would you put such a huge machine in it?. I can’t see the benefit of using this machine to cook in when i already have a hob, with which i can get much better results. I didn’t like the results from the nutrimaster and although i’m only an amateur cook, i can make better food than the recipes provided.

Ok but disapointed it did not come with steamer basket. Ok but disapointed it did not come with steamer basket which costs an extra £20. Also a little confusing to understand how to start machine and the on switch is underneith machine which is not very practical.

I’d say it’s a bit on the bulky side than i’d prefer, and some of the attachments are somewhat fiddly, so not a full 5 star effort, but all the functions work very, and it’s generally excellent to use, once you’ve lugged it onto the worktop and set it up.

5 for mixing, 3 for blending and 0 for cooking. I have taken some time to do this review to ensure i explored all elements of using the nutrimaster n12001a optimix stand mixer and blender properly, which included looking for online videos to try and help me master some of the trickier functionality. The fact that i had to look elsewhere to try and understand how to work the machine was due to the fact that i couldn’t get the cuisine function to work at all. Now i followed the instructions to the letter multiple times on several occasions but with no luck and no heat produced. After several attempts on different days i gave up (mental note to self – do not attempt to make french onion soup for invited guests without checking if the machine function works first – what ‘fun’ that was) and have come to the conclusion that the heating element must be broken or the instructions are incorrect – either way this has been tremendously disappointing as it’s the main selling point of the machine. However, if anyone can tell me what i’m doing wrong then please leave a comment and let me knowso to the mixing element of the machine, which worked well, producing excellent results for cakes and whisking eggs/cream etc. The metal mixing bowl is large, so can manage a large cake mix easily, it’s also light enough to use on the weighing scales if you like to cumulatively add ingredients before mixing. The attachments are ok, not the highest quality, but work fine. I struggled to get the attachments fitted at first, but now i have the knack they are easy.

Good workhorse mixer when used for general tasks. As a soup maker, it’s a bit of a disappoint- you have to peel, chop, and cook the ingredients before adding to the belnder (which does heat). As an ordinary blender, though, it does quite well. I’ve chopped ice in it (small cubes) and made smoothies in it, and it was fantastic for that. The heavy duty glass jug and tightly fitted lid gave me no worries about the ice damaging the jug or the top popping off. The stand mixer is likewise great. I’ve had a 1970’s kenwood chef workhorse for years, kept well maintained, and this actually makes a creamier batter. The buttons look quite daunting, but it does come with a dvd that clearly explains how to use it, and it’s not as complicated as it seems before watching it. Some of the things it can do require accessories that you’ll have to buy separately- such as a mincer, and the piece you can put in the blender in order to boil eggs (not sure why i’d want to use it for that, but i guess some folks might). It is quite large and takes up a large footprint on the countertop, so be aware of that if you have limited countertop and cupboard space.

Easy to use and stylish too. The dispatch time, packaging and overall quality of this blender was all very good. The blender works well for making soups, smoothies, fruit compote, and it also mixes eggs and flour really well too. It’s easy to assemble, easy to clean and straight forward to operate. However the recipie booklet and instruction manual included with the blender was very poor indeed with hardly any instructions given on the blender use or recipies where the blender is specifically needed to be used. Overall great product but with useless paperwork included.

Personally i’m very impressed with this blender. Presentation wise it looks impressive, and although longer it’s a reasonable size for storage in my smaller kitchen. It has a sturdy base with a light up control and some basic buttons. The jug is a larger size , with a nice handle and spout and easy enough to use but can be heavy when full . So not for kiddies to hold – as my neice is unhappy about it. The controls are way to use, settings for timings and arrows to control the speed. With the basic power button. I found the instructions useless but it’s easy to figure out plus there are loads of youtube videos on how to use plus different ideas for recipes. Mixing wise its fantastic, i have had loads of blenders over the years and some of them struggled with certain items like bananas , or could only blend for a second before sounding like they were burning out.

Having owned several soup makers i was tempted into getting this one thanks to the detachable blades at the base, making it much easier to clean. It is a good little piece of kit and i like the idea you can do more than make soup with the addition of the steamer basket. It is a bit larger than the kettle style soup makers i’ve owned previously, but the capacity is greater too. Having a very small kitchen with limited storage space i think the detachable design would be a good opportunity for the manufacturer to produce additional accessories you could use with the one base such as a juicer or food processor – a big bonus for those of us without the space to store multiple appliances. My only negatives are the plastic retaining clip for the blade and the seals on the blade and lid – worry they will not last the duration. Having said that with a 3 year guarantee that should not pose any issue as they will hopefully be covered.

All in one that lacks flexibility. This large appliance (and it really is big, be sure and check your space availability as this is akin to a small microwave in footprint and has the height of a blender) offers the flexibility of a blender that heats the contents with the bones of a steaming facility and built in scales. All very promising but the reality after some weeks of testing is that usability and flexibility is not as good as it could be and that has meant that we ended up favouring separate and more compact soup mixers/ blenders and steamers. Well the jug was at times reluctant to fix securely to the base and equally difficult to easily remove, perhaps a fault with our particular test unit but increasingly frustrating. Blending certainly was efficient if a little noisy and it heated contents but our existing dedicated soup mixer was just as efficient and faster. To heat, you seem to have to have the blender on so any hot food will be blended. Cleaning of the jug was also not as easy as other blenders. The steamer worked well but again, the same results could be achieved just as easily with a dedicated steamer such as those from tefal that would also offer more flexibility in steaming multiple foods at the same time and also take up less storage space. The built in scales are useful but not a feature that turns this into a must have gadget compared to buying separate specialist appliances.

Good in function, but way too bulky. . Now let’s get something out of the way first, i am a kitchenaid kinda guy. Admittedly however, if you are after something beyond a good mixer and don’t want to spend a fortune this may be for you. The mixer is good and the heating function important. The attached blender is an oddity, but look at it this way, these devices are bulky already, so you might as well cram as many functions in there as you can. Overall i am happy with it, but i would advise seeing one in a shop before you buy as it may be too chunky for your taste.

Soup maker works perfectly & makes good soup but a part was missing so can’t comment on other uses. I used this at the weekend to have a go at making soup. The item comes nicely presented with a colourful recipe book and a dvd. The soup maker itself is also quite an attractive design, albeit slightly on the bulky side. The buttons on the front are easy enough to just wipe clean and in general look quite smart, even though, in my opinion they do feel a little bit on the cheap side when pressing them but that’s only a small complaint. I had a quick look on the nutrimaster facebook page to see what recipes they had on there as well which was quite helpful and watched the dvd that it came with to get a rough idea of how to use the item and clean it. However, watching the dvd was a mistake. I was all fired up, keen and excited to use the soup machine when it came but after watching the dvd i felt very disappointed (i think we both did) because it really didn’t seem to do the machine any favours at all and kind of made me wish we hadn’t have gone to the effort of going and getting ingredients in especially to use it. It made the machine seem pointless if you have to chop, brown, cook, prepare and god knows what else with the ingredients before using the soup maker.

Not bad, but could be better. . Let me get the bad stuff out of the way. Mine didn’t come with the steam basket. I wasn’t bothered by this as i already have a steamer. Well, those for cleaning it. The cleaning instructions are actually the solutions from the troubleshooting guide. Cleaning is pretty simple, but it would be nice to have the instructions written down. The soup maker is pretty easy to use, once you realise that you have to press “off” to turn it onin use, it’s a bit noisy, but so is my food processor. I’ve only used the quick soup setting, and it’s not bad. It was a bit too corse for a smooth soup, but too fine for a chunky one. It would have been better with a little longer cooking. I will continue to experiment with this, as that is why i got it. I have the feeling that using the manual settings will give better results. I might have given this a 4 star rating, but i can’t get in touch with the company.

This nutrimaster n12001a is easily the best mixer i think i have ever had, in fact to call it just a mixer does a huge injustice to it as it is so much more and really is such a multi functional device. It will probably take me several years to get around to trying all of the functions. The blender will get lots of use in my house mixing up smoothies and protein shakes, that’s for sure. I have to admit that i have never made home made soup but i am definitely going to give it a go now that i have the perfect device for it. I may even venture to trying my hand at making the odd cake and home made bread or rolls now. The device itself is quite heavy and reasonably large and it does up quite a bit of room on my kitchen counter, but it seems very solidly built. I can’t fault the functionality and ease of use either, the display is easy to read, the speed settings easy to change and the range of accessories seem more than adequate. Overall a fantastic product and usable by the novice, like me, to the more seasoned cooks out there.

At its heart, this is a heated blender/mixer, but it brings a lot of other useful features, along with a few strange usability issues that have resulted in the two lost stars. The weirdest thing is that the blend function has to be on in order for the heating function to start. So, for instance, if you want to heat some water in order to use the steamer attachment, you’ll essentially be blending at the same time. If i’m totally wrong on this being a requirement, then please let me know, since i couldn’t figure out an alternative method based on the manual. My wife has found the controls quite unintuitive and confusing. It’s possible to get used to the workflow, but you may need to refer to the manual for the first few uses. Besides that, the steamer attachment works extremely well. Anyway, it excels as a soup maker. Bung the ingredients in and it will simultaneously heat and blend them.

It’s packs a punch, with some neat touches. On getting the unit unpacked, my initial impression is that the unit itself is quite heavy / chunky, but gives a real sense of solidity. It might be a challenge in a small kitchen, but the immediate advantage is that it doesn’t move / bounce around the counter, especially when in usethe whole feel is of a good solid build and it certainly chomps through all the tougher vegetables, nuts, etc with little effort. The controls are all sensibly set out, and are protected by a wipe clean surface. The timer function is my favorite feature. Just set it up, set in motion and i can potter about with other jobs in the kitchen at the same time. I do like the design, but my only criticisms are aimed at the lid, which doesn’t screw down (it pushes down into place) and can be a little fiddly to get secured into place. The lid also needs to be removed (not quite completely) remove / pour the contents out. On a major plus, the blade setup has a pair of ‘dropper’ paddles, that lift from the very bottom of the jug. So, there’s little chance of material getting stuck below the blade (i’ve whizzed up a batch of humus, no problem at all).

This review is from : Nutrimaster N12001B Optimix Stand Mixer and Blender, 1200 W

Expensive but isambard kingdon brunel built blenders. My review is for the jug blender only, there are several very different models listed on this page, let’s not get them mixed upthis is a behemoth of a blender. It is big and powerful and seems like it could turn a housebrick into a smoothie if you threw one in there, at £170 it is not cheap and there are cheaper rivals out there such as this one which i bought recently for my mum: professional blender coolife commercial 1400w high-speed mixer full nutrition food with 67 oz bpa-free plastic jar for ice shakes smoothies fruit vegetables kitchen juicer, black. The cheaper rival is slightly less powerful at 1400w and lacks some of the preset functions of this one together with the shiny front and lcd panel but otherwise is almost the same machine. Inside the large box it was shipped were the blender base, plastic jug and lid, a weird looking tamper thing, user guide, and two colour recipe books. Build quality seems first rate and everything seems build to last. Design wise it is no thing of beauty and seems better suited to the commercial kitchen than on show at home. On show it will be however as when assembled it is very tall and unlikely to fit under top cupboards on most kitchen worksurfaces. It has a large mono backlit lcd display to show current status together with some timer presets on the front and controls for power, a burst setting.

Wahl James Martin Stand Mixer, Basic mixer which does the job

Cheap and looks and feels it. Nothing like the quality of even a modern kenwood. The shiny black finish is soft and marks easily, and although this machine produces a perfectly good cake, it just isn’t a pleasure to use. Good entry level stand mixer for the occasional baker. If …

Russell Hobbs Desire Kitchen Machine Mixer 20350, Not worth the money

For me this is a difficult item to review. It looks great, has a nice feel to it and did everything i wanted to a satisfactory level. However, it does have its downfalls, mainly being the noise when you use it. The excess vibrating i can deal with, but for …
