Having previously owned a nespresso lastissima, i can safely say this is a great machine. The coffee part of it works in exactly the same way as all nespresso products and is as consistent as ever. The milk part is far superior to my previous machine and makes drinks that taste great. Some reviewers have mentioned their drinks not being hot enough, and i too can’t stand ‘warm’ when i want ‘hot’ – but i have not had that problem and the drinks are hot enough for me. The machine is easy to use, looks great and has a good water tank capacity. It’s a lot of money for something that only does one thing, but it does it really well so i am confident about the value. I have also previously owned a bean to cup machine which gave similarly high quality results, but required a lot of maintanence and cleaning and results were often variable, particularly with fresh beans going off very quickly. This machine completely does away with that problem.
We’ve had a fairly basic krupps coffee machine for quite a while and have been pleased with it. It produces nice coffee, with decent frothy milk using a sort of whirring device if you want it, and takes all the standard capsules. Having now had the chance to try out this sage machine, i have a feeling the krupps one is destined for a long period in the back of the kitchen cupboard though as the sage is several steps up from it. It puts me in mind of the sort of device found in the better coffee shops. Several other reviewers have already covered its capabilities in some detail, so it’s pretty pointless me repeating them here, but suffice to say that although it’s an expensive machine, you really are getting what you pay for. If looks are important to you, although it’s not huge, it’s very striking and will certainly be a conversation piece with friends and family. The standard coffee looks and tastes great (although i have to admit it did from our old one as well – it’s mainly down to the pods you use i suppose), but it particularly excels with milky ones. The steam frother is a great feature and also does the job more quickly than our old whirring one. Personally i tend to mostly have decaff as caffeine really doesn’t agree with my joints (most disappointing, but it’s amazing how much i ache after a few days of ordinary coffee) and it’s pleasing that decent decaff pods are available.
Particularly good at heating and frothing milk. Particularly good at heating and frothing milk.
Our first coffee machine, and we absolutely love it. Easy to sue, fantastic tasting coffee at the touch of a button and elegantly chic to look at seated on the kitchen counter.
From my 5 stars it should be pretty obvious that i absolutely love this coffee machine. I am a big fan of nespresso and have been using nespresso lattissima for the past two years. When i received this product i was over the moon and hence now i am going to talk through in detail to make sure i can do justice to this beautiful coffee machine. Designthe machine comes in a suitcase-style leather feel box. To my surprise sage is much lighter than lattissima. The beautiful champagne colour went so well with my white kitchen. The design looks very sleek, refined and elegant. The machine comes with a jug to warm and froth up the milk and the back glass box for water has a handy hook to it, which makes it easier to detach -not a feature of the previous model. This little hook makes it much easier to detach the jug for refill.

I love this machine, it is much simpler than my gaggia and easy to clean. I have been practising my latte art but not quite there but getting there.
The addition of the steam wand is great. Really like the ability to customise each recipe. Bought this as an upgrade to my previous inissia machine. The addition of the steam wand is great.Really like the ability to customise each recipe (coffee volume, milk temperature and froth level). It takes a bit of experimenting to get the milk volume right for each recipe, but once you do it’s perfect coffee every time. Definitely found that semi-skimmed/full fat milk gives better results than skimmed. Also very impressed with the lcd display which takes you through each recipe and even gives instructions for cleaning.
