Musaic MP10 – Wireless Smart Speaker : No music through my

Brilliant design, amazing sound easy to use it’s a no brainer. I’ve got three musaic speakers already. I use an mp10 in my lounge, an mp10 in the kid’s bedroom and an mp5 which i use on the landing to fill out the sound for entertaining. I saw the system was now available on amazon and that prompted me to buy another mp10 for the bedroom which i guess makes me a bit of a fan. The company is a uk start-up which as a small business owner myself is what originally got me interested. In the early days there were definitely some gaps in the software but the apps and software have got steadily better and better and are pretty much faultless nowadays. I am a spotify user so i love the fact i can just use the spotify app directly with the speakers. The sound quality is frankly amazing for reasonably small speakers, the mp10 definitely has more bass oomph but the mp5 is in some ways more impressive because you can’t quite believe how big it sounds for its size. One thing that maybe people don’t realise is that pretty much any radio station you might know of anywhere in the world is on internet radio and that means that these speakers are much much better than a dab radio. The speakers are pretty simple to use and of course the kids understand them right away, they listen to a lot of music on you tube and soundcloud so the bluetooth functionality also works for them.

We have two of these devices in our home and they are excellent. They provide a depth of sound which is incredible for such a small device and the mp5 is particularly good for small and medium rooms and provides excellent value for money. The user interface is intuitive and is continually being improved (the company is still only a few years old). In addition the customer service from the company is excellent and any issues are very quickly resolved. I previously owned a sonos system and i find musaic a great step up, both in terms of sound quality and as part of a ‘smart-home’ environment, linking with other internet-connected devices.

The mp10 has better bass, feels more solid and has some really. I’ve come to the musaic range having been a long-time sonos user and i’m a convert. Physically, the mp10 has better bass, feels more solid and has some really neat extra functions like the ability to charge an attached usb device (your phone or tablet, perhaps). The bluetooth function and the choice of wifi or ethernet networking is good to have. One of my favourite features is the possibility of using any allplay compatible app to control it – you can use doubletwist or compatible apps for other allplay devices eg from panasonic or lenco, and of course spotify and windows 10. You can synchronise rooms just like sonos (face it, you’re comparing the two) but this player goes beyond – you can also control your home lighting (philips hue for example) and other neat smarthome features using ifttt. If that sounds a little bit too jetsons, don’t worry, you don’t have to – and the musaic has features for you too. Unlike the play:5 it has physical controls on the top so you can assign four presets for music – i have it set to my favourite internet radio stations. It will play music from your phone, from your network and from your subscribed services, and it has a really neat feature built into the android app (probably ios too) which displays the various music charts and top songs – you simply tap on one and it will show you all the internet radio stations currently playing it. If you’re connected via bluetooth or audio cable it can also share the input to other musaic units (i also have an mp5 in another room). Here are the specifications for the Musaic MP10 – Wireless Smart Speaker:

  • Enter your model number
    to make sure this fits.
  • The larger Musaic smart speaker with a built-in subwoofer. Play music from your phone, tablet, stored music collections, internet radio and your favourite streaming apps such as Spotify
  • Wide, atmospheric sound with deep bass to fill any room and sound natural from any listening angle
  • Quick and simple to set up, supports Wi-Fi, Ethernet and Bluetooth for ultimate flexibility
  • Maximises the sound quality of almost any file type including 24-bit for the ultimate in high-fidelity
  • Can be connected to smart lighting systems such as Philips Hue and LightwaveRF or hundreds of other products via IFTTT to create an equally simple to set up smart home

I have had both the mp10 and mp5 for some time. The sound is great and easy to operate using the app. It seems if you want to play music stored on say your ipad or iphone you have to keep the app as the running one. You cannot for example set it up to play music from your ipad and then go off and do some work in word. Eventually the music drops out and you have to go back to the musaic app to get it going again. Also streaming from itunes on your desktop is not so easy. Playing streamed music from the internet or using internet radio is fine as once the connection is made to the internet it keeps it playing. It is playing music stored on your iphone or ipad is the problem.

Brilliant little speaker – super smart, super easy. I bought this mp5 music player along with its big brother the musaic mp10 music player – wireless smart home speaker for multi-room music streaming – black/silver in the original kickstarter campaign a couple of years ago and i love them both. I have the mp5 in my bedroom and the mp10 is in my sitting room as it’s a bigger room. The mp5 sounds amazing for such a small speaker – it more than fills my room and the bass is really impressive. It was really easy to set up – just plug it in and connect it to your home network through the app. I mostly stream music from spotify but also use the internet radio service a lot – i have an alarm set to wake up to the radio in the morning every day.

The sound is fantastic, the mp10 is more than capable of filling. Our previous wireless streamer died a few months ago, so i began to look into the various options available. I’ve spent the last few months reading reviews and visiting stores so that i could listen to the devices in various settings, sonos, bose and naim to name a few. They all either lacked a feature i needed, or the sound they rendered just wasn’t quite right. I then happened to come across a review for some new devices on the market by a british company called musaic. The reviews spoke volumes, so i purchased the mp10 for living room. The device itself is very user friendly and to me has a retro, yet modern look about it. The app installed flawlessly onto an android device, and quickly navigated me through setting up player. Adding my own content was simple as this is sat on a server running asset upnp. In addition, we can effortlessly use our spotify accounts to stream music.

I have bought a number of audio streaming devices, some of which i have successfully synced even though many people posted on amazon that they found it impossible to. However, out of all of the speakers i have tried, this speaker was the best sounding of all when connected via bluetooth. Zero noise interference while waiting between songs or during low volume sections, such as you get when listening to classical music or radio dramas. Unfortunately, i had to return it as nothing i did would make it sync with my wi-fi network so i’m unable to judge how good it may have sounded had i been able to connect it. I may buy another next year and give it a second chance, especially if the price is lowered as the sound quality really is that good via bluetooth which is why i still give it 4 stars. But at nearly £280, it is a very expensive way to listen to highly compressed music files.

Bought this having heard bose and sonos equivalents. Easy to set up and spotify is truly incredible through this and the mp5. Bought the mp5 a week after the mp10 arrived. The 10 sits in the lounge with the 5 in the kitchen. Easy to “”group” the players together for a party atmosphere. I control mine from either my samsung galaxy s4, samsung tab a or my kindle hdx. Seriously they are brilliant with a very straightforward app to allow complete control. You won’t be disappointed, love musaic.

I recently bought an mp5 for our kitchen/dining room. It was so easy to set up, it didn’t take long at all and i was listening to spotify in no time. I really like that you can play music straight from the spotify app so no matter whether i’m on my phone, tablet or laptop i can easily listen through the mp5. The musaic app is really easy to use as well and i really like the design – the icons are really nice and i like that i can see all my album covers in the app. The mp5 itself looks great and sounds fantastic – everyone who has been over to our house since we’ve had it has commented on how good it sounds. I also like the buttons on the top because sometimes i don’t want to use the app to make it play music, but at the same time because they’re touch buttons they’re not too visible – from certain angles you can’t actually really see them which is nice. Overall we’re really happy with our mp5 and will think about getting another one for the sitting room at some point so we can play the same music in both rooms at the same time.

Fantastic system, great investment. Absolutely love my musaic system – i have the mp10 as well as the musaic mp5 music player – wireless smart home speaker for multi-room music streaming – black/silver and use them every day. My mp10 is in my sitting room and the mp5 is in my bedroom next door, so i can have music playing in both rooms at the same time and wander between. I mostly stream music from spotify but also use the internet radio service a lot – it’s pretty cool that i can listen to new zealand stations as a kiwi living in the uk. The mp10 sounds fantastic and looks really nice – i love the touch buttons on the top too as i can start playing the radio without having to use my phone. I think i’ll get one for my kitchen next – just trying to decide which one.

Modern, powerful and simple to use. . This has not been the first wireless hi-fi that i have purchased but i can honestly say that it is the best i have come across. For those who like sleek lines and modern designs, you will not be disappointed, although it’s nice to see that musaic haven’t gone over the top. The build is also very solid, giving me the confidence that it will last a good few years. For something so compact the sound quality is amazing (currently sat in the study listening to spotify from the lounge). The biggest plus for me is that my wife is able to use it without assistance, proving that it’s simple to operate.

Great sound and great looks. Very happy with this purchase. Looks great, the white gloss finish matches my white telly very well. More importantly it delivers quality clear sound. The sub woofer provides just enough bass and there’s plenty of power, so loud enough for when listening to music or …
