I have used this a couple of times now and have no complaints really. It was easy to setup and also pretty quick to install maps. There is not cable supplied to plug this into a computer but it just a standard usb so didn’t cause too many issues. I was able to fit the sat nav to my window pretty easily, although it was a tad fiddly. It does stay firmly in place. The two journeys i have made using this have been fine. The sat nav has got me there and the instructions are clear. The product itself looks good, its slimline and a nice grey colour.
This is a good solid sat nav. It’s a sturdy unit with a firm suction grip holder. The screen is clear and voice commands clear and easy to follow. I found the software a little counter-intuitive. It’s not immediately obvious how to return to the main screen and cancel route guidance, which is likely to be when you’re halfway through a journey. It also takes a bit of familiarity to enter addresses with anything other than the postcode, street and town names can be irritating. I tried deliberately going a different way and on correcting the route automatically it told me to turn down a neighbour’s private drive, drive past his front door and get back onto the road onto a track. He wouldn’t have been impressed if i’d done that. I suppose that is a failing in the map data rather than this particular satnav, but i haven’t come across it before.
Straightforward to use and reliable. . I haven’t felt the need to buy a sat navigation system before as i have a good sense of direction and can read a map with zero difficulty. However when this came up on amazon vine i thought i’d give it a go. I’m glad i did because recently i’ve been getting sent to far flung remote areas on business and this little beauty has made life so much easier for me – no more pulling into laybyes to check road maps. It is not too clunky looking on the dashboard and is easy to connect and disconnect. Downloading the software was straightforward even for a technophobe like me. Setting the functionality to suit the dimensions of your vehicle is also straightforward and it is simplicity itself to enter your intended destination postcode. So far i’ve been using it for a couple of weeks and it hasn’t let me down yet. I’ve arrived at all my destinations without a problem and have not ended up in any dead-ends or remote farm tracks (as happened more than once when using the gps on my phone). I’m sure there will be technologically more sophisticated and sleeker looking systems out there but this gets you from a to b and is reliable and competitively priced.
My garmin sat nav gave up the ghost recently so i was looking forward to the arrival of this new device. The display is great – nice big graphics, clean, easy to read design. It comes with the usual mounting arm and kit to fix it to the window – standard, no issues there. The device found the satellites easily and the process to enter your destination is straightforward. I’ve had no problems at all with finding different destinations. From the product description it seems like this is the most basic model in this range. Personally i wouldn’t need any more features or functionality than this offers. And that comes from someone with no sense of direction or map-reading ability who completely relies on a sat nav to get me anywhere outside of my normal route to and from work.
Sat nav was ok but be warned advertised it comes with live traffic alerts but doesnt had to return.
Reviews from purchasers :
- First rate satellite navigation
- Good for the value
- An excellent purchase
Not exactly useful when trying to find where you want to go. I have to say this is a bit hit and miss, mainly because it likes to do its own thing such as predictive text when looking for addresses. Not exactly useful when trying to find where you want to go in a hurry. It doesn’t seem as up to date as other sat navs. But having said that it isn’t as expensive as other ones. It does work but it is not sensational.
Good value if you need truck mode. If this mio spirit 7670 lm truck had just been for cars, i would have given it no more than 3 stars. Compared to my wife’s garmin, which was not that much more expensive, it is a bit clunky, and the interface seems a little slow. Updates are only available on a pc, so no mac connection. On the road, the sound was a bit muffled, but audible, there is 2 choices of voice, one that will read out the street names, the other doesn’t. When on-line you can download a male voice. On the plus side, it was easy to set up and use. The maps seem to be up to date, and the speed limit graphic is always useful as is the speed limit alert. It was easy to install in the car, and has a useful hour-ish of battery life is you stick it into pedestrian mode. The saving grace for the 7670 truck is truck mode and the reason for the 4 stars.
