Excellent image quality and very intuitive to use, also power cable is long enough to reach right around the edge of the windscreen on my fiat motorhome.
This is one of the better camaras. This will be the 3rd camara i have bought for my vehicles, whilst at first looks a little complicated once in position and plugged in it works itselfexelent picture when viewed on computer screen.
Great camera, views in the day time are good, night time are average, but they all are limited at night, the let down is the bracket, it has limited angles and use, i have a large and steep windscreen, peugeot 3008, and this does not allow all the positions i like, that said, i have found a good position on the screen now, the camera is small, but needs space due to the bracket. I have a 32gb card and again this is needed for 3+ hours etc. Overall a great unit, i dont miss the gps and speed recording, i have turned of the mic / sound recording so as to save space. The software the manufacturer supplies is ok, but i just plug and play on a windows 7 pc and the standard movie package opens and reads it, all good. Unfortunately the wifi feature is useless for few reasons. I’ve been using this dash cam for few days. I bought the wifi model to eliminate the process of taking the memory card out of the device to view on full screen or backup the recordings. Unfortunately the wifi feature is useless for few reasons; (1) the camera will not turn the wifi on if you choose to record in highest resolution (1296p). (2) the wifi file transfer is extremely slow, a 3 minutes clips in 1080p will take 20+ minutes to transfer (3) the camera suggest you to pause recording if you choose to transfer files faster over the wifi although still it takes 15+ minutes to transfer a 3 minutes clip. The recordings in 1080p and 1296p are otherwise very clear and crisp.
Reviews from purchasers :
- This is one of the better camaras
- Very pleased with this item.
- Smart little camera!
I wanted one of these having read a very good review in the telegraph, and saw this one at a good price . It certainly meets my expectations – the quality of video is excellent, in varying light levels, and road signs and number plates can be clearly read when playback is paused to test this, and i find the location (in latitude and longitude) and speed (in km/hr) of interest. I have not (yet) tested the device in an emergency situation .I am using it with a 32gb memory card, which provides plenty of room for storage. I do still have reservations about the installation – i am using blutack to fix the power wire around the windscreen, which seems to work well, and my car (’04 ford focus) has two power outlets within easy reach – however, i have my ‘hands free’ permanently in one of them, which calls for even more wires . I do wish, though, that the power supply had a usb end rather than the big charger that it does (which can get in the way) – i think it must be possible to replace the wire with a usb to mini usb lead, but you still need the ‘charger’ to provide the right amperage for the device. I deliberately chose this mio model, rather than the deluxe version because i could see no point in having a speed camera facility (the only obvious difference) since i use a satnav as well. The mio is a bit more expensive than many such devices – but a lot cheaper than many others.
Great little camera and very good value.
