LightwaveRF Magnetic Door & Window Switch : Works great with my Lightwave Lights

Individual lots of lightwaverf devices and this operates as expected – straightforward to set up and simple to use.

Does what it claims on the tin. . Just what i was expecting and works like a allure with vera lite and rfx converter, it only gets four stars while as it’s a tiny cumbersome in comparison to fibaro equal.

Fantastic sensor for my lightwave set up, but could do with more timer options. Here are the specifications for the LightwaveRF Magnetic Door & Window Switch:

  • Magnetic Switch can be attached to any door or window to trigger LightwaveRF Lighting, Power and Heating devices
  • Activated by the opening or closing door or window to which it is attached
  • Intuitive, easy setup and use
  • Isolate commonly used entrances
  • Aid security

Only performs a person way not on and off.

They are low-cost but they work. Great if you have a 433mhz transceiver and dwelling automation server. Does the work, but you genuinely require an rfxtrx433e usb adapter (or very similar) and a laptop/house automation server to get the most out of them. In any other case, you might be rather minimal as to what you can do with the open up/shut indicators that these issues transmit. It really is excellent that you can pair these them with a lightwaverf dimmer switch (so you can make a light occur on when the door is open, for example) but devoid of additional hardware/software program, you won’t be able to, say, have them set off an alarm or send a notification to your cellular phone to inform you if somebody broke in (which – it appears to be to me – must be the principal purpose of a door/window sensor). The vary on these looks ok, while will not anticipate them to operate if you connect them to/in the vicinity of your huge steel garage door. Huge steel objects get in the way of the signal (even if that big metal item is not essentially *involving* the sensor and the transceiver. I figured out this the difficult way. In the end i acquired an different sensor (also 433mhz) and i’m working with eventghost with an rfxtrx433e transceiver as a wise dwelling protection technique that sends alerts to my android cell phone by way of autoremote. They do the task pretty well.

Reviews from purchasers :

  • Works great with my Lightwave Lights
  • Light On when a door is left open.
  • Works as expected

Gentle on when a door is left open. . Been employing this for a several months now on a door. When the door opens it would make my lampstand light come on which is plugged into a single gang lightwaverf socket.

Now attached to my front door for an automatic porch gentle.

They’re cheap but they work. Great if you have a 433mhz transceiver and home automation server. Does the job, but you really need an rfxtrx433e usb adapter (or similar) and a pc/home automation server to get the most out of them. Otherwise, you’re somewhat limited as to what you can do with the open/close signals that these things transmit. It’s great that you can pair these them with a lightwaverf dimmer switch (so you can make a light come on when the door is open, for example) but without additional hardware/software, you can’t, say, have them trigger an alarm or send a notification to your phone to alert you if someone broke in (which – it seems to me – should be the primary function of a door/window sensor). The range on these seems ok, though don’t expect them to work if you attach them to/near your big metal garage door. Large metal objects get in the way of the signal (even if that large metal object is not necessarily *between* the sensor and the transceiver. I learned this the hard way. In the end i bought an alternative sensor (also 433mhz) and i’m using eventghost with an rfxtrx433e transceiver as a smart home security system that sends alerts to my android phone via autoremote. They do the job fairly well.

It’s a shame it doesn’t work with other hubs but not a problem.

Good sensor for my lightwave set up, but could do with more timer settings.

Works great with my lightwave lights. Works great with my lightwave lights. I’m basically just using this as a “check” to see if my doors upstairs are shut properly so that when i set the burglar alarm, i don’t have to run upstairs each time to “santiy check” if i left the doors open or not :-).

Works brilliantly for controlling an inside cupboard light so it’s turned on and off by opening the sliding doors.

Does what it says on the tin. . Exactly what i was expecting and works like a charm with vera lite and rfx converter, it only gets 4 stars though as it’s a little bulky compared to fibaro equivalent.

I had a problem getting a circuit breaker door switch to work with the led lights inside my large kitchen storage cupboard. For some reason a wired switch would just not work reliably. My house is already well served with lightwaverf wireless home automation devices and so it seemed the quickest option just to incorporate this into the system. With the lighting rig plugged into a socket controlled by a lightwaverf wireless light & power on-off socket kit (3 pack) complete with hand held remote – iphone and android smartphone controllable i was able to quickly and easily link it to this door circuit breaker switch. Now whenever the cupboard door is opened the lights come on. Should i want to can also turn the lighting off and on with the handset supplied with the socket set and even control it from across the internet. The great thing about all lightwaverf products is the way they integrate together. An annoying problem solved for me with this cheap and easy to fit unit.

Byron 1217 Wired Wall Battery Operated Bell Kit – : Easy to set up and install

This item will come with packaging that advertises ‘new louder sound’. I would say it’s about average loudness – ample to listen to everywhere in a tiny property if there just isn’t too significantly other noise. However i acquired this for my ageing in-legal guidelines who are likely rather deaf …
