The design is perfect for my needs. It’s always there, easy to use. It also fits well in the the internal pocket of a jacket. Only issue is the unimpressive sound quality for listening to classical music.
I can play music/audiobooks with the controls on the right side, and if i hear a term i’m unfamiliar with, i can press a button on the right, ask google now to define it, listen to the definition, and then it (well, android) will automatically resume playing the audiobook again. Sometimes i wear it around the house just to ask google random questions, or go around the house checking inventory, and telling google to add stuff to my shopping list. At least until google home arrives and works well, it’s a great solution for that kind of google-now stuff. Might be better with google assistant. Problems:* i wish there was a way to link to to more devices, and control their priorities much better, including which devices are connected to as headphones, which as headphones + mic, which as just mic. It would be great to use the mic around the house with chromecast audio as the speakers, and in the car with the car as the speakers, and then have it connect to my firetv at night to listen to a movie without waking the neighbors. But, even though it can connect to multiple devices, it’s such an awkward, arbitrary, and limited process that i don’t even bother now.
Bought these for my husband’s birthday – he is blind and very much interested in accessible and assistive technology. I wanted something that he could use with his computer and, unlike traditional wired earphones, wouldn’t limit his mobility when he works from home. I looked at a number of different headsets and liked the bluetooth connectivity and retractable ear buds feature (husband is careful when handling his tech, so he shouldn’t have any problems with the mechanism that retracts the earbud cord). The fact that it has audible prompts was a bonus as well. After having used it right out the box, he had this to say about them: “the headset is very easy to use, works with laptops as well as phones, provides spoken feedback on battery and connection status, and provides good sound quality. The fact that the headset has a power switch rather than a button means that you can always tell when it is powered on or off, even if you can’t see.
These refurbished original lg headphones performed well, as expected, with the exception of the wire-retracting mechanism. It was “tired” and slow, for both wires, showing signs of unexpected wear. For most times, the left wire wouldn’t wind up completely without “coaxing”, leaving about 1 inch of slack. The bass frequency response and the bluetooth range is better on these original lgs, in comparison with one pair of exceptionally well made and 4 times less expensive generic hbs-900 that has the overall finish quality equal to the genuine item. Generally though, my impression is that ease of operation of the lg bluetooth headsets from hbs-750 onwards got worse in subsequent lg models like this hbs-900, in favour of “smarter” looks, due to the buttons having been moved from the top to the sides, being replaced from the pressing-switches to smaller sliding-switches, thus becoming significantly less user-friendly.
Features of LG HBS 900 Tone Infinim Premium Bluetooth Stereo Headset with Retractable Wire Management – Silver
- LG Tone Infinim
Signature Harmon Kardon sound
I used to have a sony sbh-80 which was lost, and i chose this lg headset because it has separate media controls (forwards/back + play/pause) and volume controls. I like the retractable cords + earbuds, and it all still works after two months, but i am very careful. The sound quality is very good if you have bluetooth with apt-x codec, i had it on my sony xperia z ultra, and have it on my lg v20. You do need to make sure the rubber grommets are a good fit to get reasonable bass. The frequency response does roll off a bit so you need mild correction just to lift the bass slightly, if you like a neutral frequency response. The volume goes plenty loud enough, i can wear it in a busy city and still listen to podcasts – again, a good fit on the grommets is needed to block out external sound. Charging using microusb is fairly quick, there’s a simple flap to cover the port, it faces your neck on the left.
I pair this device with my iphone 6 plus, and it connects immediately, and sounds amazing, taking calls is very easy too, especially when your on the road a lot, like me. It is however a shame that i cannot fully utilise its full extent of features, as that could only happen with an lg phone. I’m also concerned about the long term of the headphones as they have very thin wiring, so i worry that pulling it out regularly could cause damage to this expensive tech a lot quicker. Other than that, i am enjoying this product a lot.
The sound quality is crystal clear and definitely measures up to harman kardon standards. My quibble is only with the noticeable lack of bass in this beautiful headset. . And perhaps the missing nose cancellation feature. But am delighted on the whole with this buy.

I got this earphones for free when i bought the lg g4, the headphones are light, long battery and quite comfortable, but the sound quality is not the best.
I had this for just over a year only used it for sometime about 2 month now i realised it’s not turning on when i tried to turn it on even though it’s says fully charged. If it does comes on it keep cutting out saying it’s switch off and switch on not sure what’s happening and i have no idea who to contact about it. Very disappointed cause i like its very comfortable.
Not as good as previous models. I had one of the original models which was smaller and less visible. The retracting earpiece wires are a bit of a gimmick and i leave them out rather than risk the wear and tear of extending and retracting the wires. The volume and fwd/rew buttons are not very easy to operate. Sound and general operation are good.
Retractable earbuds with wire management
The product is basically good but has some drawbacks. I will make some points other reviewers seem to have missed. The mic is located to the far left of your head. If you twist your head to get your mouth closeto the mic the left earbud is pulled out of your ear. If you set the device on full power (volume)electrical cross talk is generated. However you can get along just fine using 50% volume. On rare occasions the headset losses connection.
Neat and convenient, though i haven’t worked out how to ue all the buttons yet without taking the thing from round my neck and putting my glasses on. Nice sound and its unobtrusive.
Ok but i preferred my old 700’sback in 2012 i bought the hbs 700 model. For me they were perfect and stood up to all my use and abuse until last month when they died so i replaced them with the hbs 900. So far i’ve had no technical issues, they easily paired with my old iphone 5s, my samsung note and my huawei. The controls are easy to find and use and i like having an idea about battery life when i turn them on. Sound wise i would say they are a bit tinny and even with a good seal they do not block out much external noise. Compared to my previous 700’s i find the design clunky and noticeably heavier and more rigid. I have not used them in the gym as yet but suspect they will bounce around a bit more although their increased rigidity should stop them sliding off my neck. Many people love the retracting earbud design, personally i don’t feel it is necessary and the thinness of the wires concerns me. Also the left one is already a bit reluctant to retract and if it stops working it’s going to be a pain. The length of the wires could be a bit longer as i do find sometimes they pull when turning my head.
Stylish design with classy metallic finish
Automatically connect to my mobile on switching on which is an easy to use sliding switch on the right hand side. Quality of the music is up there with the best headphones. All the switches are easy to use and immediate with no delay.
I first noticed a previous version of the lg infinim range on my colleague. As he is a serious audiophile, lives and breathes music plus is seriously seriously technical i took it as read that they were decent. Sadly i didn’t plan ahead and instead bought an expensive pair of wired headphones at the airport just before a long haul flight. Those cabled ones served me well but on my return to the uk my phone dropped from my pocket and the headphone connection must have broken somewhere inside the cable. I have yet to do a post mortem and possibly revive them. This was the push i needed to do away with cables and order the newer version of the lg infinim which i was happy to discover now had retractable cables. 2 weeks in and i am delighted with them. The sound is good, the battery life is excellent (have yet to run out or even hear a “battery low” warning in a day’s intensive use) and their form factor means i can wear them under my shirt collar discretely (see photo) when not in use and i don’t have to fish them out of a pocket or bag when i need them, nor pack them away when finished.
5 star and , it’d help me very much charging very good 2 days or more with normal used , this item giver many option ,it’s nice.
A friend of mine recommended the previous model. I bought the latest one (900). I love it because:- it is comfortable to wear (on the neck/in ears)- the battery life lasts for a whole day of listening to the music. Every time the headset is switched on it says the battery level: high/medium/low – connected or ready to pair (pairing is very simple and easy)- i can walk to another room, the balcony etc. And the reception is always great- intuitive controls, perfect for my cycling trips, easy control without any need to look at the buttons (it tells the time as well)- a great quality of sound (however, there is not much of bass, probably to make the voice/vocal more clear in any call conversation)- a great experience of watching movies (by oneself)note that the former models’ frames were more flexible. One could fold them and put in the pocket. This one is quite rigid, yet it can remain switched off, on the neck, without me being aware of it. It is light and can also be hidden under the collar.
Easy access Jog switch
Great soundcomfortable enoughdon’t always pair too well to new phone but once paired they work flawlesslygood battery lifedon’t pack down too smallretractable cords are a great idea.
I have owned and used every weekday over 1 year period the lg hbs700, the lg hbs800 and now the lg hbs900. In my opinion, the 700 was revolutionary, the 800 a major disappointment, and the 900 fantastic, perfect, rather good. The stiff plastic frame is no problem – i wear it under my shirt and it is very comfortable. The sound is very good indeed – noticeably better than the previous versions, and what is best of all are the wires connecting the earpieces. The fact they are very thin makes them delicate of course, and only time will tell if they are roubust enough, however their thinness makes it appear there is no wire. The wire does not touch my face (that i can feel), and most importantly there is no noise of the wire shaking or brushing against fabric. Again, it is as if there is no wire. For discrete, comfortable and high quality listening – after a lifetime of trying many, many different products from the most expensive to the most affordable, i can only recommend this headset.
Great service and great headphones battery life is good and sound is excellent no longer catching cables on things and breaking my headphones would recommend to others.
I have owned nearly every model of lg hbs xxx headphones and these overall are the best yet. The plus points over models such as the hbs 730 are:retractable ear bud wire management. Does not advertise them to all and sundry as the blue flashing connected light is now hidden on the inside left. The only negative thing i can say about them is that they are not as loud as the previous models but is still adequate if you choose the ear bud size that gives the best seal. In a previous review of mine on a different model i marked them down because the controls did not all work on my samsung smartphone using poweramp to play music. Since then i have bought a google nexus 5 and running poweramp all controls work as advertised. So it must have been a software/operating system issue and not the fault of the headphones. Some reviews available online complain that they lose pairing even if they are just in your jeans. This can happen but once again it is not the headphones that are at fault.
Great sound quality and they fit very comfortably around the neck – so much so that i have hardly taken them off since i bought them . No more tangled wires or scrabbling in your pocket trying to find a pair of headphones. Battery life seems good as well: at least a week – but you are advised of the battery state at each switch on which is useful.
One earbud stopped working just 2 months before 2 years time. I would expect little bit longer lifetime for the price i paid at the time (£60).
