Great laptop, i’m happy with this purchase. I use for work and also have a lenova desktop.
A great laptop for cooking, internet browsing, and doing rough sketches. . An excellent laptop for the price. It performs well for most tasks, but i wouldn’t use it for newer games. I have played games like skyrim on the lowest settings and have found the experience fine, but i’m not much of a gamer. The reason i settled on this laptop was that i wanted a laptop that could run linux, and could double as a scratch pad to take hand-drawn diagrams and notes as well as typing like a traditional laptop. For those tasks, this laptop really works well. The good:* dual-booting ubuntu linux seems to work out of the box without a problem, but definitely make a back up of windows first. Ubuntu has a small problem with changing to tablet mode, but i’m not really bothered about that* upgrade to windows 10 worked fine. No problems* making quick drawings and sketches for my needs (work meetings, sketches for my novels, etc) is excellent, and i feel that this laptop completely met my expectations* using it in stand-mode to show recipes while cooking in the kitchen has become an unexpected pleasure* it’s quiet. After traditionally having noisy power-laptops, this laptop is amazingly quiet.
Fantastic power for a budget machine. . Very good laptop for many different purposes. I bought this to go to uni with. I’m going to be using this as my secondary machine for the train and portability so i didn’t require it to be very powerful. It can run adobe photoshop and premiere pro surprisingly well. I haven’t had any crashes or bad response times using either. One thing i will say is that this laptop comes with a lot of bloatware. -_- you will need to go through and uninstall this and then create a new restore point from there otherwise if you ever do a system restore, it will just bring all of that bloatware back. It can be quite slow on initial boot, with the disk drive maxing out at 95%-100%, but this quickly dies down after about 5 minutes. This will most likely be due to avast bootup scan and other startup processes.
Lenovo YOGA 500 14-Inch FHD Convertible Laptop (White) – (Intel Core-i3, 4 GB RAM, 1 TB Storage, Intel HD Graphics Card, Windows 10) : Awesome netbook/laptop would be 5 stars except for the trackpad – its a little vague, slow to respond to the left/right click buttons and very springy within the deck of the laptop. All solved with a wireless mouse though. Love the way it converts from laptop to tablet, screen and sound are excellent. No problems with the touch screen works in all options. Ensure you get the i-core processor version. Finally don’t be put of by it being a 14 inch laptop and not a 15. 6 inch (which you can get in yoga) as this is perfect if you travel alot due to lightweight and relitivly thin. Like the fact its white too. Good: processor, screen, sound, versatility, size and weight.
