Lenovo Yoga 2 Pro 13 : Great overall product

The best mobile device i’ve owned. . I worked as an it pro for 16 years before becoming a university lecturer. This is the best mobile device i have ever owned/used and i have experience with many. The device is light and yet robust. It feels like a good quality product. The screen resolution is outstanding, although some software doesn’t suit the new format but this is a minor issue. The trademark hinge is very useful for me as i like to switch between laptop mode and tablet mode. The boot up speed is amazing at 4 seconds (from a cold boot). Also, it resumes from sleep mode in a second.

Nice fast convertible touchscreen laptop. I tend to have it in ‘stand’ mode on the bedside as it means i can read the screen without having my glasses on. Only issue i had was that my bluetooth mouse kept disconnecting, but that was sorted by setting the bluetooth to stop trying to save power (which it did by turning itself off, which disabled the mouse. )edit: i did also have problems with the wi-fi. This appears to be because the default wi-fi sold with the yoga 2 is single-band (2. 11n, and the intel driver has problems if you’re in an area with lots of nearby wi-fi connections, which i found out when travelling, where pings were really slow on the wi-fi connection for no good reason. I fixed it by replacing the default wi-fi card with the dual-band (2. 11ac one – that i also bought from amazon. (hint – update the wi-fi driver first from the intel website). Ngwwb dual band wireless-ac 7260 – network adapter – pci express m. 0 le – (networks wireless adapters)obviously, this will only work if you are connecting to a dual-band router. It’s a relatively painless replacement (if you have the t5 screwdriver for the screws on the bottom of the case and a small philips screwdriver for the screw holding the wi-fi card in place). Only hassle was re-attaching the antenna cables onto the new card with my stubby fingers, which took a lot longer than it should have done. I then had to remove the bluetooth driver and let it reinstall to get the mouse working again (and turn off the power save option again).

  • Enter your model number
    to make sure this fits.
  • Ideal accuracy and ease-of-use with the 10-point multitouch display, optimised for Windows 8.1 Pro
  • Thinner and lighter than the previous generation
  • Speak to your PC to execute simple commands with Lenovo Voice Control
  • Backlit AccuType keyboard with individual rounded keys for comfortable and accurate typing even in the dark
  • Up to nine hours battery life to stay connected

Flexible and lightweight – beware the screen resolution. I wanted a top of the range laptop for business use. I’m sick of carting round 3kg+ laptops and wanted something lighter and more versatile. It’s definitely lightweight and also very versatile. In my home office, i have it positioned to just show the screen, standing up, and i use a keyboard and mouse and large monitor as an extended (in fact, main) display: not something i could do so well without the ability to bend the screen over. When using the screen itself, i initially had a lot of difficulty with the resolution. Its recommendation is a really high 3200 x 1800. However, like that the text is too small to be properly readable and it is not a realistic setting for text-based work (perhaps it is very good for gaming, which i do not do). I have found that it is fine if i use a resolution of 2048×1152, and then set the text size (control panel/appearance and personalisation) rather higher than the default. The quality of the screen is extremely good.

Great laptop and how i fixed the mustard yellow. Hi guys,i just received mine today and have been glued to it for about 5 hours now. I love it although it has had the effect of ruining my 24 inch 1080p touchscreen monitor for me. I notice the much lower dpi so much now. The instructions on lenovo’s website suggest you update the bios and then the energy management software. So i went ahead and started updating the bios only to get a message that i’m already running the latest bios. The yellows were pretty mustardy so i decided on the off chance to check that the energy management hadn’t been updated, both have the same release date so you wouldn’t think it’d be unreasonable to assume they’d installed both. What do you know, the energy management hadn’t been done. Anyway the yellow is ‘fixed’ now to the extend that they are yellows rather than a greeny yellow. They certainly aren’t as vibrant as my other monitor, but not a mile off. Regarding the wifi so far it’s been strong and consistent. Too early to know for sure, but it seems a lot of the issues people are having aren’t affecting everyone. Hope this helps anyone with similar concerns to mine.

Reviews from purchasers :

  • Superb laptop – BUT.
  • this is easily the best experience I’ve ever had after buying a
  • Amazing Ultrabook

I researched my next choice of laptop for some time. The yoga 2 fit a nice place, balancing price and features. Yes the 4 different positions are compelling but i foresee i will be using it in laptop mode most of the time. The keyboard has a more rubbery feel than most other laptops but i can get used to this. The backlighting of the keys offsets this minor gripe. The touchscreen and responsiveness of the ssds make this a very user friendly device. My major gripe is the lack of support for 5g wifi, most noticeable when trying to download os images. Also the lack of a rj45 ethernet port. Not a deal breaker but something to be aware of.

This is easily the best experience i’ve ever had after buying a. Well – i’ll update this of course as i get more experience, but i thought i’d report on my half day with my new lenovo yoga 2 pro. I thought some readers might wonder at the ease or otherwise of buying a new laptop or pc. You can see that i’ve given it 5 stars; and quite rightly: this is easily the best experience i’ve ever had after buying a new piece of computer equipment. I would at this point – if i could – give it 10 stars. Set up was very quick indeed – the slowest aspect was updating windows 8. My first step was to download “start8” which is a cheap little program that restores the “windows 7” to windows 8 and means i can use the desktop as if this was windows 7, but with all the advantages of windows 8. I am just a bit old fashioned and prefer the windows 7 more traditional menu system.

Excellent dual purpose portable laptop/tablet – some reliability issues. Conveniently slim portable laptop, very fast compared to my previous netbook. Well made and beautifully finished, the dual function is every bit as useful as i expected it to be. I have had a problem with the wi-fi dropping out randomly, my other laptop and my mobile connect perfectly well but the yoga 2 pro sometimes refuses, although it shows a strong signal. Will take it up with the manufacturers.

Good form factor, but a killer screen resolution. To use properly you do need to know the screen resolution down a bit. Main failing is that it runs windows (kinda obvious) and windows is a little bit of a pain compared to mac and linux.

I thought it would be hard to replace my mac book pro. Insane resolution and great ergonomics. Battery life has worked well so far too.

A marvellous convertible laptop, fast and easy to use, and very powerful for it’s size, even though i am new to windows 8. 1 i have found it to be fantastic, and for the quality of this item i have given top marks. I have however received an au model with no uk power adapter, so have given the seller a much lower mark, as i have sent them a message but received no response, but feel that as this is about the machine i have no problems with it apart from the keyboard being a different layout for australia i presume, and am able to use it with no problems even though i am 65 years old, and my spare nikon lead fits the mains adapter nicely.

Exellence in motion – impressed by yoga pro 2. Used toshiba’s, dell’s and various others but i have to admit that this product top’s them all. The finish and looks of the product are phenomenal and having it used now for 4 days has convinced me that this product is definitely the one i would recommend to my friends. I intend to use this product to attend meetings throughout europe, usa and asia as my main laptop replacement. So far no major issues although having worked with w8 in the past it takes some time to get used to it but in general no complaints. The delivery from amazon was awesome ahead of time by 24 hours. The original lenovo box this product is shipped in is looking so slick that at once you know that you have purchased a quality piece of equipment. The various position one can use this product into (360 degree screen rotation) is really a very helpful feature in todays business environment. Used several gadgets to use the writing on screen experience in the “windows journal” app that is in the apps loaded on this equipment and works great for taking notes. Love the illuminated key board.

Haven’t had a laptop for a few years – this fits all my laptop/computing/tablet needs in one – and this spec beats any other machine at the same price.

Lenovo yoga 2pro 13. 3 inch. . This has been brilliant, taken me a bit of time to get used to win 8. 1 but the yoga does everything it says it can, with ease, the solid state drive boots up very quickly wich is a great advantage for when i am working, i haven’t found any downside to this great little machine yet,.

First the cons: slightly heavier than expected. Native resolution so fine that screen unreadable in default setting (a well documented issue). Worth spending time adjusting display parameters to address this. The pros: fast, versatile device. The yoga is a great laptop; robust, reliable and pleasant to use. Keyboard is comfortable with a nice feel and decent travel. As a laptop alone, it’s well worth considering, as price-competitive compared to sony and toshiba. The infinitely adjustable screen angle and tablet functionality are bonuses.
