Great value for money, only downside is the non hd screen.

I uninstalled all the cr*p which comes. I uninstalled all the cr*p which comes with this model, and replaced the hdd with a samsung ssd drive (£70 gbp), so it would boot really quickly and use less battery power. I really like the computer, but given four stars due to the bloatware/spyware installed with the computer and low battery life. However it’s great value hardware, meaning you can afford the ssd upgrade and time to uninstall bloatware.

Most powerful laptop i’ve ever had. Use this product for programming as a hobby and playing games. It will play most games without issue but obviously not set to max settings as it doesnt have a dedicated graphics card. The processor being an i7 doesnt struggle with anything thrown at it. 8gb ram is more than enough even when programming and multitasking at the same time. 1tb hard drive is very nippy and again more than large enough especially as there is less need to store files locally these days.

To pick up on a point from another reviewer about the speed of the i7 chip arguably being slower than an i5, the latest 5th generation chips main improvement on the 4th gen is energy efficiency, arguably at the expense of a small amount of processing power. Whilst i haven’t looked at the benchmarking yet, i should imagine the difference is negligible whilst any i7 will be superior to an i5. Ultimately to get this laptop for £399 on amazon prime day when the chip alone is £200-250 is a great deal. The other specs are very good, 8gb ram (there are 2 available slots inside with 1 slot taken up by an 8gb slot leaving it easily expandable if desired) & 1tb hdd although i decided to invest in an ssd to replace it. The overall build quality is decent enough, but the deal here is for the guts. You can easily improve peripherals such as the keyboard etc, but if you want it all it will cost a lot more than £400. The keypad isn’t great & i do find the touchpad buttons quite awkward, though i indulged myself a little & have bought an apple keyboard & touchpad (for home & work use) to negate these albeit very minor issues. Overall this laptop at £399 has fabulous specs. You’re normally looking around £500+ for i7 & 8gb ram.

A great computer at a reasonable price. A great computer at a reasonable price. I bought it for £400 at amazon prime sale and really love it. It’s bigger than my old dell inspiron but much lighter. I got the red one and the color is nice. Contrary to other reviews, i find the touchpad is ok, sensitive but not too sensitive. But i don’t like the keypad, it feels very plastic and shaky when i type. I agree with other reviewers that most of the pre-installed softwares need to go, but the one key optimizing and one key recovery is very handy software worth keeping. The speaker is good, but the microphone is probably located on one side. When i called using skype, i was told my sound went up and down if my head moved from one side to the other.

Bought this laptop to replace an aging under-powered netbook. Plus points: plenty of memory, apps load fast, plenty of ports. Minus points: high price, poor battery life, lenovo software interference, very plastic’y “made in china” look & feel, “unfriendly” keyboard with “iffy” space bar, built-in mouse can take on a life of its own from time to time (but rectified by hitting the escape button), quite heavy.

Now a lot of you may notice that there are complaints about faults with these lenovo laptops. What i would say is that, if you know a thing or two about technology, then any problems you face can be solved with a little pain. For example, i didn’t update my laptop and kept delaying it and as a result it gave me a lot of problems. It has been a year since my purchase and this is a lot of laptop for this price. What i love about the product is the texture of the mouse and externally it is a nice looking laptop, not heavy for a 15. And speed wise never gives me any problems, i can turn it on within seconds and get straight at it.

A good choice for university. It came with a ton of pre-installed stuff so it took me a while to delete all of them. As long as you delete mcafee and edit programs which run on startup, it runs surprisingly fast and has a good battery life. On the negative side, the keyboard can be a bit ‘sticky’ – sometimes touch typing doesn’t register very well – and the mousepad is average, though i use a wireless mouse. In terms of games it runs games like hearthstone and the old thief games fine. It even runs fallout nv quite well, and can just about run skyrim (for both of these games i recommend performance mods). It struggles a bit with 1080p youtube but because of the screen size 720p is fine.

It looks superb and design for the prize is nice. Well it is plastic but looks ok. Well, i upgraded it straight a way as i received it. Added +8 gb of ram and changed dhh to ssd also i put win10 in it. Surprisingly it is quiet, fan comes on really rarely, almost never. Sound is ok, nothing special. I have red one, it looks superb and design for the prize is nice. Well it is plastic but looks ok. Screen in not full hd, but i don’t see any “squares or dots”. Also it has dvd, this is what i need. Down side is keyboard for me. Maybe it is me, not the laptop because i used to use tablet at home for last few yeaars and pc keyboard at work, but on fast writing sometimes looks like keys does not do the job as i expecting and some of layout is uncomfortable to use, arrow keys are to close to others keys so you cant feel it not looking at it, also function buttons (f1;f2;f3. ) works just with additional function button (fn) uncomfortable if you use function buttons a lot. Mouse pad is also not the best ones, buttons of mouse pad is hard to press and mouse pad sometimes does not work when you want double click on it, so i bought external mouse straight away.

Great product although the hard drive is a little sluggish. . I bought this for my wife for her birthday to which it was very well received. The screen is bright and good quality and the laptop is lightweight, thin and portable. The only niggles we had were all of the bloatware (un-necessary software) lenovo installed out of the box. We did a fresh install of windows 10 because there was just way too much lenovo software to uninstall. The second niggle is that the hard drive is slow and poor performing. We have since replaced with a ssd solid and this has made a world of difference. If you’re going to purchase this laptop, i would recommend you buy a ssd hard drive to replace the existing one to get the most out of the i7 processor. On the whole, i would certainly recommend this for the price.

As hardware, the laptop is fine. My problem is with the software. The laptop came with windows 8. Having used windows 7, and not wishing to learn how to use windows 8, i straightway downloaded windows 10. Clicking on the mail box in the start menu, and completing all the settings, the mail simply says “not synced yet”. No help or remedy is offered. I have trawled the web for a solution, followed some promising suggestions, read a lot of incomprehensible geek talk, and mostly comments from similarly frustrated users. To use my yahoo e-mail, i have to use the yahoo web site, with all its frustrating features and irritating adverts.

Great laptop that has kept up with my demands, definitely better than my last laptop which slowed down within a few months and kept crashing.
