Great value for money, only downside is the non hd screen.
I uninstalled all the cr*p which comes. I uninstalled all the cr*p which comes with this model, and replaced the hdd with a samsung ssd drive (£70 gbp), so it would boot really quickly and use less battery power. I really like the computer, but given four stars due to the bloatware/spyware installed with the computer and low battery life. However it’s great value hardware, meaning you can afford the ssd upgrade and time to uninstall bloatware.

Most powerful laptop i’ve ever had. Use this product for programming as a hobby and playing games. It will play most games without issue but obviously not set to max settings as it doesnt have a dedicated graphics card. The processor being an i7 doesnt struggle with anything thrown at it. 8gb ram is more than enough even when programming and multitasking at the same time. 1tb hard drive is very nippy and again more than large enough especially as there is less need to store files locally these days.
To pick up on a point from another reviewer about the speed of the i7 chip arguably being slower than an i5, the latest 5th generation chips main improvement on the 4th gen is energy efficiency, arguably at the expense of a small amount of processing power. Whilst i haven’t looked at the benchmarking yet, i should imagine the difference is negligible whilst any i7 will be superior to an i5. Ultimately to get this laptop for £399 on amazon prime day when the chip alone is £200-250 is a great deal. The other specs are very good, 8gb ram (there are 2 available slots inside with 1 slot taken up by an 8gb slot leaving it easily expandable if desired) & 1tb hdd although i decided to invest in an ssd to replace it. The overall build quality is decent enough, but the deal here is for the guts. You can easily improve peripherals such as the keyboard etc, but if you want it all it will cost a lot more than £400. The keypad isn’t great & i do find the touchpad buttons quite awkward, though i indulged myself a little & have bought an apple keyboard & touchpad (for home & work use) to negate these albeit very minor issues. Overall this laptop at £399 has fabulous specs. You’re normally looking around £500+ for i7 & 8gb ram.
A great computer at a reasonable price. A great computer at a reasonable price. I bought it for £400 at amazon prime sale and really love it. It’s bigger than my old dell inspiron but much lighter. I got the red one and the color is nice. Contrary to other reviews, i find the touchpad is ok, sensitive but not too sensitive. But i don’t like the keypad, it feels very plastic and shaky when i type. I agree with other reviewers that most of the pre-installed softwares need to go, but the one key optimizing and one key recovery is very handy software worth keeping. The speaker is good, but the microphone is probably located on one side. When i called using skype, i was told my sound went up and down if my head moved from one side to the other.
