I purchased these based on the reviews just below this one. I needed new ones as my old pair no longer kept the sound in, everyone could hear my music in the room. I chose these as the enhanced bass was useful to me and the detail in the previous posts made me believe they would suit my needs. On plugging in they initially seemed too bassy, but after a little while the mid-range became more audible and the overall sound was more bottom-end than i would normally like, but the sound was good. When watching youtube videos with dubious audio quality (live footage in pubs etc) this additional bass helped (i listen to a lot of music through the laptop) and with a few eq adjustments i was able to tailor the performance of the headphones to suit my taste. The fit was tight (which kept my noise in) and i found them comfortable and well worth the money. They do enhance the bass though more than any other headphones i have had, just remember that.
My husband borrowed a friend’s beats, and was very impressed with the quality of sound (but not the price). He believes that the sound quality of the jvc xx’s are at least equal to that of the beats. The bass is fantastic, excellent volume, and the clarity of sound with classical music is superb, and all for £20believe me when i say my husband believes that you can’t go wrong for the price.

Brilliant, compared these to the sonys most my mates have, for the same price these are excellent, deep bass and although they have ali of sound leakage, the sound is too good to care. Robust aswell, i snowboard wearing them and they can take hits. I’m not saying no helmet is good though :pvery happy.
I nearly bought a pair of those dr dre headphones, and a friend recommended to me a pair of i cant remember the name, but they too were over a hundred pounds, professional headphones. I don’t need professional headphones and i’m not anywhere near as involved in the fine tweaking of my sounds as some of the people who have reviewed these. But i do appreciate good sound and a good purchase. For me, spending less than 25 quid on a pair of headphones that sound as good as i want them to is money well spent. Comfort wise i think they could be just a little better, but that’s really nit-picking. I’m so glad i read the reviews and in doing so saved myself over a hundred pounds by opting for these. I would certainly consider buying again if necessary and certainly recommend them.
Jvc has4x xtreme xplosives on ear headphone. Bought these in dec 2012 after seeing ebay offer for sony mdrzx300r fashionable monitor style headphones – black for £20. Looked around for better prices & found same on amazon for £15 but a friend had similar one(sony mdrxb300 extra bass) & it leaked sound past half volume + i’ve had many sony headphones over time. I had been looking awhile, here & there & once in while for on/over ear headphones & suddenly wanted a pair & since my sony dj ones broke in 2008, had been using only in ear headphones but the deciding factor after listening to the in ear jvc xplosive which a cousin had, i got the on ear versions. They were quite tight upon first few times using but after few times it loosens & can be worn for longer periods. They do stand out while wearing them but i brought them for bass & sound isolation, which it does both perfectly. The bass is excellent & if u fiddle with sound/equaliser settings u can get even more bass while overall quality remains unaffected. As for sound leakage there is none unless volume is at more than 90%. I’ve tested with various genres(dance, trance, rock, pop) while sitting next to someone in a quite room & are unable to hear anything, & u can barely hear them. I’ve used on phones(iphone 4s, samsung s2, htc desire, sony xperia ray, nokia n8- 5310- e72- c3) mp3 players(sony nw-e507 -50 hour battery, creative muvo, samsungyp u2), tv(sony + toshiba) and laptops(acer aspire + samsung rv510) & sound quality is very good on all devices.
JVC HAS4X Xtreme Xplosives On Ear Headphone : They are good quality for money, but i will say the picture is a little deceiving, they are much smaller than they look in the picture.
