A very good quality folding bed, tucks away into a small amount of room and so practicle and handy when that extra quest needs to sleep over for a couple of days.
Well worth the price, comfortable. I have another jay-be folding bed with a thin pocket sprung mattress and wooden slatted base which to be honest wasn’t the best buy. It felt unstable and after a couple nights was really uncomfortable. That type of folding bed is for occasional use and in my opinion was even any good for that. I needed a good quality folding bed with a better build and comfortable. I wasn’t keen on buying from jay-be again but after searching on the internet for what seemed far too long i realised that jay-be was probably my only real option. This crown bed is for contract use which meets a different level of standard – hence the price. I spent ages looking at reviews and pictures, the thicker mattress looked good but was worried it might be permanently buckled in the middle from the folding. Eventually i bought it and what a buy, so happy i took the plunge.
I sleep on this every night. My experience of sofabeds is that they give you a poor or fitful nights rest as the mattress is so thin, but this mattress is full depth pocketed springs (18cm/7in) deep and feels just like a normal bed. I have slept on this every night for several months and wake refreshed. The mattress is a bit narrower than a normal bed, but perfectly ok. It’s quite heavy, so on arrival, i cut the cardboard box away from it and rolled it out. Assembly is easy – three bolts to fit the headboard with the supplied hex key. When you lower the head end and then the foot end, legs extend beyond the castors to lock it in place, so move the bed where you want it first. The mattress seems quite happy being bent and straightened repeatedly, and appears symmetrical, so you can turn it over or top to bottom to even its wear over time.
The most comfortable folding bed. Not cheap but still a sensible price for a very solidly made frame with a proper sprung base and comfortable mattress. The bed comes with a simple slip-on cloth cover which goes over it when in the folded position and the headboard makes a useful surface, rather like a tall table, so if the folded bed is stored in the corner of a room you can still make use of it to stand things on. I have two of these beds and the second one arrived with a distorted frame so it would not stand up properly when folded and the castors did not function as they should. I telephoned jay-be customer services directly and got ready for an argument but instead they were absolutely delightful and helpful to deal with. As there was nothing wrong with the mattress they arranged for a replacement frame to be sent by courier and for the faulty one to be collected. So well done jay-be, a good product and excellent customer services. Incidentally, i weigh over 20 stone and 6ft tall but having given up my own bed for a couple of nights when we had guests i found this folding jay-be bed very comfortable, not like the blow up mattress alternative which was horrendousi did look at the other, cheaper, folding beds in the jay-be range but they were much lighter and nothing like as well made and strong as this one. This is a “proper” bed with a “proper” mattress.
Jay-be crown premier folding single bed. This is a brilliant bed it comfortable it is just like a single bed and it’s easy to put up and to put away, also easy to store and the cover can make it very discreet when not in use.

- the mattress in the picture does not look like mine nice and deep and fitting on your picture
Certainly more durable than some of the other offerings, this ones not too bad, after some use, the ends wont stay perfectly upright and bend out a little, could just be the mattress pushing it ofc, i find using a bungee to hold them tighter/closed helps wonders esp when fitting the cover.
