Igenix IG8710 Food Processor – Good value for money.

Full-size Food Processors

A handy tool that is made to a price, but works fine. This is an inexpensive processor and that shows to some degree in the quality of plastics used throughout and the overall finish. The reality is you are getting what you pay for and what you get is likely good enough for most people. My own experience of food processors is they get some use but rarely heavy. Partly this is because when you factor in getting it ready to use and then cleaning it can be easier and quicker to just do stuff with a knife and chopping board. However, heavy users say for a dinner party, will find the speed of the processor a bonus and the quantities make the washing up worthwhile. The processor works well but it is a tad noisy. This isn’t unexpected and actually par for the course at this price range. All the tools work fine too. I had no complaints with anything on or in this machine.

Nice food processor / blender combo. This is a great food processor that would be a 5 star product for me if it was easier to clean. I love a good kitchen gadget – even if it’s one of the more essential ones like this. The nice thing about this kit is the fact it comes with everything you could need including different blades and food processor and separate blender attachments. The actual device works well, the motor has enough power to do the job it is designed to do and the capacity of both the blending and processing sections is sufficient. I found that this was a little hard to clean though, it hasn’t been as well thought out as some competitors but it’s still a very usable kit.

  • This is a good, basic food processor
  • Reasonably inexpensive but not the best food processor by a long way
  • Basic function, budget blending unit, lacking in extras and low build quality.

This is a full-size food processor with a processing bowl of a 2 l capacity and a blender jug has a capacity of 1800ml both the blender jug and mixing bowl are plastic not glass. It comes with full instructions. Setting-wise, the dial has two settings plus pulse. The wattage on the bottom is marked at 700 w. This is a nice sturdy machine. The base is labelled as 500 w. It is supplied with a stainless steel mixing blade and a plastic blade. That’s the most useful function of this food processor.

Nice and powerful food processor. This is a nice food processor. The igenix ig8710 food processor has a 500 w power motor, two speed with pulse, 2 l processing bowl with 1. 2 l rated,it has a stainless steel chopping blade in matt grey with a sandblast finish housing. It sits lovely on the worktop. With its powerful 500w motor it will do all jobs required.

  • Easily carried and installed
  • Great design for your Kitchen and Home
  • Easy to Clean and easy storage

Lots of tools, multi purpose, however quite big. Mixed feelings about this igenix ig8710, it could be so much better than it is. The first thing you notice is the vast amount of tools you get with the food processor, grater, chopper etc. The food processor doubles up as a juicer as well which is great. There are two speeds, which seem to be enough for the level i use it had. The downside is the size, it feels quite bulky and storing all the additional kit does take up some cupboard space. Also the build quality is not the greatest, but then depending on what price it is i wouldn’t expect much better. Performance wise it does what i wanted it to do. If its for the sale at the discounted price then its not bad value, however at the high price you could probably pick up a branded and more premium processor.

Igenix ig8710 food processor, 500 watt. This is a smart looking food processor finished in matt grey that will look at home in any modern kitchen. The main power unit has a rating of 500 watts with 2 speeds and a pulse (for breaking down solids prior to liquidising). The motor power is ok but i feel a tadge under powered. At the higher speeds it is quite noisy and a more powerful motor would allow the unit to be effective at lower speeds. Thankfully it has four strong sucker feet that stop it from “wandering”. The main bowl has a capacity of 2 litres but is made of quite a thin plastic. It is ok and will do the jobs but feels cheapish and does not look like it will last long unless treated with care. The package includes the usual cutting and chopping discs and the enclosed booklet tells you how each is to be assembled.

Igenix seem to be rapidly moving into the territory that’s been occupied by the likes of morphy richards, russell hobbs, phillips and the like, for many years. I’ve tried a few of their products recently and in general they seem to be ok and worthy of consideration, though in general i feel they are a little cheaply made. I was surprised to find the product quite dusty when i came to unpack it. It looked like fibres from the cardboard protective packaging, but the plastic bags that wrap each item individually are open ended and i guess that’s how the dust got in. I know food items always need a wash before use anyway, but i’ve never before opened a product that looked like it needed a rinse. In the box is a pile of bits and pieces, but the main ones are the motor unit, blender jug, and main bowl. Along with these comes a set of various blades and the other bits that turn this heap of plastic and metal into a helpful kitchen accessory. One thing i hadn’t seen before on a food processor is a citrus juicing attachment, which is pretty much a motorised version the little tupperware thing i’ve had in my cupboard for years. This comes in handy if you have a lot of oranges/lemons to juice rather than just one or two.

This is a good food processor with multi functionality. It has done everything i have asked of it – chopping and blending. It has a range of accessories which meet every need. It is not large but that suits me as i am on my own. It may struggle with a large family. It has two speeds and i have found these to be adequate. It is lightweight which again i like but still does the job.

Reasonably inexpensive but not the best food processor by a long way. Given the price point, the aesthetics of this food processor are reasonably good. The base is made from a matt grey plastic which, although it doesn’t look like a premium appliance, would still look reasonably good on any worktop. The rest of the parts are either made from clear or black plastic, with several metal cutting disks. This particular food processor claims to be able to do 8 different functions, albeit, this is likely to be slightly misleading, given that some of them are very similar and only require different cutting disks. For completeness, the 8 modes are as follows:1. Blendingboth the blending jug and the chopping bowl are marked with volume levels, which is very useful and oddly, is not something which all food processors have, so this is a very useful feature. However, less useful are the practicalities and usability of this food processor.

I like this food processor and it does the job. The only reason i gave it 4 stars instead of 5 was that it looked a bit cheaper than i would have expected for the cost had i been buying it – maybe it’s the matte look, i’m not sure. It chopped really well and i could have it like it was grating as well. The two settings were powerful enough for what i’ve made (mainly ingredients for soup) and the pulse action is there for the liquids when i’ve not got a need for the faster settings. The extra parts have been put away in the cupboard for use when i need it but i’ve kept the main unit out on the worktop. The shape of the unit means it can go up against a wall but as with any equipment in the kitchen consider the space and storage it needs. The unit is secure enough for the second power setting with a full jug (again for soup). Works well, washes fine and i’m happy overall with the item. I’ve used an igenix oven before and i like the brand.

Light duty processor at a budget price. Igenix ig8710 food processor 500 wthere are many food processors now available in differing price ranges. Whereas many of the historical ones were heavy duty , made to last , the impression of this one is that it is made to a price – at the reduced price on amazon , it is fair value. Out of the box the main drive unit ( two main power settings and a pulse mode) is a charcoal grey assembly with sucker feet to grip the worktop. The unit is somewhat noisy in use. Both my wife and i checked out the unit. The enclosed booklet is good for checking that all of the components are present but was very poor in showing exactly how they all assembled together. It was good however in describing how the individual modes should be used. Apart from the steel chopper blade ( which came with protective sheaths for the blades) , the parts were relatively light duty plastic – possibly fit for relatively light duty use ( to be checked over the months)there is a two year guarantee ( registerable – as ever) onlineso , seemingly fit for purpose as a light duty processor at a budget price – 3 stars.

Basic function, budget blending unit, lacking in extras and low build quality. . This is what i would call a budget food processor and it shows in both build quality and price of the unit. I do note that this food processor has however been reduced from a much higher price and i would say that it is not worth the higher price tag, so i am glad it has been reduced to a fairer price for what you get. The unit does not have an air of quality and just seems like it has been built from the cheapest materials possible and the plastic looks and feels cheap. As for the unit itself it has a few attachments including a grating tool, a chopper and a blending jug and whilst it may not have as many attachments as some other units, it does have enough for basic purposes and uses 2 speed functions and a pulse function. The unit has an average size footprint on the worktop and is on par with other units for size and has rubber feet that help it to stay in place. The unit is quite loud when in use and i think this is where the build quality shows most, as it does not dampen the sound any. Blenders typically can be quite loud, but usually some of the sound is absorbed by the unit, but this one just sounds louder than other models i have had. I was surprised to see one reviewer make the claim that the blender has no spout on the juicer and i presume the reviewer means the jug attachment?.The jug does have a spout to aid pouring, so that claim is untrue.

Ok but not great food processor. The igenix ig8710 food processor has two speeds and comes in a stylish matte grey, which fits in with the design and style of most modern kitchens. The motor is powerful enough to deal with most fruit and vegetables, such as peppers, mushrooms, etc. But unfortunately is very noisy and not great to clean. This is definitely not a nutribullet, for example, which is far more powerful than this, however compared to a cheaper supermarket under-£20 mixer, this better. Both kenwood and magimix offer far better solutions.

Great processor with the added bonus of a blender. Really versatile for cooking, baking, blending and chopping as there are many accessories. Great that it is dishwasher safe so clashing up is a doddle. Igenix isn’t the first make you would think of for a kitchen appliance but this seems to be a good study machine with a great range of accessories to suit most of your everyday requirements.

Poor quality compared to other food processors in a similar price range. A decent food processor that does the job but the quality is poor compared to other models in a similar price range. Pros- it works – it blends and chops effectively- parts can go in the dishwasher- variety of functions – blending, chopping, gratingcons- the quality of manufacture leaves a lot to be desired – there are a number of sharp edges and imperfections on the clear plastic jugs, and there is an overall cheap feel – from the flimsy packaging to the flimsy accessories. – i have concerns about the long term reliability of the product, given the slap-dash approach to manufacture. – it is noisier than other food processors i’ve used. There are better food processors out there for around the same price – the philips hr7761/01 (currently around £60) is of far better quality, has better accessories, and looks a lot nicer too.

This is a good, basic food processor. This is a good, basic food processor, it’s not particularly attractive and rather cheaply made, but if it’s functionality you’re after, then this is fine. Rather noisy but again it’s a cheap machine. However it works absolutely fine, comes with all the attachments you might need, and so if it’s a basic machine you’re looking for and not something that looks gorgeous on the worktop, this is your machine.
