I have experienced this laptop for nearly 3 weeks now and i am incredibly pleased with it. The principal intent of my laptop purchase was for songs recording and manufacturing so i wished one thing with a substantial specification and is speedy. Getting scoured the web and numerous laptop brand names i could not obtain one more laptop that came close to the processing electric power for this cost. (£749 in march 2011)i have so considerably experienced no considerable troubles with it and have productively istalled and used my usb audio interface. Earning guaranteed i downloaded the most up to day home windows 7 compatible motorists from the audio machine suppliers. (i created positive my machine would perform with home windows 7 1st. )other reviewers have commented on the rigid or unresponsive touchpad. I tried using a number of laptops out in a store and even though it was a person of my minimum favorite touchpads at the time, that is forgotten as i have received made use of to it in no time. Good for an opposable digit function out.

A superior laptop permit down by pretty weak batter life (45 minutes on electricity saver manner). Also the touch pad is so rigid its nearly unusable how this acquired out of high quality regulate i you should not know. The electricity brick is also the major i’ve found with any laptop. Its a pity mainly because these issues provide down an normally superior laptop.

Dont hassle except you have no selection. This was my 1st i7 laptop. I grabbed it purely mainly because it seemed awesome and it would be a great small enhance. The point is, that with an i7, it ought to be a excellent performer, but its only one. 6ghz and so no, its not that strong really. If you are employing solitary core apps, then its a bad laptop to have, but if the applications are mutlicore mindful and make entire use it the extra cores, and the hyperthreading, then its a nice minimal machine for absolutely sure. The graphics are satisfactory for most works by using, its no way a gaming equipment, however, it is capable of actively playing some video games you would not have thought possible, and nonetheless fails to play games that it should be in a position to very simply, and its a pretty old equipment now, so if you invest in it for enjoying games then thats your fault. I am making use of mine purely as my key linux laptop, and i do have steam put in and the linux compatible games are all installed and up to date and i have combined bag of luck with them way too. – i utilised to be a weighty gamer, but i have really serious issues with my hands and now i restrict my game enjoying to dawn of war, wherever i only genuinely have to have to use 1 or two fingers and the rest of the video game is nearly totally mouse controled and i have had mixed outcomes in enjoying these online games also.- no way on substantial facts but extra than playable at reduce options, but i only say that in a kind of ‘ah effectively, a little bit of fun’ manner, and i dont definitely mind, because its not my most important laptop.

  • Better with Graphics update
  • A worthy investment!
  • Very poor battery life

Fantastic laptop but has a couple flaws. I decided to obtain this laptop around a macbook simply because it has two times the electrical power under the hood. I’ve been working with this laptop now for 6 months now can i experience i can give a very good overview it. Effectiveness: this laptop is astounding when it arrives to effectiveness. It can manage fairly a great deal any game on large configurations. Also i am a graphics student and observed this laptop to handle adobe suite and autodesk applications exceptionally well. Even so rendering in 3d in packages these kinds of as maya will just take a even though and zbrush is an complete no with this laptop. But general gaming, creative and multitasking this laptop is wonderful. five out of 5screen: i am not a supporter of the screen but it does do the trick. I would have most popular a 1080p screen however the monitor is quite great at the proportions.

As an avid computer system gamer and university student (portion time) i ordered this laptop to move the time when theres a wet working day. What introduced my consideration to this platform was its extraordinary sounding processor, its classy very good appears and its smaller mother nature. So, sneakily i acquired this rather dear laptop whilst my girlfriend was purchasing, once the criminal offense is fully commited there is no turning back i certain myself. Like a baby at christmas, with a skip and a hop i plunged the box on the bed and commenced to open up it. I pulled out the laptop and placed the battery pack in very easily, then plugged it into the mains. In one particular enormous swoop, i cleared the desk of papers and put the laptop in the centre, my minimal trophyexpecting the clear ‘whirrr’ to suggest it was setting up up, i double checked i experienced basically pressed the ‘on’ button. There was silence, but the velocity of installation was speedier than i had ever professional. Now, to have an understanding of the simplicity of the first setup, my girlfriend whom has no expertise with computer systems in any way felt relaxed environment it up while i did a couple odd jobs all around the home. In twenty five minutes or so, it was set up.

Dont bother unless you have no choice. This was my first i7 laptop. I grabbed it purely because it looked nice and it would be a nice little upgrade. I am using mine purely as my main linux pc, and i do have steam installed and the linux compatible games are all installed and up to date and i have mixed bag of luck with them too. – i used to be a heavy gamer, but i have serious issues with my hands and now i limit my game playing to dawn of war, where i only really need to use one or two fingers and the rest of the game is almost entirely mouse controled and i have had mixed results in playing those games too.- no way on high details but more than playable at lower settings, but i only say that in a kind of “ah well, a bit of fun” mode, and i dont really mind, because its not my main laptop.

Very good with only very minor cons. I got this laptop about 6 months ago and since then it has really shined in the amount of performance it can pump out. 6ghz, it actually goes up to 2. 8ghz under load, making it more powerful than a lot of desktops around. Additionally to this, the graphics card in this laptop are incredibly powerful. You don’t normally find cards like this in mobile platforms. The battery life is good, but not great, and the battery cable is plenty long. It gets hot when under load, but this a problem across most laptops, but crucially, it doesn’t get hot enough to burn your palms on this beautiful aluminium casethe touchpad is a little stiff, but you get used to it very quickly. It’s a stylish package, with a hp logo that goes between being a mirror or a light depending on whether your laptop is on.

In terms of performance this is a good laptop, one problem was its short battery life (around 50 mins), and also it seems to overheat quicker than previous laptops i have used. One particular thing i like about this laptop is the fact the keys are spaced apart so i rarely find myself hitting multiple keys and the overall performance is quite good. Overall i think you can buy a better laptop for the money but i don’t think it is an unfair price.

This is a very good laptop for the price with a couple of flaws:1. So dont get this laptop if you plan on using it away from a power source for extended periods. The laptop crashes every now and then. Apart from these issues it is a great laptop.

Good laptop but has a few flaws. I decided to buy this laptop over a macbook simply because it has twice the power under the hood. I would have preferred a 1080p screen however the screen is fairly good at the dimensions.

Better with graphics update. I got this laptop 6 months ago for gaming purposes only. And so far the results are mixed. It seems powerful enough, i got an extra 4gb to guarantee performance for ram heavy games (like the total war series) but so far i find it still struggling with some games (battlefield 2, empire total war, grand theft auto 4). This may be due to other issues. The laptop gets extremely hot and as the heat vents are on the left and underneath, it is possible that not enough heat gets removed hence performance is affected. This limits using it on your lap to having to place a cushion or other support on your lap to prevent heat burns. Heat vents at the back may have been a more appropriate design. Windows experience index rates it at 5. 9soundthe sound is reasonable with headphones but slightly weak when relying on the speakers alone. I would have expected better. Softwaredecent software to start with. Hp media suite is adequate for most basic media needs.

As an avid pc gamer and university student (part time) i purchased this laptop to pass the time when theres a rainy day. What brought my attention to this platform was its impressive sounding processor, its stylish good looks and its small nature. So, sneakily i purchased this rather pricey laptop whilst my girlfriend was shopping, once the crime is committed there is no turning back i convinced myself. Like a child at christmas, with a skip and a hop i plunged the box on the bed and began to open it. I pulled out the laptop and placed the battery pack in easily, then plugged it into the mains. Specs are good for the price and the machine feels solid. Mouse was a bit rubbish at first though recent software updates much improved responsiveness. Never thought i would use the fingerprint reader but now use it for just about everything requiring a passwordwarning: the keyboard has no numeric keypad or numlock key. If you communicate in languages that use special keys i. Alt+0244 = ô, you will have problems using this laptop’s keyboard – there is no way you can insert such characters whilst typing apart from copying from windows’s character map. Don’t know how hp missed this one.

I have had this laptop for nearly three weeks now and i am very pleased with it. The main purpose of my laptop purchase was for music recording and production so i wanted something with a high specification and is fast. Having scoured the internet and various laptop brands i could not find another laptop that came close to the processing power for this price. (£749 in march 2011)i have so far had no significant problems with it and have successfully istalled and used my usb audio interface. Making sure i downloaded the most up to date windows 7 compatible drivers from the audio device manufacturers. (i made sure my device would work with windows 7 first. )other reviewers have commented on the stiff or unresponsive touchpad. I tried several laptops out in a shop and although it was one of my least favourite touchpads at the time, that is forgotten as i have got used to it in no time. Good for an opposable digit work out.

A good laptop let down by very poor batter life (45 mins on power saver mode). Also the touch pad is so stiff its almost unusable how this got out of quality control i don’t know. The power brick is also the largest i’ve seen with any laptop. Its a pity because these things bring down an otherwise good laptop.
