Great grinder for its price. De as it was cheaper from them. Anyway i used to have a 100 year old british spong manual grinder which i fed up having metallic taste even after countless tries of cleaning it. I made a 1 week of research read heaps of reviews and decided on graef cm800. The taste of my coffee changed a lot. I dont have any more coffee dusts. If i measure 16 gr of coffee beans and grind them it gives me 13gr of coffee. You need to tilt machine forward and give a little old tap and taa daaa you have 16gr of grinded coffee 🙂 its noisy but not that much. As the other reviewers mentioned you need to place burr mech correctly otherwise machine doesnt grind well at all. I am happy with my purchase.

Looking for something capable of grinding for espresso?. Make no mistake, this is a great grinder. . I made the mistake of putting it straight on to maximus finyness. The coffee took ages to grind, i was disappointed, but then i realised it was so fine it compacted hard and my coffee maker struggled to get the water through. I also had powder flow through to the cup. I turned it down a few notches and it now makes perfect espresso grind in seconds. The room smells of coffee even before you start with the coffee maker. Its nice to know the machine doesn’t have to run at the hardest setting, its capable of more than i need it for. In short i love it, i’m going to buy only beans from now on, very happy with my purchase and would recommend.

I bought this grinder mainly on the good reviews from other buyers and it hasn’t disappointed. It came with a european plug which needed changing to a 3 pin plug. The manual was german only but with the help of youtube videos, scanning the manual into freeocr, google translate and my limited german i was soon enjoying great coffee. My only problem was not initially realising that the milling head release button was on the rear of the grinder. Here are the specifications for the Gebr. Graef GmbH & Co. KG Graef CM 800 – coffee grinder – aluminium:

  • Colour:Aluminium
  • Food Capacity:0.35 kg
  • Product Type:Coffee grinder
  • Special Features:Dust cover, cord rewind, 40 grinder settings, stainless steel conical grinder

I bought this model from amazon. De because the it has more adjustment settings than the equivalent model from the amazon. It has exceeded my expectations in that it does a very fine grind when set up correctly, expect to waste a small amount of coffee beans whilst you experiment. The correct fitting of the upper grinding part is very important, it will not work if fitted incorrectly. The only negative thing i would say is that the instruction manual is more of a ‘guide’ than any thing else, so read it several times and try to understand the information as presented. This machine has opened up a whole new world of coffee flavour for me, i hope it does for you too.

I spent ages researching the coffee grinder i was going to buy. There’s a crazy amount written about coffee grinders on web sites and coffee forums. Most tell you to spend £300 on a grinder (coffee snobs). So what made me decide on the graef?. There was some good things said about it on some european sites, but also i have a meat slicer made by graef and i’ve never been so impressed with a piece of kitchen equipment before. Built like a tank and is just so well designed, perfect for the job it’s made for. Also there was very little chance of me spending more that £200 on a grinder, so i went with a brand i already knew made quality stuff. The graef is a lovely piece of kit.

Reviews from purchasers :

  • No gears to grind here!
  • Bean good so far (sorry)

Presto very presto delivering wonderful machine. After some experiment, using lavazza caffe espresso coffee beans with a gaggia classic espresso grind setting 12. Machine feels and sounds of german quality.

Just bought myself one of these to go with my new sage duotemp pro espresso machine. Very nicely made, nice and solid. Certainly goes fine enough for espresso, even without going to the finest setting. It has a scale of 1 to 40 on the dial, with 1 being the finest. Around 10-15 seems to work well for me. The coarse end of the scale is about the same as most pre-ground coffee and ok for cafetière use. There is the ability to fine-tune the grind by adjusting the upper burr, but i haven’t tried this yet, no real need to. Mine came with german instructions, and even after spending an hour on google translate, i wasn’t much the wiser.

I wanted a quality grinder that didn’t break the bank. After some research i settled on this one over the baratza encore (too much plastic) and ascaso i-mini (too expensive). The first unit i received did not power 🙁 however the seller was helpful and promptly replaced. I have put this down to being unlucky and the unit definately has a quality feel about its components. Being an engineer i love the chunky metal toggle switch. It’s quick to operate and very quiet for a coffee grinder. Positive soft click mechanism as you dial in your grind setting. Two adapter rings and auto setting to drop your portafilter underneath one handed. I’m currently using only for filter coffee and plan to move to espresso soon.

Great grinder – quality piece of kit and well worth the money. We wanted to upgrade our gaggia burr grinder for one with an automatic dispenser and hopper and wanted a good quality one to use with our rancilio machine. This ticks the boxes for us. We didn’t want the other top recommended one by heston blumenthal as don’t do kitchen things with names on as a rule. Delivery was quick and efficient to say it came from germany and we are very pleased with the purchase overall. I wouldn’t hesitate if i was you.

After researching various burr grinders ,i decided on the graef cm800. I can say i’m more than satisfied with the grinder, i’m not a coffee snob just a novice and happy with the results. The item was delivered promptly and in perfect condition.

Good for the price – just manual on/off to grind, no timer. . I ordered a cm80 – and received a cm800. I ordered this machine as my sage smart grinder broke leaving me unable to have coffee with my sage dual boiler espresso machine. I ordered this as a stand in replacement burr grinder. After about 2 weeks of use, i have to say it’s not half bad. It’s build quality is just fine, it does get down fine enough for espresso (i didn’t do any adjustments, just took it out the box and plugged it in then set a grind setting. I initially struggled a little as it’s only manual on/off (either by the switch or by pressing a button with the porterfilter) – so after the fully automated sage grinder i was not used to having to judge how much to dose and found myself early in the morning getting it slightly off resulting in too high or low pressure.

Baratza Virtuoso Coffee Grinder, ” D’ya hear the one about the three grinders?”

‘ d’ya listen to the just one about the 3 grinders?’. ‘d’you hear the just one about the 3 grinders?’starting at the punch line for the impatient. – even though early times, the virtuosa seems to be ‘just right’ (for the value)if you want the comprehensive version – you should …

Sage by Heston Blumenthal the Smart Grinder Pro, Great grinder so far

Espresso grinder for typical use. Fantastic functionality in line with the selling price. I was not confident what to go for in this sector where finances lines are reasonably new, but resolved to consider a likelihood for less than £200, if it goes completely wrong that is not also a …

Sage by Heston Blumenthal BCG600SIL the Dose Control Pro Coffee Grinder – : Great grinder, one of the best?

Genuinely not on commission. . Remaining the neurotic software that i am, i invested approximately 4 hrs making an attempt to choose what grinder to spend in (soon after my cuisinart began enjoying up). I know everyone implies getting the advice of the mid selection opinions but. This does far …
