My first sat nav and i am extremely happy with it. Why did not i get a single lengthy back?.

I would advise this solution. I chose the four star rating as it fills all the capabilities i want in a gps. Appears only lacking progress route direction (ie you can set in current location to location a, and then choose a spot b, c etc, it will give the eta of very last vacation spot – but can only see recent route to a, not a to b, nor can you start off at position a and route to b. Properly not that i have figured out however anyhow). Offers suitable lane guidance, a lot of warnings, perfectly spoken voice and can update your car graphic to be exhibited (with further versions avail on the internet – not yet played with this characteristic but could be enjoyable.

Well, technically my second. I was made available the financial loan of a single for a touring getaway in scotland and was stunned how powerful it was. So i resolved on the 2515lt with lifetime visitors studies. The only real shortcoming of the model i borrowed. The 2515 performs alright, but on the two journeys i have utilised it on i see no sign of the traffic avoidance procedure basically operating at all. It finds targeted traffic servers alright (or suggests it does) but on the two trips i have taken because purchasing it allow me generate straight into prolonged delays on founded roadworks without the need of giving me the chance to exit at the junction beforehand & get close to them. My mortgage device (a 1340) gave a one beep for all alerts. The 2515 provides a treble beep in spite of the menu indicating a selection between a single tone, or ongoing one particular. Clearly an interpretation of the phrase ‘single’ that i have not encountered ahead of.

Instead let down with this. Its appears to be dated even compared to my other satnav which is about 8 several years older than this 1. It was way out of date and appears to be indecisive on which route to consider. It frequently requires me on for a longer period routes than vital. The graphics and procedure are poor and long winded. On the optimistic facet, the approach to exactly where a transform in path on motorways is very good as it demonstrates a photograph of the approaching slip street and indicates the place you require to be. The suction cup on the window is weak. The port to plug it into the vehicle is at the rear and awkward.

Not able to download up tp date maps. Ready a very long time for garmin to arrive again to me to resolve the dilemma.

Garmin nuvi 2515 5″ Sat Nav with UK and Ireland Maps and Bluetooth : Great productivity with lots of additional functionality. He was delighted both with the sat nav functionality but also with the hands free facility saving him having to source a separate device or installation.

A must have , you will be lost without it . This has got us out of a few places where we didn’t know where we were.

This arrived on time and found easy to use interface. My partner is the one that uses it really. Did not appreciate the flat disc base which not very sticky. Need to get additional sturdy base.

A good sat nav for the asking price. I picked up one of these in a blowout deal at a local retailer, i also got the home charger and case includedthe reason i looked at this model was despite newer nuvi models being out there, this garmin is a bit older, but it has a few extra bits included that the updated entry models don’tbluetooth is one (tested it and it works just fine, you pair up devices and they work great and saves the need to buy another bluetooh device)eco driving, this monitors the braking and acceleration, and fuel economy (and you can set these values including fuel cost) this seems like a gimmick, but i honestly find it does encourage better driving and fuel efficiencythe search function is more advanced than the entry modelsthis model comes with the fm lead to get traffic updates, though if you buy the cheaper one it doesn’t come with that (you can pick it up yourself) traffic updates are “ok” but could be improved, some regions have weaker coveragei’ve been updating the maps and software frequently (i have lifetime uk and roi maps) garmin are quite good with this, but as others note it does take some time for newer roads to appear on the updates. Software wise garmin have been updating this with firmware and other fixes, i’ve mostly found the sat nav to be reliable and with decent routing (previous rac model was great at sending you down small country lanes)of most use is the ability to find points of interest, be it a hotel, petrol station, shopping areas or even a local cafe. Most handy as you can roam around and quickly search for these. This model does have audible alerts for safety cameras and speed limits (you can turn this off if you want)to date it’s been a reliable unit, very few issues to note. I do find the newer garmin entry models lacking the advanced search and with less features (that i find useful) so i do recommend this model based on that alone. Grab yourself a bargain sat navupdate 05/14:sat nav working fine, though garmin could be a bit more on the ball with their map updates (they do update the maps but in some cases some areas are not as up to date as they should be)firmware has been updated to 8. 20, some improvements in unit response and searchtraffic database is 3. 90i use the garmin express to update the unit on my pcit’s not a perfect sat nav, but on balance it’s pretty useful and the price is quite fair.

Have been using tom tom for several years and overall quite pleased but when it was time for a new one i thought i’d give the garmin a try. Not disappointed but a bit different to use, soon got the hang of it though.
