Garmin Nuvi 2200 3 : Great, little sat nav

Sat Navs

This is the initial sat nav i have owned and i am very amazed by it. It was rather quick to set up and use and, so significantly, has not steered me completely wrong. When i have ignored the instructions, either intentionally or not, it recalculates the route incredibly quickly. A reward for an individual who has never ever learnt still left from proper. Basic features, just right for a starter pack.

Garmin nuvi 2200 three. 5′ sat nav with uk & ireland maps. Order this garmin nuvi 2200 three. 5′ in may perhaps, the product or service alone is fantastic but enable down by the automatic voice who seem to inform you to flip when its far too late. The application would’nt obtain so not able to add updates for maps. I have utilised other sat nav’s but i need to say that the tomtom wins palms down each time however: if garmin produced a couple adjustments in the ideal sites, it could be up there with tomtom.

High-quality, but amazon’s description has glitches. This is a flawlessly first rate satnav, and we’re experiencing applying it. Even so, the amazon description on this web page says that it involves lane help and junction watch, which the 2200 does not. We only observed this out soon after we had been given it and employed it. We chose to shell out a bit much more for this design due to the fact we thought we were being having these characteristics. So now i’m not sure what we paid out the extra for, supplied that we could have got a 1200 for considerably less which has a related spec. I agree with the earlier remark that it is strange that it reads out the road numbers as a total number rather than a series of amount (e. A a single-thousand-two-hundred-and-eighty-7 as an alternative of a one, two, 8, seven), but we’ll get utilised to it. Overall, fantastic, but we are a little bit aggravated the description is improper on this website page. Here are the specifications for the Garmin Nuvi 2200 3:

  • Enter your model number
    to make sure this fits.
  • Sat nav with preloaded mapping for UK and Ireland
  • MyTrendsTM learns your driving habits to predict destinations based on time of day and location
  • Save money and fuel and reduce your carbon footprint with ecoRouteTM software for fuel-efficient navigation
  • Unique CyclopsTM directional safety camera alerts (includes fixed camera and mobile positions) with speed limits

I got this for my husband, he swears by garmin, reckons it beats all the others hands down, and he travels all over the country in his work, so that i reckon is a great recommendation it is reliable and uncomplicated too, which is a great bonus. Also it came very very quickly, was well packed and free post .

Faulty motor vehicle charger guide , but good sat nav. Tbh , i was content with this product or service , the sat nav by itself is wonderful pretty content with it , but i identified out not too long ago that the car or truck charger lead was defective , i had thought my car energy position was not operating like my previous fiat car or truck ,but it wasnt , my sat navs battery only lasts an hour and a 50 % use , so i am pretty constrained , not becoming able to use the in car cost position , for this rationale i give it only 3 stars , disgrace its a excellent sat nav , but the cost direct is an critical portion of this sat nav .

Reviews from purchasers :

  • Good, fit for pupose
  • Fine, but Amazon’s description contains errors
  • Great, little sat nav

Just what i was wanting for. I’m totally delighted with my very little sat av. It is really compact and simple to use and it matches in my handbag.

This is a very well priced, clever sat nav, and incredibly small if you do want to have it with you and not leave it in the vehicle. I haven’t explored all its features but it gets me from a-b, clearly, with all the capabilities you could want.

Very good display even in bright sun light unlike my old one which i could not see the screen when the sun shone on it ,directions a lot better than previous one does not send you miles out your way. Only prob is if you need to connect it to the charger in car plug it in then turn it on other wise it turns it off not a major problem just thought id mention it.

Small screen but good value sat nav. The screen is small so this may not be the sat nav for all. However, it does exactly as its larger more expensive model does. Easy to set up, easy to use. Storage is easy due to size. And the seller was excellent.

Very handy but even the most recent map update is too old. I keep this in my jacket pocket rather than the car and it has proved invaluable when i have been a passenger in another car. That said the rule about never relying entirely on the satnav still holds true – the maps show some junctions that i’m familar with entirely wrong even though they were altered over 5 years ago.

This gps is able to help us find our way around england. I did not give it 5 stars, because it is a bit slow in recalculating routes when i miss a turn or decide to take a slightly different route.

Excellent product and does everything you need from a satnav. Lane assist function works well and there is photo realistic junction view, although this is only on selected major a road and motorway junctions. The junction image shows up for about five seconds and then disappears. I can’t find any way of changing the settings for this as it would be useful if the image stayed on the screen a little longer. The junction view is not in real time, it’s just a fixed image. The garmin nuvi is very quick at finding itself and comes with speed camera and safety zone alerts.

Much better than earlier version (apart from the voice). My old western europe garmin (nuvi 205), bought in dec 2008, was very out of date mapwise, & also insisted on rebooting – very slowly – every time the car ignition had been switched off. This one does switch itself off 15 secs after the ignition goes off, but is back in action very swiftly when turned on again. Otoh my old one had a very inoffensive voice. This one’s voice is an incredibly irritating, with australian rising inflexion on top of the germanic “b one thousand six hundred” rather than “b one six oh oh” – does the actual road number even need to be given, rather than just “take the second exit”?. As a result i keep the voice muted all the time, which is satisfactory as long as i remember to keep an eye on the screen approaching junctions (otherwise chaos may ensue). I don’t find the feature showing an image of approaching motorway road signs at all helpful, but the lane directions in the top lh corner are very useful. (eg if there are 2 lanes leaving to the left, & 3 going straight on, the ones you should be using are shown in white & the others greyed)athough bought in july 2012, this version is at least a year out of date as far as local speed cameras are concerned. I am entitled to a free update, as long as i take it before october; but the unit functions beautifully at present, & would require the addition of a memory card to update, so i’m inclined to muddle along paying attention to speed limit signs instead.

I wanted a reasonably priced, easy to use gps and that’s exactly what i goti’m using it in denmark and so far so good, the directions have been right on and the screen, though small is adequate. The only downside is that it sometimes takes me the “long way” but for places where i sort of know my way, i just stop listening to the nice lady for a bit and let her “recalculate. ” otherwise though, it’s always gotten me to where i need to be without landing me on a pedestrian street or in a lake ;)all in all, this device gets the job done and at a great price.

Purchased this sat nav as a replacement for an original tomtom so we could turn off speed camera notifications in order to comply with new laws in france. Not the biggest display around, and possibly not as many features as some other models, but a good basic unit and good value for money – has got us where we want to go, so far.
