Espressi with a very good cream. Needs ground coffee beans which i control. Espressi with a very good cream. Needs ground coffee beans which i control to the size needed for extracting all the goodness and aroma. Fairly solid built at a reasonable price compared with some monster machines which cost thousands.
Good while it lasted but seems it is made cheaply now. This was great while it lasted. Developed a problem where water would leak out by the portafilter. I found some tutorial videos on how to change the gasket seal so bought a replacement. Was disappointed to discover that this is a new model and cannot be serviced yourself the same as the older one could be.
I bought a 2nd hand gaggia classic 2 years ago. It turned out to be completely new and just the packaging was slightly damaged. I upgraded from a nespresso as the cost per cup is much cheaper and the quality of the coffee is superb. You will have to invest in a proper grinder but the money is totally worth if you are serious about your coffee. Machine is still going strong and i descale it every 3-4 months. I am really happy with this machine and had zero problems to date and received plenty of compliments from my cappuccinos, plus saved tons of money from local cafes.
I bought the gaggia classic 2015 model about 9 months ago (approx. 2016) and it was working well initially. Making good coffee and froth. Then about 4 months later the machine began dripping around the portafilter when it was brewing coffee. I got in touch with the supplier and sent them pictures. They were quick to respond but i was going to have to send the machine off to be fixed. As i could not be bothered to do that i took the whole machine apart to find the leak. It was the connection between the water pump hose and the boiler.
A great machine for coffee enthusiast on a budget. . I recently bought this gaggia for my daughter. I have used a classic for over 10 years and it is still going strong. It makes great coffee for up to 3 or 4 people, if there are more than that wanting coffee it is on the slow side so not the best. The classic froths milk really well (we use skimmed milk). The classic is easy to top up with water, has a large coffee holder and although there are some differences in the current model from the one i bought years ago it still makes great coffee and is not too expensive to buy. A great machine for coffee enthusiast on a budget.
Reviews from purchasers :
- Good while it lasted but seems it is made cheaply now
- Gaggia could do better
- i did have an older machine for approx 10 years and it was brilliant but i did have to do various strip downs
We are very pleased with our new gaggia coffee maker, we have had one for many years which we were very pleased with, consequently we replaced it for the same again.
So far so good, i use my original brass basket holder( not. Replaced my mark 1 classic ( solenoid valve model) with this new model. So far so good, i use my original brass basket holder( not into this new cream filter nonsense). Works well, but drips a tiny bit every now and then due to lack of solenoid valve. Can’t understand the negative reviews. For £250 or thereabouts it’s great.
