Brilliant point & shoot hd camcorder with a 2 x digital zoom. Ignore the negative comments as i do have a canon legria hv40 (around £750 on amazon) to compare with it. Of course it hasn’t the flexibility of a ‘proper’ hd camcorder but the video in good light & the audio compares well with my canon. You will need a mini hdmi cable (about £6 ) to connect to your hdmi socket on your tv. No other tv connection is possiblealso for charging, a usb extension lead is more convenient for plugging into the pc & if not near a pc a mains charger (about £10 on amazon} is essential. The soft pouch isn’t very substantial but does protect it in a shirt pocket. More rugged & a perfect fit for the mino is the tuff-luv case at £3.
Great, small, simple, handy and effective device. This little item is a great little video camera. It is great at what it has been intended for. It fits fine in any pocket, easy and quick to switch on, simple to start recording, easy to see what you are recording and easy and quick to stop and switch off again. It has a decent sized and quality screen for reviewing what you recorded instantly and when you get home it is very simple to transfer the videos onto your pc. It obviously has its limitations but as i said it is great at what it was designed to do. And not very expensive either. I would definitely buy this product again.
Really simple, lovely to use. So simple, so light but great quality. Quite unbelievable actually. Its so easy to operate, the on switch is on the side then its the big red one to record and then stop recording. Its off to being able to record time is so quick, 3-5 secs max. The videos generated by the flip are great when viewed on a hd tv or tv, or indeed on the flip itself. I love the fact you can view the video frame-by-frame so you can pull out some beautiful still images that you would have to be either very very lucky or very skilled to generate with a standard camera. The reason for the 4 star rating is for 2 reasons (but more niggles rather than anything that would put me off buying. Firstly the ‘flip’ out usb when plugged into the computer can leave the camera feeling woefully unsupported.
The flip mino is about two things: size, and ease of use. It hits both while punching above its weight in terms of quality, if not features. Impressions: it’s about the size of a slightly chubby mobile phone and it’s made of plastic that feels durable but looks quite cheap. It weighs about the same as a mobile, too, so you should have a good idea by now whether or not you think you can carry it around comfortably. A pouch and a wriststrap are bundled with the box. Both are extremely useful, given that the device is largely texture less and slippery. Any help keeping it from smashing on the ground is a bonus, and there’s no cover for the lens, so the pouch can keep it from getting scratched by whatever you have in your pocket or bag. Controls: the side with the controls and the screen is a glossy fingerprint magnet, though this is endemic to all black gadgets. There are physical, clicky buttons for the on/off switch and the record button – the rest are capacitive and glow white when the mino is on.
I searched the internet to find this little gem as the manufacturers have discontinued making it, eventually i found one, i was so pleased. It’s easy to use, sits in your pocket like a mobile phone, a great little video recorder for those special moments. Fast delivery, very courteous service.
Flip Mino HD 3rd Generation 120 minutes recording, 8GB Memory & Image Stabilisation – Black : Great little video camera, well worth the price. If you’re like me and just want to make high quality family videos but don’t have the time or desire to convert, edit and find some way to publish your videos, then i think you’ll find the flip the perfect video camera. The flip is small, portable, and the software included in the camera’s memory works great, as it’s very simple and publishing to various web media or direct to dvd is amazingly easy. I have several video cameras (vhs-c, mini-dv, and flash-based), with each “new” technology progressively more difficult to use and to store/publish videos than the previous, until this one. This video camera, in my opinion, confirms the truth in the adage that “less is more”. Of course those who prefer to do advanced editing, add special effects, or record in low-light situations will likely find the flip too limited in its features. But if, like me, you’re just interested in recording those special moments in outstanding hd quality without the hassles of file conversion or editing for publication, then i would highly recommend the flip mino.
