Great value as i got the egg controller too. 88 for this because of a damaged box. Great value as i got the egg controller too. I use this for my tv and fire box. I also purchased two energy egg plug sockets too for my lamps. These are all in my front living room. My kids constantly leave everything switched on then disappear to their rooms. I set my timer on ten minutes so now if the room is left empty, everything switches off including my lamps. When i walked back in, it all switched on again.

Using it to turn off the tv when everyone leaves the room and forget to turn it off. Here are the specifications for the Energy Egg and Power Strip Pack –:

  • Simple, smart and safe money and energy saving appliance controller
  • Wireless range of upto 30 metres
  • Timer delay of upto 30 minutes before switching off connected appliances and lighting after you leave the room
  • SitStill technology sensor can tell when you are sitting still and when the room is empty
  • One button to switch all connected appliances and lights On/Off

Using it to turn off the tv when everyone leaves the room and forget to turn it off.

Frustrating, but it does actually work. . These work great once they’re set up, but man the instructions are awful and the user interface just makes you wonder why anyone would do it this way. And why would i want some of the connections to not be controlled by the sensor?. I have dozens of routine sockets all over the house for that.

The use the standard rf433 frequency and are fairly easy to control with an rf module and an arduino. Clever solution to a common issue. I invested in a number of the energy egg products while they were on offer ~£10. So far i have them deployed in my home office, living room and bedrooms. As an example use case in my office i have all my monitors and non critical devices connected so if i leave the office for more than 20 mins or the night i know everything will just turn off. But walk back in after lunch and monitors etc spring back to life. From a safety standpoint example i also sometimes use a hot glue gun and soldering iron these are both connected via the egg sockets as well so can be sure that if left unattended these will also be powered off from the socket side by the egg on a set timeout. So no more finding out that soldering iron been left on overnight or for hours at a time. For the diy makers out among us i have played around with rf side of these devices. The use the standard rf433 frequency and are fairly easy to control with an rf module and an arduino.

Very useful pir power strip combo. . I love theses energy egg devices, this one especially. With this power strip you don’t need an extra extension lead, plus you gain a socket as there are two non-switched sockets as well as the switched sockets.

Great idea, poor instructions. I was originally given an energy egg as a gift from a friend and i was so impressed with it that i bought another one for my son’s room. There can be no doubt, these devices will save you money on your energy bill because they fully switch devices off rather than leave them in standby mode and hence still consume power. The one aspect that i do not like is the instructions. They are frustrating and in parts contradictory. Despite owning two sets of energy eggs, one of which for some time, i still struggle to initially sync the power strip part to the remote senor part. They spoil an otherwise great product. I do like the fact that on the power strip part there are two dedicated sockets that are not controlled by the remote senor. That’s useful if you have a device which takes some time to boot up such as a satellite tv receiver unit. Verdict: great idea, poor instructions. If you want to save money on your energy bill and possess the patience of a saint to get this device up and running then i would recommend this product. Once you get past the setup headaches you have a great product here.

Good concept but i’ve had to send it back as faulty. When it works its good but i had to factory reset it so many times as the egg wouldn’t switch the powerbank. Finally the powerbank override button wouldn’t even switch the appliances, i could hear the click, see the light go on/off but the appliance state wouldn’t change. Only lasted two months and in that time had more issues with it than its worth.
