There was no way i was going to pay in excess of £300 for a coffee maker even though i was yearning for one. I also did not want to get tied into buying expensive brand only pods. So when this machine had a price crash (i paid £150 for mine) i took the plunge. I have had it for a little over a week now and using it a few times each day. I read reviews on another site that said a lot of the machines had stopped working but apparently some were shipped with the wrong fuse. This may explain that problem. Plus points:quick to warm up. The milk dispenser is semi self cleaning by pushing and holding a button. Delivers 1 or 2 cups of espressotakes ese pods or your ground coffee. It delivers ‘instant’ hot water if you want teayou can adjust the clearance under the nozzle for larger cups other than espresso cups. Delivers very good quality cappuccino, latte machatio and espresso all without too much fuss or having to learn to be a barista. Gets a good crema on your drinkpoorer pointsthe milk dispenser has a protruding piece of plastic that pushes into the main body.
Writing this after living with the machine for about 4 months. Overall, very pleased with it, and would purchase again. Main reason for getting was the cappaccino feature. I have never been good at frothing milk manually, and it makes a mess and takes longer. So, this has been a godsend. The milk frothing generally works great and is reliable. (i have found that it’s best to ‘clean’ the frother twice before you use it, and twice after, in order to reliably get frothy milk with volume – if you only do it once, things seem to get clogged up and you end up with frothed milk with little or no volume. It produces proper hot coffee too, my last cheaper machine was not really hot.

For the price, this is an excellent coffee machine. I’ve owned a couple of espresso machines over the years. Most lasted about a year and then died and needed replacing. I wasn’t sad to see any of them go, they made an ok cup of coffee, end of story. My last krups system gave up the ghost in september and this little baby was on special offer at amazon, so i decided to give it a go. Wow, what a difference – this machine is in a different league to most other domestic machines i’ve owned/used/drunk coffee from. Quick to heat up, quiet (in comparison to my old machines, not quiet compared to a toaster you understand, but relatively quite for what it is), has some nifty features such as the milk nozzle cleaning after use and the programmable temperature, adjustable water delivery time through the espresso powder as well as water filter built into the (well-hidden) water tank. If i was pushed to give a negative, its a little on the large side, but at making great coffee, it’s simply fantastic.
