Great sounding headphones, and very comfortable after being worn in. Bought these around six months ago, and despite having a separates system i’d deliberated over for quite a while to get quality kit i’d only ever used sony mdr-ed21lp headphones before. The improvement in sound quality is monumental. The sound is so much crisper and warmer. Unfortunately there have however been two downsides to them. The first, when i first got them after about 30 minutes wear i noticed my head felt like it’d been in a clamp. Easy way to sort this is take the memory phone covers off and then leave them stretched over the box for a couple of nights when your not using them. Soon stops your head from feeling like they’ve been in a clamp and they’re very comfy headphones after thatthe second, and very disappointing for a piece of kit from a manufacturer like b&w, one of the earphones fell off at the point the metal connects to the headband. Luckily for me this was about 5 and a half months from purchase, so amazon replaced them free of charge. Hopefully this won’t happen to my second pair.
Wasn’t sure if i loved them before – now i definitely do. These headphones look so cool, i wanted to love them. And to a large extent, i do. The sound isn’t perfect – it is quite dark and bass heavy, and there isn’t much of a treble. But it is a very smooth sound, with good amounts of detail, and i enjoy listening to music on them, which is what it comes down to in the end. They are also very portable, folding up neatly and fitting into a small hard clamshell case. My main problem with them however, is the fit – they tend to fall forward off my ears if i move my head forwards, which can be quite annoying, given these are portable headphones, designed to be worn while moving about. The headband is quite thin and starts to hurt the top of my head after a couple of hours, and when wearing my glasses, they do start to pinch. But i am happy to overlook these problems because of how great they look. That may make them sound like a bit of extravagance, and perhaps they are as i tend to listen to my sennheiser momentums more often, but i still love them.

But it keeps hurting my ears a little bit. It’s a pretty nice pair of headphones. Incredible bass response and product design. It would be perfect if it didn’t hurt my ear as i think it is a little bit tight for the size(or whatever) of my head. I don’t have a big head, but probably b&w could make it easier to the customers to adjust the pressure from the headphone by themselves. I need to relax my ears every 20 minutes when i use it. But regardless of that, it’s a perfect headphone.
Look and sound great, but too uncomfortable to wear even for small periods. . Ordered these headphones on the black friday deal at £95, so was really pleased that i’d managed to grab a pair for such a discount price, and really really wanted to like these headphones but they were just so uncomfortable that i couldn’t. They look great and sound great, and would be 5 stars and the perfect headphones if only they were wearable. I tried them on with various music types for a couple of hours overall and could tell within minutes that they were tight on my (relatively small) ears, and dug into the top of my head quite painfully, and after half an hour or so i had to take them off as they were actually hurting my head, not just becoming uncomfortable. I am often on long journeys, and so comfort is a big factor in a pair of headphones for me, and was looking to get some new ones as my current klipsch image one ii were uncomfortable after an hour or so and i’d have to take them off for a while. Unfortunately, the p3s weren’t a viable replacement for me, despite their good looks and great sound. Returned to amazon for a refund instead.
I’ve had a pair of these since they first launched. They have come down in price since then but i don’t regret buying them. They’ve given me years of great listening and i’m only retiring them as i’m buying a pair of the p7s. The sound is very well balanced. B&w aim to reproduce the original acoustics in a recording as possible so they don’t have the kind of fake enhancement you get on some other brands – which is usually to compensate for poor drivers. The separation on the p3s is superb and the bass natural. Aside from the sound the build quality is great. They’re really tough and i’ve thrown them in and out of my bag daily. Also they’re designed so individual parts such as the leads of the pads can be easily replaced – which i needed to do a few months ago as i acidentally broke one one of the leads.
Bowers & Wilkins P3 On-Ear Headphones B&W – Black : You will hear sounds in the music that you have never heard before, even with songs you know. They are brilliant so buy them and currently cheap due to new model out now.
