First off, delivery was next day. And i thought my tv was good. I`m a little short of the hearing myself, and this machine just does away with doubts imay have had.
After reading a good few of the customer reviews i was put off slightly by some of the negative ones. Especially the coustomer who complained about the base on the product and also on the replacement unit. Needless to say i decided to go ahead and purchase bose solo tv sound system. I am so glad i did, as the unit has perfect sound quality and really is as good as advertised. I actually have the unit on a shelf below the tv and connected to my tv via the satellite system. Would strongly recommend anybody to purchse if they are looking for a good sound system.
This has been a welcome addition to the house. My mum is having difficulty hearing the tv and the volume tends to be about 45 (maximum is 50). The problem seems to be the clarity of the vocal performance combined with the background noise/music – do actors really mutter instead of articulating their words. I have a dread of electrical equipment (i still remember setting up our first video recorder and its awful indecipherable ‘how to’ instructions) so i was incredibly relieved to discover that connection was very simple. This isn’t one of those fancy surround sound home cinema packages but an expansion speaker which adds to the existing speaker(s) which came with your tv. Did it make it easier for my mother to hear what was being said?.Over the weekend she has watched tv without having to have the volume shaking the walls and without saying ‘what did they say’. Here are the specifications for the Bose Solo TV Sound System –:

I think this is a great product. A significant improvement over my sony 40′ standard speakers. I agree with other reviews that the bose really comes into its own during movies and watching mtv, but the clarity of speech during simple tv is a big improvement and the real reason i purchased this unit. This unit was on demo in a local currys and the sound came accross impressively – even though the demo was in open space. I have a large open plan room and was concerned about the sound filling the room but after hearing the demo i knew it would be fine. It really is well built and sits beautifully under the tv. Pros:looks great – much better than soundbars in my opinion. Looks amazing under by black sony tv. Sounds is indeed very good, great clarity with speech in particular in our large room.
Lived up to all expectations of a bose product, but i would advise purchasers that they would receive the full benefit of this product, with an up to date tv, which would have the optimum sound facility. My wife has problems hearing and has benefited from this product, with its all round speaker system. I am not an expert in these matters, but this product must rate very highly in its range.
Reviews from purchasers :
- A very good product
- Be Very Careful (UPDATED; Now no need to be careful)
- Excellent sound quality
Fills our small living room with sound. I’m not a techo-junkie by any stretch of the imagination but even i found this very easy to set up and use with my flat screen tv. We have a relatively small living room and the sound quality is perfect for it. I was also impressed that i was able to turn the bass down and enjoyed the directional sound. The instructions include some very easy troubleshooting directions which has been a big bonus.
The sitting room has been gutted, the old amplifier and speakers are gone, tv on the wall. We wanted an unclutterd room and that is what it provided. The sound is a big improvement on the tv, cds can be played through the blu-ray player, we have cable so have digital signals and the radio works well. We even play vinyl through the audio cable. Maybe not how it is supposed to be set up but it works for us and is a neat solution. I am not going to be picky about the finer points of the sound and it is simple. It does the job we bought it for and actually looks quite good.
