Small is beautiful, but it can also be rich and powerful as can be demonstrated by this cool bose cinema sound system. From a soft whisper to a resonating thunder peal, it will totally enhance your home audio/visual listening experience. It produces tinkling high notes, silky smooth middle tones and cocoons them all in deep bass backing. Apart from virtually renewing my tv sound, it has so refreshed my dvd and bluray collections that each one sounds like a new buy. For something so small, it really surprises how much it punches way above its weight. The main sound bar sits in front of my tv. I am greatly impressed with its size and minimalist appearance. It is so small and unobtrusive that you hardly notice it. The deep sounds emanate from the larger of the two unit which sits quietly on the floor to the side of my tv table.
And comes with a universal remote control that was relatively easy to program. This is a combination of monster sub-woofer and compact little soundbar. It is a reassuringly weighty piece of kit, and comes with a universal remote control that was relatively easy to program. The sub-woofer lends serious low-end to your tv sound, and this was best experienced with action and orchestral scores, producing a rumbling throbbing bass for ambience, but it didn’t fare so well with music television, where the sound was meaty and thick but lacking in definition. The soundbar produces a lovely clear sound, and voices are reproduced with accuracy and character. The soundstage was relatively wide for such a small speaker, and the device can perform at a good high volume. I’d say that the system is at its very best with a good film, and it was also great for gaming, providing a more immersive experience than the tv speakers alone. The remote control is a useful addition, as the speaker set itself requires another remote, meaning a set-up with some sort of digital box, like cable or satellite, and a television would require three remotes. The codes to program the remote were not perfectly accurate, and required some digging around on the internet and some trial and error to finally get it to work with all the constituent parts of the system, but this is to be expected with such a wide variety of devices available, produced by a huge number of manufacturers.
This bose cinemate speaker system comes with one sound bar, a base unit and universal remote control. The sound bar encases 4 multi-directional speakers, that mean an all round sound that can be heard where ever you sit in your living room or elsewhere, dependent on where you use your tv. The sound bar is meant to be placed centrally in front of your tv and is roughly about 12 inches long, 3 inches deep and 2 inches wide (rough estimate, as i didn’t measure it), so bear this in mind if you have a wall mounted tv. The sound bar produces very clear crisp sound and enhances the sound of general tv viewing vocally and musically. The base unit is roughly the size of a desktop pc tower, so is quite large and is meant to be placed flat on the floor, not on your tv unit,so bear this in mind when considering what space you have next to your tv shelf unit, or where to place it if you have a wall mounted tv. The base unit produces the base sounds and background sounds from tv and film and we took the opportunity to try out our speakers with lord of the rings and gravity initially to test them out and we were very impressed with the sound produced, with each rumble and roar being resonated through the floor, and around the room, which really did give it that cinema feel. To give an example, when we watched gravity, at one point the rumble produced was so intense that it sounded like a plane was going to land on our house and this wasn’t even because we had it on particularly loudly. We have actually found ourselves turning the volume down, just in case the neighbours are disturbed by the powerful sounds coming from the base unit. However, the powerful sounds from the base unit can be quite overpowering and we have found we are having to adjust the volume up and down to hear vocal speech in the quieter moments and i think we still need to experiment with finding the right balance between the base and the treble, as this can be adjusted, but we just haven’t found that perfect medium between the two yet. Bose cinemate 15 – there is no competition. I have one word of introduction. . Wowbeing a globally renowned brand, my expectations were high to begin with, but the performance on low volume and high is nothing short of outstanding and way exceeded my expectations. The cinemate 15 system replaced my current soundbar system by lg (also comprising soundbar and subwoofer). Sizewise, the bose soundbar is about a quarter the size of the lg, but the sound quality at low and high volumes totally blows the lg system away. Additionally, you can actually feel some of the low notes from the subwoofer. I don’t have to ask my wife to increase the volume anymore as the clarity at low volumes is excellent. Installation was really easy, but we haven’t mastered the setup of the universal remote yet, in spite of following the directions. More focus needed here it seemsall in all, outstanding value for the price paid.
I was looking for something to replace our 5. 1 surround sound as i didn’t want rear speakers and all the wires that come with the whole system . I no you can by wireless speakers but was trying to find a sound that was as good as what we had .I went to our local store which had this bose model and it sounded really fantastic, i already new about the sound quality of them as i already own a bose speaker to use with my phone and tablet so decided to go with this one , i no the the subwoofer ( bose call it a acoustimass ) is wired and the sound bar to but much less wiring than with our old system. Well the result is just what i had hoped for. As you would expect from bose, dialogue very clear no more having to turn it down if there are explosions or loud music then having to turn it back up to listen to speech and its nice a neat to look at to. I would defiantly recommend this system if like me you want quality sound.
Reviews from purchasers :
- The power and clarity that I just couldn’t get from budget soundbars
- Bose Cinemate 15 – there is no competition!
- Best for small living rooms and bedrooms for the price of £349. No other soundbars are close enough in sound quality.
A sound system that matches an hd television’s picture quality. Wow, this is an impressive bit of kitmy son persuaded me that i needed to move with the times and change my old block of a tv for a nice new flat screen job. I had to, albeit in a curmudgeonly fashion, admit that the picture quality was much improved but, the sound was a disappointment: turn it down, and it soon became inaudible, turn it up and it distorted (without a great deal of extra volume). ‘, said my worldly-wise son. I listened to his and, yes, it was better but still. . Then i heard this bose unit and i knew what i wanted. It has a small sound bar, which produces surprisingly good quality sound but, when you add the bass unit, which sits on the floor out of the way, the result is of a very high standard indeed. Not only can i now blast your socks off at ten paces, but the clarity means that, if someone is asleep in the next room, i can turn the volume down and still hear, clearly, what is being said. The instructions for setting the unit up are simplicity itself: it took me less than a quarter of an hour to have it up and running with, perhaps another five minutes to set the remote to operate all other functions on my tv.
Brilliant space saving with excellent sound quality. . This is a small sound system with big sound clarity and quality due to the fact that it comes with bose truespace signal processing technology that allows the sound to be produced through an array of four element speakers contained inside the sound bar enabling such great sound quality with excellent high and mid range frequencies. The sound bar is not big and at only 12′ long, 3. 75′ deep it is compact and therefore sits very nicely in front of the tv. The acoustimass module is on the other hand much larger, but not import an as that is normally placed at the side of the tv on the floor. They both come in a very stylish black finish that sits well with other multi media and electrical goods. The set up is very easy with digital optical, coaxial and analogue cables supplied. Only one wire is required to connect to the tv from the sound bar and obviously there are connections for power and linkage from and to the acoustimass module. Other than that there are multiple audio inputs, but no wireless or bluetooth capability.
